I have been using a single cup coffee maker for awhile. I just don't drink a pot a day or have company over enough to do that. But I love my coffee. My ninja bar came with a milk frother, a 50 oz carafe, removable water tank and measuring spoon. permanent filter, quick start guide, instructions and a recipe book. Its lightweight and doesn't take up as much room as I thought. The ninja coffee bar give me the option to have either a single cup, XL cup, travel mug, half a pot or full pot with ease. I don't have to mess with single cups or figuring out math for the measurements to make the coffee just right. It takes away the confuse and does the math for you with the double sided measuring spoon. I love that they thought of that. The maker has a water reservoir attached to it to help to avoid the constant carrying of water to and from and helps to avoid spills. If you are doing jus the single cups it will last you awhile versus the half or full pot. It detaches from the machine and you can carry it over to sink or fridge to fill with water close the lid then attach back to the machine. Its very simple to attach and detach. The measuring spoon and frother attach to the left side of the machine its all self containing. If you remove the carafe there's a flip down plate were you can put ur cup for a single serve or if you need more space you can flip it back up and place your travel mug. Where you set the carafe or travel mug is also a built in hot plate. The hotplate will read to see how much coffee is in the carafe and will adjust the temp accordingly to avoid the coffee from getting that burnt taste. The bar has a cleaner option that you should run twice before using the first time and as you need to . There is also a dial where you can select the cup, xl cup, travel mug, half carafe or full carafe. It lights up so you can easily tell which one is selected. below it has the setting to tell that the drip stop is either off or on. It will not start the brew and will give a beep warning if you select to start the coffee and the drip stop is on. It has a preheat option to allow the coffee to warm up. A clock, and a delay setting to allow you set a time for the coffee to brew at another time. The permanent filter makes it super easy for set up and clean up but you can also choose to use a paper filter. I prefer the permanent filter for easy use and saves money. You can remove the filter or the container with the drip stop and filter to carry it over and help to throw out the grinds. The bar can do classic brew, rich brew, ice brew, or specialty. The brew time is pretty fast and you have the option to stop the brew by flipping the drip stop option. The coffee that the bar produces is great, I can tell the difference between other coffee makers. I am super happy with the coffee bar.

This is the second time I have tried this product. The first time it worked great but after a 9 months stopped making coffee. Finally had enough and returned for a new model. Guess what? After 10 months, same issues (not making coffee, no matter how many times I cleaned it). I’m done with this product. Looks flashy, but doesn’t last long.

Fantastic for about a year, then the coffee pot would sporadically stop brewing before the amount you chose. No amount of cleaning or descaling would help. Ninja website was ridiculously unhelpful and only has a 1 year extended warranty.

We were so hopeful for this machine but only after 2 weeks, and 6 cycles, it failed to brew, pull water and heat. Tried everything research could suggest without voiding the warranty. Returned it to the store without issue, Thanks Best Buy for an easy return +1 star for the in-store return for an online purchase.

The coffee pot does a lot, just doesn't do a lot well. The frother was weak, the coffee never tasted right. After just a couple weeks it suggested a cleaning. We did what the manual said exactly, after that the coffee tasted so bad and burnt it was undrinkable. So I don't suggest it.

Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this unit. Twice I’ve had to return it because it malfunctions. After about two or three months of use, the unit stops brewing coffee after 15 seconds. Thank God for Geek Squad Protection!

I waited for this product with excitement, a coffee bar, wow. It looks cool and is fairly simple to operate after initially being a bit intimidating. We start our day with a large cup of coffee and let's just say that I have a little coffee with my sweetener AND flavoring. Lol. We make a half carafe, just press the preheat button, fill the water reservoir, add your ground coffee and select 1/2 carafe. Quickly & quietly you get a good cup of coffee. It beeps to let you know when its ready and will keep the pot warm for 2 hours or you can program a hold time you prefer. Frankly it tastes just as good as my cuisine art grind, burr & brew with freshly ground beans. There are a number of options to select different size cups with different strengths. On cold afternoons we have tried some of the recipes in the book that comes with the Ninja. Every option I've tried works well an we've enjoyed the frother attachment. Things are convenient with the attached scoop and frother attachment right on the system. All this being said, a cheap coffee pot with a wire wisk would probably do the job. All of the speciality coffees are pretty much a result of whatever milk and syrup you add, the strength of your brew and the #of cups you choose. It is fun when you have company to let folks choose their own options. We really like our ninja coffee bar and our cuisine art has gone away. But folks, I just don't get why you would pay $6 for specialty coffee when all you need is a frother, syrup and milk/cream. Oh yes, don't forget your favorite coffee blend.

