Bottom line, I returned them. Pros– great sound, almost too portable, rechargeable case, jaybirds app is awesome to customize sound, water resistant and never fell out.. Cons– large headphones in the ears which maybe uncomfortable after more than an hour, while watching videos the sound wasn’t in sync with the video, battery life is so so at best, my charging case died within 2–3 weeks, and no comply foam tips. I think these headphones are great for the person who runs 5ks to half marathons and wants a great looking and great sounding headphone. If you train a lot like myself, you may need more battery life like the X3’s 8 hour battery life. I’m huge fan of jaybirds since the X1’s and owned 2 pairs of them. Cordless headphones are new so there’s bugs to be worked out as in all new products. On that note I can’t wait for the run 2.0’s.

The fit is very good the design is very ergonomic , but the bluetooth connection is Very bad, cut out the connection very often and the left earbud has low volumw than the right ear bud. I am a fan of jaybird since x buds to x3 and now the jaybird run made me so disappointed.

I bought the Jaybird brand because my husband likes his. I opted for complete wireless and he just has the Bluetooth ones with the cord connecting the two buds. These are cool little buds, good for working out without the bulk and the wires. They come with a few different tips to swap out. I have small ears so it took me a few tries to get the right combination. Now that I found it, these are perfect for running and they even stayed in during my boxing workout! I haven’t used them on a phone call yet so I can’t say how well they work with the phone. Musically these do the job. I just wish they could go a little bit louder that’s why I only gave 4 stars. Comes with a charging case that charges and stores them.

As far as earbuds these are worth every penny. I was sold on these because I could use them as a bluetooth and "switch" once the battery on one goes. Well not, it doesn't work. The one on left doesn't work if the right one is not on. So it is useless once the battery on the right is gone. It only last for 5 hours. So for a workout is plenty of time, not for a working day. The case for them charges them very quickly and it's very tiny and can fit in a pocket. But still I'm used to having my bluetooth on my left side.

I am a fairly serious runner and biker and have always been annoyed by the wires connecting my earphones to my iPhone so I decided to look into wireless earbuds. I considered the Apple AirPods but some friends who used them said that they can fall out if you sweat a lot during your workout, and frankly, I think they look a little weird. Fortunately, I found that Logitech has a great product called the Jaybird Run which provides a nice solution. The Jaybird Run earbuds are truly wireless and fit very securely in the ear. They are priced about the same as the AirPods but offer better features. Included in the box (see photo) are instructions, a wide variety of alternate tips and "fins" (which fit into the ear to secure the bud), a USB charging cable, a slim, moisture-resistant carrying case, a hard shell charging case and the earbuds. Jaybird also has a free app (of course!) that you download to your phone (either Android or iPhone versions) which gives you additional features. Everything looks extremely well made and the earbuds have a special coating to protect them from scratches and moisture. First step is to charge the ear buds in the clam shell charging case. Just attach the charging cable, plug it into your computer or a USB outlet and LED lights will tell you when they are fully charged. The case itself serves as a supplemental battery, holding two full additional fast charges even when disconnected from power. Pop the earbuds back into the case for 5 minutes and you have another hour of charge! Leave them in for half an hour and they are fully charged again. You can do that twice before the case itself needs recharging. Next, pair the earbuds with your phone via Bluetooth. An audio prompt guides you and the app gives full instructions, but my phone paired them quickly and without drama. Put the earbuds in your ears and the "fin" will secure it there. You can now start playing music immediately. The Jaybird Run will respond to various voice commands, allow you to interact with Siri, take calls, etc. You need to learn the various tap controls on the earbuds to activate some features but the app has full instructions. One quirk is connecting the app to the earbuds. You cannot be playing music while you connect to the app, but that issue resolved easily. The app gives you a nice equalizer feature, access to suggested Spotify playlists for working out and best of all - a "find my buds" tracking device in the unlikely event you lose one. Sound quality is superb, very clear, distortion-free with excellent midrange and highs. Even the bass is very good – perhaps not as deep as you could get from over-the-ear headphones but quite acceptable. The Jaybird Run earbuds are a bit heavier than unpowered earbuds but the very comfortable tip and securing fin will soon make you forget that they are even in your ear - except for the fact that you are surrounded by your music! Will they stay in? Yes!!! I took them for a long (three hour) run and never had a problem even as I worked up a good sweat in 80+ degree weather. But running is probably not the biggest test. Can you rely upon the fit while biking? The next day I went for an all-day ride over some rough roads and once again they performed perfectly. They never felt loose. I had to recharge them in the case after about 3.5 hours while I stopped for food but that was quick. The case is a bit bulky to keep in your pocket but for most workouts you can rely upon the 3-4 hour playing time from each charge and leave the case at home. The Bluetooth connection is very reliable. I have used the earbuds in my home and can walk 20 feet from my phone without a connection break. If you lose connection it quickly restores itself when you come back into range. Bottom line - the Jaybird Run earbuds are an excellent investment for anyone who is a serious music fan and wants a rock-solid reliable workout partner. You will not regret this purchase!!!

