CE is an abbreviation of Color Enhancement. The TI-84 Plus has a few more unrecognizable programs, those of which you'll never really use. The TI-84 Plus CE basically offers more memory for the optional programs that can be downloaded free online from Texas Instruments (instructions provided in the manual when purchased), offers color for various graphing, and has a rechargeable lithium battery that can also be replaced if needed (TI-84 Plus doesn't have). Wiser investment - my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Jim, you can compare the two calculators here, https://education.ti.com/en/us/product-resources/graphing_course_comparision. But the primary difference is that the CE has a color display, rechargeable battery and slim design.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.CE stands for crappy electronics. I'm an electrical engineer and this thing is terrible, it can't even do complex numbers and polar math. The interface is laborious. I returned it and bought an HP Prime. I can't understand why it is getting good reviews!
