Best Buy has a bad habit of listing items that aren't for sale yet, and an even worse habit of listing items that have no concrete release date. That is the case with these drives - They are sold out because they aren't out yet, and we don't know exactly when they'll be out (but should be soon.)

They are sending fake items. I received a 0.5TB hard drive inside a box for 18TB and they will not take the return. I'm out $631.

I saw one in store by chance and decided to double my storage space for Time Machine backups. Previoously had 8Tb WD hard drive. Its the same footprint and works great. Regarding stock, more popular items seem to be flying off shelves still if they are even getting deliveries. I am a consumer and dont work for Best Buy
