Best Buy's warranty is 90 days on the Samsung Evo 860 500GB SSD Drive. If you register the drive with Samsung it will state 5 years. Read down further in the fine print and it will state that Samsung will not honor any warranty on a refurbished drive refurbed by anyone other than them. They will not honor a Geek Squad refurbed drive.

I've answered this question on this site before. The warranty is only 90 days. Putting the serial # in Samsung's site means nothing. It will show 5 years because when it was new it had a 5 yr warranty. In order to get a replacement, you will have to show proof of purchase. Once it shows Geek Squad Reburbished, that 5 year warranty is out the window. Do your own DD and call Samsung, tell them you purchased a Geek Squad Refurb, ask what the warranty is.

It's 5 years from the original date of manufacture. In the case of the 2 units I bought, both have 4 years and 10 months remaining on the warranty.
