Yes, but currently you can only store and play PS4 titles. It's possible that Sony will eventually update the PS5 to allow the storage of PS5 games but you will never be able to play PS5 titles from this drive. As fast as this SSD is, it's still only about a quarter the speed of the internal NVMe drive in the PS5.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As of 04/18/23. You can store and play PS4 games onto this drive as external drive. However, you can ONLY store PS5 games onto the drive and NOT play PS5 games from the drive as external drive. To play PS5 games, you need to copy game data from your USB extended storage drive or External drive back to your PS5 console's internal SSD storage. Note: It’s much quicker to copy a PS5 game from USB extended storage or External drive than to re-download the game from the PSN account. This apply with other External HHD's, External SSD's (Internal HHD's and Internal SSD's in an enclosure - used as External drives).
