Great Vacuum
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Vacuum as a Christmas Present to myself and I love it. The Option that it folds down and you don’t have to hang it on the Wall is great. Overall the Suction Power is definitely sufficient and it recharges pretty quick. It is lightweight as well. The only drawback I found is that the dirt container could be a little bigger.

Perfect for a small apartment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally upgraded from my 15-year-old cheap Eureka with this Shark. I wanted bagless and cordless and easy to store as I live in a small (650sqft) apartment. Easy to assemble, charged quickly and has good suction on laminate and carpet. I do wish, however, that the container was bigger as it needs to be emptied frequently.

A Great Investment in household tools
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the years, I’ve had a real love-hate relationship with vacuum cleaners. When I got my first apartment, I was very impressed with my selection of carpet sweeper, but it wasn’t very portable or easy to store because of its size. Nowadays, I’ve really taken a liking to the more compact floor cleaners because they are easier to get in and out of our storage closet. This makes it easier to do a quick sweep at the end of every day instead of letting dust and dirt pile up. The one issue I’ve still had with these compact vacuums is that they have cords. This cord-free vacuum from Shark is just what I needed. When you open the box, you will find that all the pieces of the cleaner are individually wrapped up in plastic or boxed for shipment to consumers. It took me approximately 10 minutes to pull out all the pieces and lay them out for assembly. There are several attachments for different types of cleaning that can actually be stored away until you need them. The main part of the device is only three pieces - the floor nozzle, MultiFlex Wand, and the handheld vacuum. To assemble the vacuum, you slide the wand into the floor nozzle, and then lock the handheld vacuum element onto the other end of the wand. Assembly took far less than unboxing all the parts did. Using the vacuum is quite easy, too. The battery arrived with a small charge on it (one bar) so I plugged it in and started sweeping. The first area I did was a tile entryway that always seems to hide dirt in between the individual tile pieces. The Shark did a great job of pulling up the hiding dirt without having to use any special attachments. After the entryway, I moved into our kitchen/dining room area and was amazed at how easily the Shark turned corners and slid beneath cabinets. It picked up everything from dry spaghetti to toothpicks. Finally, I moved on to the carpet in our living room and a small areas in our bedroom before the battery died. Moving between surfaces is easy because it only takes a button push. The vacuum does a good job of not only picking up the dirt, but also being easy to store. Clean up meant cleaning off the front roller that trapped hairs and carpet fibers and emptying the dirt trap. I found that you actually have to remove the handheld vacuum segment from the wand in order to open the trap door for the dirt reservoir. The Shark is a really nice investment in household tools. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their house clean.

Cordless & Flexible
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark IONFlex is an amazing vacuum! It was easy to set up and easy to use. The top two features are being cordless and flexible. I was surprised at how much freedom I felt not having a cord to hold up or constantly move out of the way. Charging the unit is easy, with the battery sliding in and out of the vacuum quickly. The flexibility is effortless - going underneath chairs and tables easily, and the roller head turns almost to a 90 degree angle. The controls for on/off, carpet/tile and time/power are perfectly located and can be reached with the thumb to quickly change modes. The controls are lit as well as the roller head. It came with 4 great attachments, including the crevice device that has a brush that slides up and down - very smart. All the button are well marked and make sense such as "Empty" and "Push down to unlock". The suction is great and works well on dog hair. I'm very impressed with this vacuum stick and it will probably take the place of my corded vacuum, at least for day to day cleaning.

