When i got mine, even though im contracted with at&t, i purchased the geek squad protection plan, simply because its easier to deal with best buy rather than asurion.

You should be able to add the Geek Squad coverage to your phone, without any problems. So, ask for the Geek Squad coverage while visiting your local Best Buy. Keep in mind that if you have renters/homeowners insurance, call your insurance company about adding coverage for your phone. Its that easy. Square Trade and other coverage sites can sometimes provide a protection plan too.

Yes you can get insurance that covers lost or stolen as well. This is different then most other places.

I don't think best buy or geek squad offer warranties for cell phones you would need to go to your service provider and have them add insurance to your current phone plan if you want insurance