As I sit here, listening to smooth jazz(with my new JayBird Run Bluetooth Headphones), and staring at my guinea pigs as they graze on a fresh bale of supreme Timothy hay, I can't help but feel that these headphones are also great for things other than running. Hi Ray916,

Thank you for reaching out with your review, we can definitely help you get those reconnected. Try this reset below and if that does not work please reach out directly to Jaybirdlistens@jaybirdsport.com and we can look further into this issue.
      RESET-
Do left and right ear bud resets* (same reset for both sides)
      1. Turn off your Left earbud by pressing the Left multifunction button for 3-5 seconds or till you hear “Power Off”
      2. With your right earbud off, press and hold the Left multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
      3. Double press the left multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset. -
When you hard reset your earbuds, you will lose any saved presets and any saved devices on the paired list. Make sure to go to your bluetooth menu and delete the old device profile then you will need to power the buds back on and put them in pairing mode by again holding the Left/Right side button until the LED starts flashing GREEN. Then, go into your Bluetooth menu and select the buds under BLUETOOTH DEVICES.

I'll start off by saying that I am not a fan of cordless earphones. I do not like the risk of them falling out and getting lost. With that being said, these wireless earbuds performed extremely well and exceeded my expectations. Here are some of the things I liked most: - The travel case is innovative. You get 4 hours of power for the earbuds, but the charging pod is small enough to fit in your pocket and can provide additional juice as needed - and quickly. The case is really cool, with LEDs on the outside to indicate charging. - Sound quality exceeded my expectations and rivals other mid to high tier brands. - The Bluetooth connection was excellent. I have several sets of earbuds that cut out here and there even when my phone is close. I did not experience any dropped audio, even when 15+ feet away from my phone with this set. - These Jaybirds come with 4 sets of fins and tips to make sure you can find the perfect fit for your ears. - You are prompted with power level info when turning the buds on. - It is very easy to pause and resume with a press to the right bud. - The left bud button allows for easy activation of your phone for voice commands. The only thing I do not like about these Jaybirds is the fact that they can too easily be lost. I'd rather have a small cord connecting them that you can clip to the back of your shirt. That is just a personal preference, however. If you are looking for truly wireless earbuds that perform extremely well, this is a great and affordable set.

