The actual handheld portion is about the size of a fat finger, with the thin water jet off of the top. I originally bought the handheld version because we didn't want anything else big on the sink - but it was bulky to use and the water reservoir was too small to finish cleaning my mouth even once. This unit fulfills our needs.
