Yet another solid product from Logitech

Logitech has never let me down. This is another example of a quality product that, while not a cheap mouse, still punches above its dollar amount. The mouse is full size(as opposed to some smaller Logitech wireless mice) and has a good feel in the hand. The front/back buttons are great and all buttons are programmable. The mouse wheel click to open a new tab has to be pressed pretty hard, that's my only complaint and a minor one at that. Paired with a Logitech MX wireless keyboard and it doesn't look out of place, but I couldn't justify the cost of the MX mouse.

While this isn't a high-end ergonomic mouse or one used for gaming, this model is perfect for daily office use. I know longer have to worry about a chord. And my hand fits comfortably over the mouse. The two side buttons allowing for easy toggling between web pages is a terrific feature along with the button below the wheel that adjusts scrolling speed. Upgrading from my now retired $8.00 mouse was great idea. One doesn't need to splurge on a high end mouse if the use is only daily scrolling and navigating web pages and documents.

For the money, it’s a great mouse. I like the size, the forward and back buttons, and the long battery life. This my second M705 mouse. That said, there are a few things that could use improvement and I’m sure it’s software related. Every so often, the cursor will not move smoothly and I have to restart my Mac. The Logitech Control Center no longer works properly with Catalina so I had to download a shareware app to enable the forward/back on a my Mac. (That shouldn’t be an issue on a PC.) I’m sure I could find a mouse that improves on this but it would likely cost twice as much or more.

Product is excellent. Support is lousy at the Manchester CT store. I inquired on whether this mouse was compatible with my Mac book Air both when I bought it and on a subsequent visit and was told that it was. No mention was made that I needed an adapter to make it work. This was important and necessary information that needs to be communicated to the buyer especially if questions are being asked. It took a call to Logitech support and a return trip to the store to figure stuff out Thanks to Steven at the Manchester store for this assistance and purchase of the adapter from his own pocket. Not necessary but totally appreciated

    Wonderful Workplace Wireless Marathon Mouse

I purchased this mouse to replace the rope-a-dope $20 mice they were providing me at work. For not much more than that, I got a nice wireless mouse (that hasn't run out of batteries since purchase so far). The Marathon has a great feel and heft in hand, which lends to a good impression of high build quality (I'm not taking it apart to verify though). I appreciated the very small size of the wireless dongle (it protrudes about 4 mm), I left it plugged into the side of my laptop for several weeks, and it never caught on anything. The primary right, middle, and left buttons have a nice tactile response. I feel the forward/back buttons on the side of the mouse are slightly small and hard to hit, but not enough such that I feel that it requires deducting points for the mouse's design. The infinite scroll feature on the mouse-wheel is great when navigating large data structures, and even when in normal mouse-scroll mode, the wheel has a great weight and feel to it. Since I use this mouse at work, I can't really speak to it's gaming performance, but I would say that I generally prefer a mouse with a larger size and shape for gaming purposes. As the Marathon mouse is nominally targeted at mobile usages, its size is slightly smaller than a "standard" size mouse. Overall, I find using this mouse to be a huge step up in experience over the previous mice I was using at work. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a compact, long-lasting wireless mouse.

    Comfortable With Great Battery

Got this mouse for use at work after my old wireless one started freaking out. This was pretty easy to setup and get going. It's really comfortable and I have wrist issues so that matters. Battery life has been fantastic on month 12 of daily use and haven't replaced it yet. I really like having the forward/back button and the additional "squeeze" button on the thumb. Only reason I am docking a star is because when you switch from between having the incremental/click on the scroll wheel versus to smooth scroll it get's too easy. I like to have free scroll on most mouses but this one is too fluid and makes it hard to avoid over scrolling.

I did some research before deciding on the M705. This Logitech model came up on my search as the number one wireless mouse of 2016. I haven't tried other models, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it has been great so far. I've been using it for two months, mainly for school, and trust me, you will be far better off with a mouse while in an MBA program. The M705 is a bit pricey, but I see it as paying for comfort--it's not too small, but not too big either, like a giant ergonomic mouse. The sensitivity settings are sufficient, though the scrolling sometimes gets out of control (or it could just be user error). Overall, I would recommend the M705.

The Logitech M705 Marathon mouse has about 8 different functions and most of them are programmable or you can just disable a function if you prefer, thru the driver software. I disabled the three buttons that are in the area of my right thumb, I am right handed...so I did not accidentally hit them, while I was getting use to the mouse. The one feature I really like on this mouse is the option to have a "free wheeling" scroll wheel. You can click on the button just behind the scroll wheel and toggle the scroll wheel so it is "free wheeling" and smooth with no feeling of "detents" and is extremely fast or you can use the same button to toggle it to create the familiar "detent" scroll wheel feel which also tells the scroll wheel to move just the number of lines you have set it for (within the driver software) to move in the scroll area...3 lines per detent is usually the default. Sometimes in free wheeling mode the area scrolled will drop (scroll) back down somewhat when you are trying to stop the scrolling motion and you have to move the scroll wheel up a little more to position it back to where you wanted it, but when you get used to the sensitivity of the movement on the scroll wheel it is acceptable. I love the free wheeling mode when I am 10 or twelve pages down in an article or reading reviews and I what to get back to page one I just give that wheel a sharp finger flick and away it goes, no more pawing at the scroll wheel moving the usual defaulted three lines at a time. But if I need or want the detents back...I just press the toggle button...quick and easy !

