I have been using Shark vacuums for quite some time, as they seem to be more effective at removing dust and other particles than other brands and are also more competitively priced. This particular vacuum has a lot of nice features, such as lift away and the ability to flatten for vacuuming under beds and couches. It is also relatively light.

Before purchasing I researched all of the Shark vacuums (which was crazy confusing). I found out after I bought it, that it has a smaller motor then the others but it has more suction then any other vacuum I've ever used. Very pleased! :)

This vacuum is incredible. One room and the vacuum is full! (And yes, I vacuum frequently). I have a large dog who sheds a lot and this vacuum picks up all of the short hair from the carpet. Also the lift-away function allows you to go underneath the bed, chairs etc easily. There is also a powerful light that lights up and lets you see dark tight spots really well (closet, underneath the cabinets etc). This vacuum is the best purchase!!!

I'd actually give this 4-1/2 stars. We got this to replace our 1986 Kirby (heavy); it is not featherweight but much lighter. On the plus side: great suction that is adjustable for more fragile things, easy to get into "liftaway" mode for going under furniture, large dust cup is easy to empty. The ease in going from rugs or carpet to bare floors is great. Pickup is so good that we decided not to buy the motorized pet brush attachment.The minuses: klutzy in liftaway mode, you end up having to carry the canister in one hand and vacuum with the other. There is no trolley available for this model; would have gladly spent the extra money for that. The ball connection that is supposed to keep the hose in place on in the handle comes loose constantly. Cord management needs work, it also comes loose and gets in the way. Overall, we really like the vacuum. One can spend (a lot) more and get a version that includes a trolley for the canister.

I purchased this vacuum about 18 months ago and have absolutely loved it since the first time I used it. Then a few weeks ago I was vacuuming and the motor stopped running. While examining it I noticed there was a crack in the lower nozzle hose between the wheels. I took it to a repair shop only to find out the “motor had burned out”. The technician said it was pretty typical of a two year old Shark and there was nothing they could do. Luckily Shark said it was covered under the warranty so all I had to pay for was the shipping cost. Great! Then I find out that the cracked hose is not covered under warranty and can’t be replaced. I have to replace the whole mechanism that the hose is attached to. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. So basically I’ve spent about $70 to replace parts for a $250 vacuum that isn’t even 2 years old. The Shark representative told me I’m just one of the “unfortunate few who had this hose crack”. Not sure how that’s supposed to make me feel. Also not sure what I’ll do if this happens again in 18 months. Disappointed to say the least.

I bought online after spending time comparing several models. Once I got home and I unboxed I was greatly disappointed. The online specifications are wrong. The attachments that come with this vacuum are the cheapest ones for this series. I bought specifically because I wanted the listed pet power brush for my stairs and dust-away pro and micro pad cleaner for my hardwoods. Instead I got the cheap hard floor hero and pet multi-tool. As for the vacuum I am greatly impressed in cleaning ability and versatility. But angered at the false advertising on the part of Best Buy

I bought this vacuum in December 2016 and thought it was amazing. It's now April, and it has completely stopped working. I called customer service yesterday and had someone very rude who acted like I was a complete idiot and then hung up on me. My husband called today, and he was hung up on almost immediately. We can't get anyone to help us, and it seems like we are going to be stuck buying a new vacuum. I can guarantee you that we will NEVER buy a Shark vacuum again.

(As of the time of this writing...) The video attached to this vacuum shows a different model of Shark vacuum (one of the Apex models) so when we bought this SKU based on the demo video it was a totally different one. Make sure you’re buying this based on its own merits and not a video for a different one. (This is in no way a reflection of this vacuum, Best Buy needs to fix the video.)
