- Answer By all means, use banana plugs if you can, though the standard 5-way connections allow for bare wire or banana plugs on the front 2 speakers. The surround speakers must use bare wire. The 2 sub-woofer inputs use standard RCA subwoofer cable connections. Your subwoofers must have those types of connections too, or somehow you'll need to convert the subwoofer bare wire connections on the cable to RCA on the receiver end.

- Answer For absolute clarity: The Front L/R can use banana plugs or bare wire; the Center and Surround L/R use only the bare-ended wire.

- Answer Yes you can. Go to the Sony website and download the supplimental manual for help in using the more cryptic functions. When you rename an input, it changes on the receiver but does not change in the on-screen display.

- Answer Yes, just plug it into the hdmi as normal. There is even an onboard 5V 1A USB for power, so you dont need the power block.

- Answer Hi RV, Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, no. The Sony SA-WCT260H subwoofer is a proprietary component of the HT-CT260H soundbar. We recommend connecting an active subwoofer that can connect to the RCA subwoofer out port of the receiver. Hope this helps! -Sam

- Answer Yes, but if you’re only wanting it for an fm stereo receiver...you’d be better off buying a two channel model. I’d recommend the Sony STRDH190 2-ch Stereo Receiver with Phono Inputs & Bluetooth (you’d save a lot of money)!

QuestionI have my dad's old turntable, receiver (very old and broken) and speakers. Would this work in the old receivers place? I need something that will be able to be connected to the turntable and speakers and get is all working, and someone to hook it up!

- Answer Hi Jen, Yes, you can connect a turntable to this receiver. However, to connect a turntable that only has a PHONO output jack, you need to connect a phono equalizer (not supplied) between the turntable and this receiver. When it comes to speaker, as long as the speaker is 6-16ohms, then it should work properly with this receiver. Thanks! ^Ron
