Hi Marge! Samsung QLED TVs use Quantum dots which are inorganic, durable, stable and allow for excellent color and brightness, even in a bright environment. Tizen is a user friendly smart system built in to the TV allowing you to access all of your favorite streaming content including Apple TV+ and Apple Music, a built in web browser, free TV with Samsung TV Plus, along with a wide range of other great smart features. ^Tim

In QLED TVs, the dots are contained in a film, and the light that hits them is provided by an LED backlight. That light then travels though a few other layers inside the TV, including a liquid crystal (LCD) layer, to create the picture. The light from the LED source is transmitted through the layers to the screen's surface, which is why we say it's "transmissive." OLED is different because it doesn't use an LED backlight to produce light. Instead, light is produced by millions of individual OLED subpixels. The pixels themselves -- tiny dots that compose the image -- emit light, which is why it's called an "emissive" display technology. That difference leads to all kinds of picture quality effects, some of which favor LCD (and QLED), but most of which benefit OLED. Depending on the brand / manufacturer: OLED has better contrast and black level. QLED is brighter OLED has better uniformity and viewing angles Resolution, color, video processing and other image quality factors are basically the same The reason I went for a QLED is that it has a much reduced chance of burn in like OLED panels. OLED typically doesnt last as long as a QLED. Tizen is the OS used by Samsung - Tizen is a Linux-based mobile operating system backed by the Linux Foundation but developed and used primarily by Samsung. Other TVs use Roku TV, Android TV, Fire TV, WebOS and more. LG sells a lot of TVs using WebOS while Samsung has Tizen (so far very impressed with the speed and stability of Tizen plus it has a very large app library)
