I assume that there is a stud wall against the concrete wall like in a finished basement. Yes you will need to locate the studs to anchor the mount to. You can use a stud finder (not a dating service ;) ) to find the studs. Another way is to measure from the nearest outlet that is normally attached to a stud. Studs are typically on 16" centers. There are basically two types of wall mounts. One only allows the TV to be tilted out from the wall while the other will allow the TV to be moved out from the wall and rotated and/or tilted to allowing different viewing positions.
