Once you connect Spotify in the Sonos app the speaker works by voice command.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t use Spotify with the Sonos because I don’t have Spotify premium. Premium is required for use through the Sonos. You can play from the Spotify app using Apple AirPlay to send it to Sonos, but then you would need the device present to continue playing it—similar to a Bluetooth connection. I’m not sure how non Apple devices work with it. Anyone can control what plays from the Sonos app downloaded on their device. So you can turn music on with your phone and leave the house without it stopping. And your kids can also change what’s playing as long as they have a device with the Sonia app that’s connected to the system. It works off of the WiFi connection in your home rather than the Bluetooth connection on your phone. So any device with the app can control it.
