Thank you for your interest in the FP-A60U Sharp air purifier. It is recommended that you change the HEPA filter at least every 2 years. It is recommended that you change the deodorizing pre filter about every six months. The times can vary depending on usage, room environment and location. The filters should be checked regularly and replaced as needed.

These newer units have a very poor pre filter that is too small does not fit properly allowing dust and dirt go around it and straight into the Hepa filter,which are 60 to 90 dollars if you can find them.

Please try again later.All depend on room you have, pets e.t.c If its high traffic area than often if just bedroom not so much - you will see yourself on the filter if is the time to replace or not. Also if you have dog or cat than you will replace filter more often as this unit will pickup for cleaning a lots of their hairs.
