If you tap the PS button & go to the speaker icon you can select a different audio output device without unplugging the dongle. I do it all the time when i switch from my AV receiver to my headset.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The PS5 will not automatically switch back and fourth, you have to manually select between the headset or the other audio output device(s) that you have when using or not using the headset in the sound settings on the PS5, you can access it in the quick menu when you press the PS button on your PS5 controller and tab over to the sound option

If you’re on the PS5, you can switch the audio output back to your TV simply by going to your control hub (tapping the PlayStation button once in the center of your controller), scroll/drift over to sound, then go to output and choose your tv. You’ll have to do it every time you load up the PS5 as the sound will automatically go to your headset. But it’s a simple fix and it takes less than 10 seconds to do. And if you want to switch the sound back to your headset after putting the sound through your tv/sound bar, you can follow the same steps I mentioned above.
