  • QuestionIs there a difference of XR Triluminos Pro vs Cognitive XR?

    Asked by Ray.

    • Answer Hi Ray, Thank you for your interest in our Sony BRAVIA TVs! The XR Triluminos Pro and Cognitive XR are two distinct technologies used in Sony's BRAVIA XR TVs, each serving different purposes to enhance the viewing experience. The Cognitive XR refers to the Cognitive Processor XR, which is the brain behind the BRAVIA XR TVs. It analyzes and adjusts each frame in real-time to deliver the best possible contrast, clarity, and detail. The Cognitive Processor XR also enhances the audio experience by ensuring that the sound matches the on-screen action, providing a more immersive experience. XR Triluminos Pro: This technology is designed to deliver a wide color gamut and precise color reproduction. It enhances the color accuracy and vibrancy of the display, making the images look more lifelike and vivid. This is particularly beneficial for displaying a broad range of colors, ensuring that the colors are not only rich but also true to life. Hope this helps! Brilliant pictures. • QuestionThe problem that I'm having is that I'm watching the tv & all of a sudden, the tv turns off by itself. It does that several times. When I tried to turn it back on it won' let me with the remote, so I have to unplug it. Had to return & get another one. Why

    Asked by Gee.

    • Answer Hi Gee, This is not the experience that we want you to have. Different variables may contribute to the TV turning off by itself. Rest assured that there are no known issues with the BRAVIA 8 TV. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the latest software version of the TV. If you encounter this issue, make sure to turn off some settings of the TV (energy saver, sleep timer, auto shut-off). Disconnect all external devices from the TV (USB, LAN, HDMI, Antenna, etc.) except the AC power cord (mains lead) and verify that external devices are not causing the issue. If it has improved, reconnect the devices one at a time until you find the device causing the issue. If still not resolved, reset the TV to factory settings: 1. On the supplied remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button or HOME button depending on your TV. 2. Select Settings. 3. Select System → About → Reset → Factory data reset → Erase everything → Yes. Hope this helps. In case you need further assistance, please let us know. • QuestionHow Do I put a full or complete screen when I see movies on Netflix.? Tv displays a black line up and down like a cine mode. I tried all the options and Can’t put it normal.

    Asked by Yesse.

    • Answer Hi Yesse, We understand your need for a full screen when using the TV. Some programs aren't in full screen when produced. Some movies are in a 21:9 cinema format which will show black bars on the top and bottom when you view them on a widescreen (16:9) TV. As a workaround, you can adjust the horizontal to vertical ratio of the screen and the display area: 1. While a broadcast or HDMI input image is displayed, press the MENU button on the remote control. 2. Set from the menu displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can change the following main settings: -Wide mode You can change the screen size to fit the video. You can watch in the optimal screen mode. -Display area You can change the display area. Hint: -When 4096 × 2160p is input and [Wide mode] is set to [Vertical fit], the resolution is displayed as 3840 × 2160p. To display 4096 × 2160p, set [Wide mode] setting to [Horizontal fit], [Auto] or [Full]. If you are using an external device, you can check the settings of the external device to match the highest resolution your TV can process. Please refer to the manual of the external device. Hope this helps. In case you need further assistance, please let us know.