Electric Broom on Steroids
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may look like an electric broom, but it's much more powerful and does an impressive job cleaning. I like the versatile design as it's very easy to get out of the closet, unfold and start vacuuming the floors (it even bends to slide under furniture). The top part can be detached, allowing you to use it as a portable handheld vacuum as well. In the attached photo, you can see that you simply take the handheld unit at the bottom of the picture and attach any of the items above it to suite the task at hand. There is a "normal" power mode and a "high" power mode which increases suction (which also sucks the juice from the battery at a faster rate). You can also switch between carpet and hardwood floors with a simple button press. The unit uses a rechargeable battery cell. It takes a couple hours to charge and unfortunately only gives about 20-25 minutes of cleaning time. So you might not be able to clean a large home on one battery (although additional battery cells are sold separately). However, it's a decent compromise for the wireless freedom of cordless vacuum. Please note that there is no charging dock included with this unit, but it does come with an AC wall adapter. You can either charge the battery while it's still mounted inside the vacuum, or you can remove the battery and charge it by itself which might be a little more convenient if you don't want to move the entire vacuum near a wall outlet. Cleaning and maintenance is also fairly easy and straightforward. There are three doors to open on the main unit (shown at the bottom of the attached photo) that allow you to clean the main compartment, the foam filter on top and a smaller filter on the bottom. The broom unit also opens up to easily clean the rollers should something get wrapped around them. Overall, the IONFlex is a convenient grab-and-go vacuum that requires little fuss as long as you remember to keep it charged.

Pricey but good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First thing first, just like all other cordless (battery powered) vacuum cleaners this is a good fit for small apartments/houses or as a secondary vacuum for quick clean ups. If you run it on max suction, the battery will discharge in about 30 mins but the suction is REALLY good. I felt myself being pulled along :) So, if you need more than you either run it on lower power mode or buy a corded vacuum :) I use it as a secondary vacuum for quick clean ups as well as to vacuum my car and I am very satisfied with results. I have hardwood floors in my house so I am not sure about it's performance on rugs/carpet but I am pretty sure it will perform well. It comes with a number of accessories (see the attached pic) but there is no attachment to store them. I don't like this. I have a RIDGID wet vacuum and it has a nice attachment to store all accessories in one place. I don't expect an attachment for this but a tote or something like that to organize these pieces would have been good for the price range. It is very easy to use (plenty of free-moving-ability in the front head). The middle joint bends dogleg style so getting under a table or chair is trivial, and it has plenty of power to handle most jobs. Also, it is very easy to put together and take apart. The maintenance is easy too. The dirt cup is not too bag but emptying it is easy enough. As the middle join bends, it is easy to store it in a small place. Overall, a good vacuum. A lot of suction, good battery life, the ease of charging the battery pack anywhere, easy maneuverability are the key features in my opinion.

Powerful vacuum!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This compact vacumm is a must at home specially if you have places that you can't reach with any regular upright vacuum. Its come with 4 cleaning attachmnets and one of them is designed to reach under appliances which is nice. This vacuum is bagless and cordless and has a good power out of it! Battery has 3 blue leds for charging indicator. Prior to use I charged it for 3 and battery was full and leds went off. Not too much noise out of it and light weight when carrying. Storage is convenient.

Very Versatile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying own three vacuums currently. I own a Dyson, an EcoVac (robotic vacuum) and this Shark. The Shark IONFlex is easily the most versatile vacuum I’ve ever owned or used. The simple fact of being cordless lends to its versatility. Add in the fact that you can separate the power unit and add many different attachments and this is THE most complete vacuum. It is pretty lightweight, even factoring in the weight of the battery. With the included attachments you can clean nearly any surface. I was able to clean the mini blinds with ease then go right into cleaning the floor. It’s quick to switch from carpet to hard surfaces and back again. It is so convenient to grab and take care of a quick mess. It is very simple to empty the vacuum from the bagless container, one button dump. The power of the vac is strong enough. It doesn’t have quite the power of the Dyson but who could expect that from a battery powered unit versus a 15 amp Dyson. It has two modes for power, normal and extra power. The battery life is adequate. I always wish I could get more battery life from any battery powered device but this battery will get you through multiple rooms. The amount you can vacuum certainly depends on how you use the machine. There are some drawbacks of course. It would be nice if it came with a wall mount that charged the vacuum while docked. Replacement batteries are quite expensive, no surprise there though as any company that makes battery powered appliances does the same. In the end I am quite happy with my purchase. There are many others with the same or more features out there but this vacuum, for the money, is a great value. I can’t see spending twice as much for other brands when the Shark does all I need. This is my first Shark product and based on my experience so far I would certainly be willing to try more.