Suspicious at first, ok training, terrible race

As you probably, before approaching this pair of headphones I spent a certain time reading and reviewing the previous purchasers feedback and let’s be honest, in general are terrible: problems with the equipment, the connection, the software, all above. After 3 weeks and a half that I’ve been using them for my trainings, I have not a single major complain nor I experienced any of the problems reported by other users. However, this weekend I raced in one of the most wireless dense areas in the world: Las Vegas strip and they clearly failed. I was unable to listen a single song in full during the 13.1 miles (yes, I had the new firmware installed before). I am a half marathoner, so I tried the headphones for more than 70 miles in all kind of surfaces: treadmill, walking, outdoors trail and regular streets and in all the cases they were properly fixed into my ears. So perhaps if you ignore the connectivity issue you could be interested in the following items: During the 70 miles of trainings, approx. 15 hours of music I definitively enjoyed the sound delivered and the quite decent level of isolation from the world (these are not noise canceling but for your own safety if you run in the streets, you are not probably interested in complete cancelation). You need to know, that the volume control is in the phone and not in the earphone. For me this is not a problem at all, in other (partially wireless) models with this option that I own I found myself unable to perform that while running. Now, the key element of Bluetooth connection and the interaction with the phone, in 14 hours of use during trainings I only experienced 4 seconds of music cuts due to a bad connection: in the defense of the product, I was running in a very windy zone, for all the other 14:59:56 I didn’t experience a single moment of disturbance and I didn’t do any attention to the recommendations of having the phone in a particular position while running. However, during my race day, the experience was exactly the opposite, perhaps the other runners Bluetooth, perhaps the wireless of the Strip, perhaps.. but the fact is that I had a terrible experience that I will not repeat. Considering the battery, I never experienced lack of power during all my sessions, probably because my workouts are never more than two hours and a half (running and prep time included) but I can see that at the end of the trainings the battery is slightly over half charge. Perhaps if you are a full marathoner the four hours of the specs could not be enough (?). Now, I need to recognize that the system for charging is one of the nicest experiences with this model, after using it you keep the earphones in the box that serves as battery charger and you have the full certitude that in the next workout they are 100% charged. No more realizing just before start that the battery is depleted and you need to use other model. Definitively separating the electricity plugging from the earphones is a victory: you recharge in the house the chargin case, while you can be running outside. I read also about concerns for incomplete charge but I only found one time that after inserting the earphones in the case, one of them was incorrectly inserted and could not recharge but the fact that the green light was off, automatically detected my mistake and allowed me to fix right the way. Tracking the earphone and adjusting directly in the app the tone are other cool features if you are a more advanced DJ that what I am. I mentioned that I am a runner so I have already all kind of earphones tor my workouts, equipment that I’ve been cumulating over the years: with wires, wireless, with mic in the cable and with mic in the ear. I also experienced other models that because of my corrosive sweat, I’ve been forced to return for malfunctioning after few uses. Those were definitively on the top of my running equipment for trainings but I will never race with them again! Jaybird, please fix the problem and you will have a quite decent equipment.

      Hi Luis,

Thank you very much for your detailed review and feedback that we take very serious. We are super happy to hear that you have a great experience with Jaybird RUN when training. However, we are not so happy about your experience at the Las Vegas marathon. As you pointed out, the wireless signal density at events like that can have an impact on Bluetooth connectivity. We have put together some tips how to ensure best connectivity under the following link:

I was super excited to try out these headphones, and I must say that these headphones have met and successfully exceeded my expectations. Sound - I use Apple Music and Spotify for my music streaming and both apps sound great. Please make sure you download the JayBird Sound app. With the app you will be able to adjust the sound levels, listen to playlists, create a profile for your headphones, to include naming the ear buds and get some great tips on different options with the earbuds, connectivity and give feedback. Once I downloaded the app and adjusted the sound levels, I was unable to adjust the sound levels in the music apps, which is not a problem for me but I wanted to throw that out there. You have to do one or the other. I think that the settings in the JayBird app are better anyway and my favorite is Signature. :) I have listened to my favorite genres, R&B, hip hop, country, pop, classical and jazz on the signature setting and it sounds good to me! The music had the right amount of bass and the music was clear. Comfort - This is very important to me because I have really small ears and most headphones hurt my ears after 1-2 hours of listening to music. I have had the ear buds in my ears now for two hours and they still fit great and my ears are pain free. I have walked and danced and twirled and did a cartwheel and the earbuds are still resting in my ears. No problems at all. There are three levels of rubber pieces (small, medium, large) that come with the earbuds and the lobe pieces are labeled right and left. Battery - I played music for two hours with the volume completely up and got to 77% battery life left. So far, the buds are sticking to the description of 4 hours play. Distance - I was able to walk away from my phone (about 20 feet) with the earbuds in my ears and they worked great. (I must add that I have wifi in my home and my Apple Watch Series 1 on as well. Not sure if either had anything to do with it.) Would I buy these headphones again, YES! Would I share with a friend or family member, ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!

