GPT is short for GUID Partition Table. The type of table is determined by what type of partitioning you choose. When installing Win7 onto a new hard drive, it will automatically create the necessary tables required. This hard drive is 100% compatible with Windows 7.

Before you begin the process you should make sure you have full administrator access on your computer. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I partitioned my 1TB with MBR, as my BIOS won't boot from GPT volume. It's working fine. Only the larger (over 2TB) drives require GPT to access the whole drive. I now have the 1TB as my boot drive, and a 3TB GPT for backups (required 64-bit Windows 7).
