QuestionCan you use a np-fh70 or can you only use the np-fvxx batteries, on the new ax700 from sony? Voltage is nearly the same, 7.2 vs 7.4, the mAh is lower for the FH 1500 vs 3400 connection look the same on both of them.

- Answer I bought a CX900 open box and it was the camera only. It was the stores display camera. Heck of deal though. Had to buy a battery and charger but I still saved 100's of dollars.

Questiondraining charged battery while it's in idle situation .I have Sony camcorder hdr-cx280e which comes with battery model no. np-fv30. I am not using this camcorder frequently,It used occasionally.Now my question is that ,I put this camcorder with full charged after using it.but,if I used this camcorder after 1 or 2month, the battery is discharged.So,how can I retain battery into this camcorder So,I can get full charged even after long period of idleness of battery. So, pls guide us.

- Answer A rechargeable battery will slowly discharge over time even without being used. If you plan on storing the camera for extended periods of time I would suggest to fully discharge the battery. When you know you will be using the camcorder, charge the battery the night before. That way you will know for certain you have a fully charged battery.

- Answer Is it just 'not recommended' to protect the profits of the corporation, or will it physically or electrically not work, or work with reduced capability? I was willing to pay the premium for an OEM replacement. Sony has discontinued all but the smallest OEM batteries for this unit (the HDR-SR11/12) which was a top-of-the-line unit a few short years ago. Sony has now left me with potentially sketchy third-party alternatives... I am now MUCH LESS likely to pay the premium to buy a Sony product in the future, just to be orphaned like that again. 'Fool me twice...' as the saying goes. Beware all Sony buyers, this will happen to YOU someday too.

- Answer According to this: http://store.sony.com/-cms-page.sony.di.battery.compatibility, and the retail packaging, which has the "H Series" logo, might be worth trying.