A solid, quality set of headphones

I’ve had a real love-hate relationship with earbuds for many years now. They never seem to fit my ears right and even when they do, I don’t feel like I get the same sound experience that I do with a set of on-ear or over-the-ear headphones. Sound always seems to be hollow and without any bass boost. When wireless earbuds started coming to market, I sadly found something I disliked more than standard earbuds. Not only did they not fit or produce a solid sound, they also didn’t connect properly. One earbud would drop out sometimes and they just weren’t consistent. The Run true wireless sport headphones from Jaybird are a different breed all on their own. UNBOXING The headphones arrive in a well-designed kit. The box has Jaybird branding on it and a decent description of the product. Right away, you know that there is a mobile app experience designed for the headphones from the presence of the App Store and Google Play Store logos. In the box you will find several sets of ear gels and ear wings for earbud fit adjustments, a charging case for the headphones, a charging cable and case, a storage pouch, and the earbuds themselves. Setting up the headphones isn’t difficult. When you turn them on for the first time, they are automatically put into pairing mode. I paired them to my iPhone and they appeared in my Bluetooth menu automatically. The instruction booklet suggests that you try out all the ear gels and wings until you find the best fit for your size ears. I was fortunate because the stock gels and wings that came pre-installed on the earbuds provided a solid fit for me. USER EXPERIENCE The mobile app for the Run headphones provides some basic information about the headphones and gives users the ability to use preset sound profiles to get a richer sound. You can design your own sound profiles if you want and save them for future use. I rather like this customized sound option. There are some mobile apps that only allow you to listen to predesignated music options to get the added features, but no matter what you are using with the Jaybirds Runs, you can utilize the sound profiles on top of that. For the first time in a long time, I found a set of sport earbuds that are wireless that actually provide a good fit for my ears. I don’t feel like they are going to fall out of my ears and because they are solid in my ears, I get a better sound. One issue I’ve had in the past with earbuds that are a ‘tight’ fit is that they become uncomfortable. The Run headphones have remained comfortable and I’ve used them for a couple of hours at a time. The only aspect of these headphones I don’t like is the control system. You can, of course, use your mobile phone to control the volume and playback of music, but the in-line controls really come in handy in most cases. The Run headphones have buttons built into both earpieces. They are a hefty click-style button that requires you to press quite hard in order to engage the control. I found this nearly impossible when I had the earbuds in my ears. I had to take the earbuds out in order to click the button. Listening to music was a very nice experience and I can’t say that much for earbuds. I could hear everything in great detail and thought that the sound quality was superb. I had a little issue with watching streaming videos, but I think that had more to do with the Internet connection than the earbuds themselves. Even though I’m not typically an earbud user, I really appreciate the Jaybird Run headphones because they give you freedom when being active where a lot of headphones do not.

