QuestionI am not clear whether I need to use the vent kit for the Sharp SMD2470ASY drawer microwave. I intend to mount the unit "proud" (slight overhang), not flush with cabinet face. Is vent kit necessary for this? Will I get proper venting without vent kit?

- Answer Hello Steve, a flush mount kit is required when you are flush mounting the unit. If you are doing a regular installation, this is not required.

QuestionI see the height of the unit and the answer that a 7" coffee cup will fit in the drawer, but is that the depth limit, 7"? I have a popcorn popper that sits taller than that...does anyone know for sure how deep the drawer actually is? Thanks.

- Answer Hello, no there is not a trim kit for our drawer microwaves. The only accessory for the SMD2470ASY is the flush mount deflector vent kit and this is an optional accessory.

- Answer Correct, there is no turntable. There is no reason to turn the food, it heats up evenly.

QuestionMy cabinet opening is 23” by 17”. Depth is 23.25”, not quite the 23.5” per spec. Will this work? My electrical outlet is upper right in the back, but I’m willing to relocate. Cover the gap or leave open? Gap at top or bottom (I.e. raise unit or no)?

- Answer Hello, the unit has an outside dimension which is 23 7/8" x 15 7/8" x 23 1/64" (wxhxd). In regards to wanting to know if the unit will fit your cabinet space, it is best recommended to consult with a professional installer so that they can advise you on this. Facing the unit, the power cord is located in the top left corner at the back of the unit.
