I am using this slide in model where I previously had a free standing range. It's possible because the Samsung Bespoke range comes with side panels. Some ranges from other manufacturers do not. My particular set up has the range located at the end of a run of cabinets, and people can pass by the side of the range. Because I have neither cabinet nor counter top on one side of the range, I do fear that things will go sailing onto the floor because there is no lip around the glass cooking surface, and so I am careful about how I position pot handles when cooking.
