Yes. If card has magnetic strip, Square can read it. They have a new Square reader, more expensive, that takes chip cards, but I just haven't had any problems with chipped cards using the cheap version.

It will work with a chipped card as long as you don't have a chip reader hooked up to your phone. If your chip reader is within range it will require you to use the chip reader. If you don't have a chip reader any kind of card can be used with this magatrip reader.

Yes- you can still swipe a card with a chip.

I've never had a problem processing a card on it. But I haven't paid attention as to whether or not they had a chip. They do make a reader that is designed specifically for chip readers and strips as well.

yes it will process by swipe, you don't have to use their chip.
