Power surges are a weekly thing where I live. I'm now the fastest microwave clock reseter in the world!!! As for the Wemo light switches I installed 4 switches 5 months ago and have literally not touched them after programming on/off and dusk/dawn. We've lost power many time briefly without any issues with my programming. Have not had the situation with a long power outage but from what I've heard it will not effect your programming either!! Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The device does not have a battery back-up, but it will retain its rules/programs when the power comes back. Please note that this device is just a smart switch, this is not considered as a security device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When my power went out, I just had to wait for wifi to power back up and the switches resumed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you do not. We lost power two days ago and and the switches were back on and working as programmed. As soon as the power was back
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. programming is either handled within the app or within a third-party app/platform. Although the device cannot function during a power outage, it should power-up and work as it did before as soon as power is restored.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have lost power several times and the WEMO's restarted after power was restored.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We experienced a couple of power outages, including a power overload that popped the breakers and required a manual reset, and our WEMO light switches came back unscathed and on their own. No reprogramming is required. The only time we had to reprogram was when we sold the house and migrated them to the new owner's control.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, they will reconnect after power comes back on, but I don't what will happen if they get hit by lightning or power surges. Can they be burnt out?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is an ordinary WiFi Device. Does your computer reconnect to your WiFi when the power comes back on? Does your printer reconnect to the WiFi hotspot when the power comes back on? Do you reprogram all your WiFi devices when the power comes back on?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it will communicate with the router once power is restored. There is a much bigger issue though with the Wemo light switch. Once you link it to your network it is never erased from it. it you would rmove it from your wall box and give it or sell it to someone across town or anywhere, once they put in on their network and go outside with the phone app they will be able to see all your other Wemo devices in your home. The switch stores the network name and password and does not erase it. I know this because i bought one, linked to my router. i did not have as much use for it as i though and a friend of mine needed one. I removed it from my electrical box and took it to his house miles away. After we got it hooked up we went outside to see if the app would work. All of MY other Wemo devices appeared on my friend's phone. The 2 networks got crossed up. It is Cloud problem. He not only could see my devices he could turn them on and off and set any schedule as well. it took weeks and multiple calls to finally get their Cloud technicians to fix it. talk about a security flaw. Belkin knows all about this issue. i think it has been present since they launched the Wemo Light switch. You really can't sell it to anyone else unless you have no other Wemo devices in your home.
