Thank you for your review. The V6 cordless is one of the most powerful handhelds available and features two modes; standard mode and max power mode. On standard mode, it will utilize 28 airwatts of suction power and on max mode it will utilize 100 airwatts. For pet hair and heavy-duty pickups we advise engaging the max for more powerful performance.
Regarding the battery life, the V6 cordless features a 20 minute run time on standard mode before the battery runs out. That is because V6 has a run time enhancing trigger – meaning that you are only using energy when you really want to be cleaning, rather than leaving it running when you’re moving furniture or moving from one room to the next. In developing the V6, Dyson engineers researched how long people like to clean, and found that the vast majority of people clean for less than 25 minutes in one session. Many people, for example those living in apartments in metropolitan areas, find 26 minutes proves to be long enough. Although if you live in a much bigger home, we would recommend that V6 be used for in-between cleans, rather than deep whole home cleans.
Further, using a nickel manganese cobalt battery pack, the V6 releases its charge evenly so there is no drop in performance. Other cordless machines may claim longer run times, but thanks to fading batteries, clogging bags and filters, they can quickly lose up to half their suction power in use.

Posted .Hi there, this is Joe with Dyson. The V6 can be easily used as a stick style vacuum or you can remove the wand with a push of a button to use the machine as a handheld vacuum to get into tight spaces that a floor vacuum cannot reach. It is also great to use to clean in the car.
