The sound is pathetic, awful, substandard, and none-existing. The picture is fine. I now have two of them, the original,and the replacement that was mailed to me an hour ago. Both have no sound recording ability. After contacting Vivitar, the rep could barely speak english, and tried to send me a third one. They know absolutely nothing about their own product, and suggested I call HSN for better help. Maybe, HSN will tell me to call Vivitar back. B.S. on both ends. Never again....