Original Version Is Great, This One Is Too

I still own and use the original version of the M705 with the longer USB receiver. It has taken a lot of abuse over the years and still works, even though a few times I thought it was dead from being dropped about three feet onto a hardwood floor. It just keeps on working. I wanted the newer version with the nanoreceiver/transmitter to use in more portable laptops. This M705 mouse is the most ergonomically comfortable mouse I have ever used. It's perfect for my hand. I don't particluarly like the free-wheeling scroll wheel (not enough control using it), and I find myself going back and forth between it and the clicking scroll wheel. Fortunately, the toggle switch is right on the top of the mouse for easy access. The old version had a sort of rotating/sliding switch that provided a variable degree of tension that provided more control. The new mouse is either free-wheeling or clicking. Logitech should bring that variable feature back. Battery life is significantly better in the new version--thank you for that! The on/off switch on the bottom of the mouse is much better than the old version. Now it's a simple slide switch. All of the buttons are customizable using the Logitech software, but the mouse can be used "generically" if you want. Maybe one day Logitech will add some cool colors for this model. They could probably sell a lot more if they did. But for comfort and functionality, this is definitely my #1 preferred mouse for home/work use. Thanks to Best Buy for still carrying it.

I really like this mouse due to it size and comfort. I have a small hand but I still want a larger mouse for comfort. The roller is smooth and tracks well. My only gripe my first one fell on the floor and caused the wheel to get knocked out of alignment and the right button wouldn't work. So I bought a new one because I really like the mouse. Wish it would a true Bluetooth instead of using a dongle.

This is absolutely great. There are just 2 differences (not problems) from other mice I have used. The first is the scroll wheel being "slippery." When I scroll past rungs on the scroll wheel, it is very easy to slip past and go to the next rung. The next, is middle clicking (pushing the scroll wheel down) is a bit difficult to hit precisely. I need to push the wheel at different angles, which is not that much of a hassle, but it is a difference with other mice, in order to middle click. Lastly, which is a personal problem, is that the mouse is a bit small for my hands. It is still ok, but just not perfectly snug in my hand. I have an 11cm hand span for reference.

This is my third M705 mouse since 2013 and is still one of my favorite in terms of form factor for desktop use. I find the MX Master mouse a bit bulky and the MX Anywhere (which I have) to be great for portability but a bit short/flat for my hand. The M705 fits my hand perfectly and is the most comfortable mouse I have and I prefer it over my MX series (full size and original Anywhere) mice for work. Battery life is excellent and I actually don't remember the last time I changed the batteries. I only wish Logitech would keep the same form factor and update it to include bluetooth, ability to use on multiple computers, and the ability to use anywhere (like on glass). i would gladly pay more for a more fully featured model. Otherwise, this is definitely my favorite mouse amd one of the best in terms of value and comfort for me and a good choice for those who do not want to spend $100+ on a mouse. If you are considering one of the cheaper mice, pay a little more and get this one. I have cheaper Logitech mice at the office and the difference is noticeable enough that I paid for this one myself out of pocket.

The mouse is fantastic. It actually does have an insane battery life: the application keeps reading 1000+ days. The fit and finish is solid; it fits my palm / claw hybrid grip well. Sensor looks solid: it's gliding just fine on top of a leather-covered desk. It uses 125Hz polling (likely for battery life); works fine on my 60Hz monitor. The scroll wheel's dual modes are fantastic. Very smooth <-> ratchet. And no, my fingers have never accidentally switched modes. Yes, the USB transmitter can be hidden inside the mouse underneath the battery cover (there's a slot for it). The little "sensor" button on the bottom left (that activates an "alt-tab" like interface in Windows 10) is HUGE for productivity. Really useful, when you have 10+ windows open. All in all, a solid mouse. Light enough to be mobile, heavy enough to feel to feel solid in hand. The negatives: in the beginning, I used to side scroll accidentally instead of middle-clicking. Side scroll doesn't seem to work in most places, so I just reassigned it to forward-back on websites. Now, I'm much more "precise" with middle click vs left scroll vs right scroll. Otherwise, I love it! :D

Very good witless mouse. Works on many surfaces, quick and accurate response. Several programmable buttons make it very useful with many software applications. Good battery life, uses AA batteries-not rechargeable this would be the only issue but not a deal breaker. Batteries do last a long time.

I had to buy a Lenovo laptop for WGU to replace my aging macbook. The mouse pad is off centered on the Lenovo, which DRIVES ME NUTS after getting use to years of center mousepad on the macbook. This wireless mouse solved my HUGE frustration and now I like my Lenovo for the most part. The mouse is easily paired and is well made. It just always works. It has two double A batteries and they last for a long time. I always forget to turn off the mouse. I have since gotten a logitech keyboard with my ipad 12.9 and love it, too. Logitech just seems like a great all around brand to me. It is a little higher priced, but it seems well worth the little extra in my opinion.
