Honeywell is a brand that exemplifies exceptional , dependable, and solidly built products. This air purifier is a good example of honeywell craftmanship. The air purifier delivers too its' purpose by being a great product for it's cost ,a very functional and efficient room air purifier, and easy to program product.

My husband and I have been having a bad dust problem in our house, so we decided to splurge and buy this product. We found a sale at a competitor's store and Best Buy price-matched with no questions or fuss! There was a huge difference noticed overnight. The purifier is very quiet and have a comfortable air flow coming from it. It also smells clean- the odor reducer works very well. My only complaint is that the lights on the top of the machine are a little too bright, but I also prefer my room pitch black at night, so it may be a non-issue. I would very much rather have a clean room and it definitely does that! Very happy and worth the money not having to buy huge filters.

Bought this air purifier to help a dog with allergies to pretty much everything. While I did notice the plasticky smell everyone else notices, it's not anything I wouldn't expect from a brand new product made entirely out of... Wait for it... Plastic. It moved a great deal of air, and was whisper quiet on every level below 4. What ultimately lead to me returning this product however, was its build quality. The first few nights it worked spot on with no issues, but after about a week I began to notice several mechanical noises from the machine; A low thrumming from the motor became persistant even on "sleep" mode, and was irritating enough to keep me awake at night. I was also able to hear the oscillating motor after a few days, which was a simple fix by turning it off when not needed. These are things that would have been acceptable in a less expensive machine, but with such a high asking price ($249.99 at time of purchase), I expected much higher quality. Another niggle was the insanely bright lights on the top of the unit- had to throw a washcloth over it at night so it didn't light the entire room up, as they are unable to be turned off. I cannot attest to thr quality of the air during my ownership because I lack the equipment and don't personally have allergies, and I did not notice a decline in the amount of dust at all. The electrostatic filter did begin to change from a bright white to a pale white over a few days though, and a close visual inspection showed what the filter was picking up. Overall, I'd rate it a 6/10. Had the price been lower I would have better tolerated these issues, but I expect much more quality when I'm being asked for much more of my money.

Great product. Quiet and cleans and cools the air.

Unit is super quiet and looks great! This is the first air purifier where I can actually say that all settings are super quiet! I'm thinking about getting one for my study room because the smaller air purifiers are so loud. You can't go wrong with this unit.

In terms of functionality this is a great product. However in 4 years I had two of them die on me. ! had a fan bearing go out and the other one just stopped turning on one day. I like the filter it has but for the money I will be looking for a different product.

As soon as we plugged this in it made a difference. soothing sound to sleep to and felt much more refreshed next morning as allergies seemed to be minimal vs prior week's sleep

Works great i will keep buying more once the one i bought stops working i like the fact that it has permanent filter this is the best air purifier ive owned some people says it starts making rattling noise but that usually goes away if you fan blow it to clean it

This works exactly as I needed, keeps the allergens away while I’m sleeping and every setting is super quiet

My wife painted our room while I was at work, I didn't know. Butt coming home from work I walked in our room while she left to her sister house and I didn't smell the paint that would usually smell for a day or so but I did see the horribly freshly paint job she did. ( don't tell her I said that though)

I loved it, and then when my neighbors AC went out on one of the hottest nights of the year, I lent it to them. Their AC was fixed a couple of weeks ago and they still haven't returned my AirGenius (although they've said a couple of times that they need to get it back to me). Since they mow my lawn all the time for me for free, I may have to "gift it" to them and get another one -- and never lend it out.

The unit works very well. From the amount of dust I've had to clean from the filter I'm very happy with that. I've had the unit for about three months. A few weeks ago it started to make a rattling noise and it's getting worse and worse. Last night it got so bad I had to turn it off as it's in the bedroom and we keeping my wife and I awake. A quick online search of the problem revealed that this is a common problem for this unit (search for yourself and see). There is no fix as far as I can find. Thankfully I initiated my return two days before the Best Buy return window closed.

I would definitely recommend to purchase if you have pets

Well, bought this in the Chicago area, so paid $300 for it out the door. Wish people who smoked reviewed this or at least people with fire places. For the first day, it seemed to do what I'd hoped for, make the apartment air fresher. Then after about a week, my wife and I noticed that walls in our entire living room, dining room and kitchen now have a light grey tint to them. As does our white painted butcher block top cabinets, table, chairs and island. Also our stove and refrigerator. Now if you run your finger on any surface, it will be black afterward. Not to mention, the "washable" filter doesn't rinse out at all. Tried many cleaning solutions, pressurized water, soaking... entire media is black and the air coming out of it doesn't seem an cleaner than the air going into it. Now we need to clean every single surface in our entire house and will probably need to repaint as there are many stories on line stating how nearly impossible it is to get walls clean after something like this has happened. The best you can do is clean it with something aggressive to remove as much smoke residue as possible and then prime/paint over it. We have since unplugged this thing (and the smaller version we bought for the office) and replaced them with a true hepa paper type forced air filter. So, my $300 "genius" purchase has cost me $600 so far and I haven't even bought all the items it's going to take cleaning and repainting! If you have allergies, don't smoke and don't have a fireplace, then give this a shot. It is pretty quiet on it's medium setting while moving quite a bit of air, nearly inaudible at it's lowest setting.

I purchased this from Best Buy 2 weeks ago for $179.99, used it for one week and took it back for a refund before the 15 day return policy was up. I noticed absolutely no difference in air quality and the filter didn't have a speck on it. That's way too much money for an oscillating tower fan. I smoke in my home and have 2 indoor cats. I placed the unit in my living room, per instructions 3 feet from the wall and not quite 3 feet from "my spot" on the couch, which is about 2 feet from where one of my cats' beds is. I ran it constantly, night and day, for 4 days, on high at night and medium or low the rest of the time. After running for 4 days and noticing no change in the air, I removed the cover and checked the filters, as clean as when I put them in the unit. Since my living room is 18x16 and can't be completely closed off from the rest of the house, I thought perhaps the unit was too small for the room and moved it into my bedroom. I let it run in there for 3 days with no noticeable change. Filter remained clean as a whistle. My opinion is that if the filter didn't show anything after running for a week in my house, it's not really filtering or purifying the air. I didn't need a tower fan.

After less than a year, it is terrible. It does not filter any better than you taking a box fan and putting a furnace filter on it. It is all marketing hype, stick with a true HEPA filter if you want something such as dust to be filtered.
