No. As with any type of movie disc, video game disc or musicCD Player (with the exception of some TV’s that are specifically made to insert the disc in vertically), this unit needs to be in a flat, even horizontal position to work properly.

Sure. Mount a shelf to the wall and put the player on the shelf. If you tried to mount the player flat to the wall it would not be able to load or play the discs vertically ... or see your remote.