BEST drip bewer I've ever owned... 1-yr+

2nd gen Ninja Coffee Bar system One year into ownership & active use, I can defimitively say this 2nd-gen 10 cup Ninja Coffee Bar is the BEST drip brewer of all that I've owned over the course of 40+ years. Better and more versatile and ecomomical than all of the prestige, legacy name brand players, at any price. First, be very clear that the NCB system is NOT an "espresso" machine. It is an atmospheric pressure drip brewer, capable of making anywhere from variously sized single cups to 10 cups per single brew cycle. Second, it can brew strong to very strong drip coffee, without burning the oils in the coffee grounds. Very smooth, strong brews, rivaling "Clover" machine brews and perfectly suited for making iced and other mixed coffee concoctions. All brews result from strict 205°F drip temperature and variable drip flow control. As for some of the reports of operational malfunctions, the only time I overflowed a 12 oz cup was when I inattentively & accidentally dialed for an 18oz cup, instead. The free spinning brew-size selector should ALWAYS be double-checked for correctness before walking away from a brew. The NCB system uses a lot of hidden contact micro-switches. If those switches are DoA, the unit will have problems with safety and interrupting brews in progress. Fully test all features of the unit (while you are running your first two out-of-the-box water cleaning passes) to detect defective internal contact switches. If interrupted brews fail to hold the drip, if brewing can be started before the brew basket is fully seated & in place, then you have a LEMON to exchange. Also check for reservoir seal leaks. Any foreign object, like stray styrofoam packing particles, in the reservoir receiver can result in leaks, even with good rubber seals. Also, be aware that too finely ground coffee can cause brew basket overflow problems, that will not occur with standard drip grinds available in retail. If you opt to very finely grind your beans, then you must be prepared to experiment with how, much LESS you should fill the brew basket. Espresso-ground coffee can also compact at the bottom of the brew basket to the point of stopping the normal outflow. STANDARD DRIP GRIND is what the NCB system is designed to work with. Never had a single brew basket overflow using standard drip grind, and the recommended scoops, or when pausing a brew in-progress. I wash the basket (& carafe, if used) after each major round of brews (several cups in a row or a 1/2 or full carafe), simply by soaking them in a non-toxic restaurant coffee brewer cleaning solution (bought in bulk at steep discount, properly soak-diluted with hot tap water) for 20 minutes, rinsing thoroughly & drip drying. No coffee staining even under UV light, which means no burned coffee residue build-up over time. Try keeping one of those "x-cup" brewing machines as clean one year down the road. Decalcification, using the same solution, whenever the NCB signals for it, is also very important maintenance. The NCB will prompt for this long before you notice any reduction in drip flow/rate, but taking all the guess work out of needed decalcifying. You may also use white vinegar for cleaning/decalcifying(, but I personally dislike the in-process aroma.) I really like NCB Strong Brewed cups of Sumatra & Verona dark roasted beans. As I said, these rival filterless "Clover" brewed cups. I also use Japanese-sourced brown paper filters that impart no foreign flavors/aromas, are sustainably made and reasonably priced. (Do you really believe no plastic residues are imparted to the coffee using "x-cups," even if you don't taste/smell them?) I prefer the glass carafe for ease of cleaning. When I brew a full carafe for later use, I pour it into an air-tight glass mason jar & store at room temp. This is vastly superior to holding over heat and/or in a steel thermal carafe for taste over time. (Steel carafes are harder to keep pristinely clean over time, too.) But, I find that I'm typically brewing more cups (in series) than carafes with the NCB. I also own an espresso machine, which is why I can say that the NCB DOES NOT MAKE ESPRESSO. When I make espresso, I drink it neat, or with lemon or orange zest, akin to Japanese tea ceremony, bamboo-brush-whisked Matcha green tea. There are no true espresso shots coming from the NCB. Nevertheless, NCB Specialty & Cafe Forte brews are well-suited to replace espresso shots in iced and mixed coffee drinks. In those situations, the coffee flavor is deliberately taking a backseat and there is no resulting loss in the final presentation. At one year, plus, I am not looking for anything better than the 2nd gen Ninja Coffee Bar system. If/when this unit finally putzes, I will be looking for another NCB. Perhaps, gen 3?
