A:AnswerHi! As long as your router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal is encrypted (password protected) and adequately strong at the Smart Bulb's location, you can easily set up and manage it via the Tapo app.
A:AnswerI would not recommend it. For the product to work properly it needs to have a constant flow of power, meaning the circuit would need to remain in the on position. This is so that wireless module is always on and the product can accept commands even if its turned off.
A:AnswerTP-Link Smart Products work on 2.4GHz only. 5GHz is not needed as the data rate is low and does not need the larger bandwidth that 5Ghz provides
A:AnswerYes, each of the bulbs will be installed in the Tapo app as a separate smart bulb with its own name. So each bulb can be controlled individually with its own settings.
A:AnswerThe Tapo app and ecosystem support both Kasa and Tapo devices. We suggest using the Tapo app to conveniently manage both your Kasa and Tapo devices from one interface.
A:AnswerThe energy monitoring for a bulb is more monitoring the energy consumption of the bulb. not monitoring of anything else. The temperature in the operating specs is related to environmental temperature, not the temperature of the white light, which is in Kelvins. As long as you keep the bulb within the operating specs the use of it in a celling fan enclosure should not be a problem.
Once thing to note would be that you do not want to use a smart bulb on a dimmer circuit. While the bulb can be dimmed it should only be done through the software of the bulb and not a physical reduction of power from a manual switch.
A:AnswerNo - they are not the same. According to another post:
TP Link Kasa Bulbs - KL135
- Work with Kasa app
- Work with Deco Wifi App
- Brightness and Colour transition is smooth
- Can be turned off and on at the light switch and will not lose wifi connection ie. can be used as a regular bulb.
Older product (looks like being phased out)
TP-Link Tapo L530E Smart MultiColour Light Bulbs
- Works with Tapo app
- Does not work with Deco Wifi App
- Brightness and Color transition is stepped (noticeable flicker). Some folks hate this.
- Will lose wifi connection when switched off and on at the light switch. So they flicker 3 times and have to be re-paired. (This is a major problem--I moved to TPLink and switched away another smart plug adapter that had to be re-set after power loss)
None of this verified personally - citing another reviewer. I went with the Kasa KL135 because of this.
Newer product. Possibly from an acquisition.
