My VIZIO smart tv is from 2015. I recently purchased a VIZIO 2.1 Soundbar with Subwoofer Model V21t-J8 I connected everything with the exception of the Digital Optical Cable. I cannot connect the other to the back of my TV. Is my TV too old? null

So, I doubt there is any way it’s the age of your TV. If you have an ARC option (HDMI) for output, use that. I am using the optical output option on my setup, and it is great. Just remember to cycle through the inputs on the Soundbar, once you connect the TV and soundbar. I can’t envision any issue with a 2015 tv.