I’ll start by admitting I have a bit of a headphone/earbud addiction. The house contains probably fifteen or more sets of personal listening devices, ranging from over-the-ear, audiophile phones to ten dollar discount store throw-aways. I am always in search of that next “fix”, hoping for something that makes me go “wow, that sounds really good!” Having the opportunity to receive the Jaybird RUN wireless earbuds in exchange for a review was very interesting to me considering their MSRP. Going in, I was completely unfamiliar with the Jaybird name, and only after examining the very fine print on the package I saw that they are a Logitech product. This gave me higher hopes based on my experiences with other Logi products. These hopes were somewhat dashed upon my first listen…not much volume, very bright, thin sounding, and lacking any sort of punch. Downloading the iOS App to my phone opened my eyes to all of the customization available and while I would still like a little more bass punch, I was able to make adjustments that made an exponential improvement to the out-of-the-box sound quality and a substantial output in volume. Anyone not utilizing the Jaybird App is really shortchanging their listening experience. Besides an equalizer feature where you can save a variety of different settings, being able to change the functions of the buttons on the ear buds is also a welcome feature as I am not one to utilize Siri very often. The buttons on the buds (one on each ear piece) have good tactile feedback, are easy to access and operate as they should. The only drawback I can see is that you have to choose between having volume control or pause/play capability, you can’t have both at the same time. I’m very impressed with the fit and comfort of the ear buds and they remain firmly in place during activities. While I’m not a runner, I was not able to dislodge the buds by tossing my head around. I found the fins and tips that came installed from the factory to be a perfect fit for my ears, and the other sizes of fins and tips that are included should provide an acceptable fit for almost anyone. The USB cord that connects to the case is only 10 inches long but shouldn’t be much of an issue since USB ports seem to be everywhere in the modern world. The way the buds turn on or off automatically when removed from or placed in the case is a nice feature as is the auto off. It is very easy to return the ear pieces to their case in the proper orientation for charging. The case seems to be very well made and well designed and it incorporates lights to show charging status. Some people might be a little put off by the price, but considering that the box states “Designed & Built For Runners, By Runners”, I think the quality and feature set of the Jaybird RUN somewhat justify the price point especially when compared to the price of quality running shoes that will most likely have a shorter life span than the Jaybird does. I think people that are looking for ear buds to use during their workout activity will not be disappointed, while audiophiles looking for their “holy grail” of portable sound quality should probably look elsewhere. I would like to give them a full five stars, but the lack of bass and a price that will exclude some potential customers leaves me giving a four star rating.

This Jaybird brand of truly wireless earbuds are fairly well designed and have pretty good sound quality. Being able to listen to audio with earbuds that are totally wire free is really convenient, and adds an improvement to the overall audio listening experience. The charging container for these Jaybird earbuds is really nice, it is the shape of an oval and has a nice closing mechanism and opening button, and there is an easy to see LED that lights to indicate when the charging has started. The Jaybird earbuds fit easily into the charging position when the batteries are drained. The micro USB cable provided is a bit short with the cable being 12 inches long, a longer cable would have made charging easier, but the cable being shorter is easier to carry. The Jaybird app is ok, the app does have a less than optimal equalizer in my opinion, but it does allow the adjusting of the bass and treble, and the Jaybird app does allow the user to save their optimized equalizer settings to presets which can be named. The Jaybird Run earbuds are a bit limited in playback controls compared to some other earbuds on the market, as these Jaybird Run earbuds only have two buttons, one button on each earbud, this results in having to choose which functions the buttons will perform, this can be adjusted in the Jaybird app. The one press of the buttons can be assigned to play/pause or the one press can be assigned to volume control up/down. It is not possible to have these earbud buttons control the volume and play/pause at the same time, this is slightly limiting, but the volume can always be adjusted from the Jaybird app on a smart phone. Also, when a call is incoming, the single press will answer the calls, and when ready to hang up the call, a single press will end the phone call. On these Jaybird earbuds, the double pressing of both buttons is always set to the option of skipping to the next track, and for some reason, there isn’t a previous track option. Maybe in the future Jaybird could program the app and designate the double pressing of the right earbud so that it skips to the next track, and then double pressing the left earbud could be for the previous track functionality. The buttons are easy to press as far as it not taking much force to press the buttons, but the buttons are oval shaped, and the buttons have to be pressed on only one side of the oval shaped buttons, so it is kind of a hit and miss when pressing the buttons, if the buttons are not pressed at just the right spot, then the buttons will not click. Also, the buttons are located so that when the buttons are pressed, it pushes the earbud into the ear. Overall the placement of the buttons is not that great. When these Jaybird earbuds are in the ear, they also function quite well as earplugs, and when wearing these Jaybird earbuds, the outside noise is drastically reduced, this can be a good thing and a bad thing, it can allow the user to be less bothered by undesirable noises, such as a conversation of other people in the surrounding area, but noises that are more important to hear will be less noticeable, such as someone knocking on the door or a phone ringing. It would be a good idea to avoid wearing these Jaybird Run earbuds when driving a vehicle, as it would be too easy to miss hearing important road noises such as a honking horn. There are various types of earbuds referring to the way that the earbud fits in the ear, some earbuds have only the silicone tips in the ear canal and the control section of the earbuds slightly sticks away from the ear, another type of earbud has the silicone tips that fit inside the ear hole and also has the main body of the earbud which fits closer to the ear canal. This Jaybird earbud is the type that fits closer to the ear canal, this type of earbud is better for listening to audio while being physically active, as the earbuds fits more snug in the ear and the earbuds are less likely to fall out. This second type of earbud is however less comfortable and can feel slightly annoying in the ear after having been worn for several hours in a row. With that being said, most people do not wear earbuds for that long, and these Jaybird earbuds can be adjusted in the ear so that they are fairly comfortable. The way these Jaybird earbuds fit into the ear, results in less of a universal fit on various sizes of ears, this is because the main earbud section fits into the outer ear cavity in order to fit snugly in the ear, and if a person has smaller ears, these Jaybird earbuds will likely not fit very well. I would actually say that these Jaybird earbuds would really only fit medium to large ear sizes. This pair of Jaybird earbuds is of pretty good build quality and has good sound, and I am rating this Bluetooth audio device at 3.0 out of 5 stars.

I should not judge a book by its cover but I do judge a product by its packaging. The packaging on the Jaybird Run wireless headphone screams high quality product. They are truly wireless (not like the Bose or Beats with a wire connecting the buds). But I saw that Bose, JBL, and a few others now have true wireless headphones like the Jaybird Run too. I cannot compare the Jaybird Run against them but I do own Beats 2 and I will compare the Jaybird Run to my Beats 2. The sound quality on the Jaybird will beat the Beats 2 if you use the EQ that came with the Jaybird mobile app (I will not rate the Jaybird app in this review). Otherwise, the default sound quality are about the same between them with an exception where the Jaybird Run output higher highs (treble). When I run with the Beats 2, I can hear the wind sound from outside but with the Jaybird Run, I hear nothing (almost felt like noise cancelling). I ran with the Jaybird Run for 2 miles and the sweat never went into my ears whereas with the Beats, I'll have to adjust and wipe my ears from time to time. The fitting of the Jaybird Run comes medium cushion by default but you can change the fitting to your liking (I used the small cushion on the Jaybird). The Jaybird fitting is also tighter than the Beats 2 and maybe why I do not hear the wind sound when running or any external sound for that matter. I really like the Jaybird Run charging station (uses micro USB) and how I do not need to turn off the headphones ever. I even listened to music on the Jaybirds Run for an additional 30 minutes bringing my total use of the headphones to over an hour and there was no discomfort in my ears at all. Once you take the Jaybird Run out of the station, it will connect to your device instantly too. The volume control is from your device, there is no volume control on the Jaybird like the Beats 2. Also, the Jaybird Run could be OK for daily used but I think that runners and anyone actively in sports/outside activities will mostly benefit from the Jaybird Run (hence the headphone name). All in all, I am very impressed and was skeptical at first because I thought nothing can overcome the Beats brand but I guess I now have a new headphone to use and I will give my Beats to my kids.