Really great but not one size fits all
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is great. Is it worth the money? Maybe. For the amount I paid, I expected it to work perfectly. There were some issues. Sometimes the roller brush wouldn't start or would stop in the middle of vacuuming. I would have to turn it off and back on again to get the roller to start up again. It is very easy to use but gets heavy over time. I feel like if I were taller, I'm 5'6'', it would be more comfortable to use. The feature to bend the hose is really great for getting underneath things, so no bending or stooping needed. The suction was great but at times the filter would get clogged and I would have to dig out the cat hair. The brushes also get tangled with cat hair and I have to pull it off to keep it working properly. Overall this is a great vacuum but I will be returning it. It works as well as a cheaper vacuum that this was supposed to replace. I feel like for the money it should work perfectly out of the box and in a week I have had to do too much poking and cleaning and maintenance. The battery life is well beyond what I could imagine. Lasting around an hour. I can vacuum my entire 1000sq ft apartment and still have charge left over (carpet and hardwood). I would definitely recommend it if you don't have pets and just need general cleaning. It can even work as the only vacuum in the home, but not great for pet hair.

Great for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cheaper version of the dyson and in my opinion it’s just as good! It’s very lightweight, packs away easily. I love that it’s cordless as it makes maneuvering around kids and a dog so much easier. The attachments are useful and easy to switch out. I use it on a daily basis, sometimes multiple times a day to clean up after kids and our lab which sheds a horrendous amount! It picks up hair and food well. The one thing that i thought would be better because of the extra roller was picking up dust but not so much. I still use our shark once a week to do a thorough cleaning. The battery life is decent, I can completely clean every room on one floor before it dies. Having a second battery would not be a bad idea though. The suction is pretty powerful. Once the can fills the suction is slightly worse but still does the job. This is a very handy vacuum and I’m very impressed. I’ve used the dyson that is supposed to be the best and I believe this vacuum is just as good if not better.

Does everything I want
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Caught this on sale while waiting for discounts on a dyson stick. So far it is a really delightful purchase. Light, more flexible than its competitor, and the battery keeps its charge really well. I'm not sure if it has the same suction power as others but when I hit extra power, it does fine. The buttons are electronic, which surprised me, but they are easier to use and see. Love the single function floor attachment so I can just keep going. This is all about ease of use.

So easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the Sharp IONflex 201 after researching lightweight stick vacuums and it does not disappoint. So easy to use and store but yet great at picking up dirt and pet hair from both carpet and hard surface floors. Love not having to drag a heavy vacuum and cord around. When charged, the battery lasts 30 minutes, which is ample time for my use.

Very flexible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this on clearance for less than $200. Had it been anything more in cost i would have returned it. We have a Roomba that we run periodically but noticed it didn't pick up everything. We needed a vacuum that was small and powerful enough for approximately 1200 sq ft. This does it. The flex part of the vacuum allows this thing to get under couches and beds easily. It has a lot of power for something so small. Battery life is great for what we use it for. I used it on the car too and worked fine. The machine can get hot and overheat forcing the machine to turn off as a fail safe. Made sense to me each time it happened. Value is here if it's less than $200. If i had paid anymore i would have given 3 stars. I didn't give it 5 stars because in a perfect world battery life would be more than 40 minutes (i.e. a second battery). They do sell this product with two batteries. Also charging this battery take 3+hours???? I have an electric lawn mower that doesn't take this long to charge the battery and the battery is 5x heavier, I'm not familiar with these things but it seems excessive for such a small battery to charge all the way up.

LOVE my Shark!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love love love my Shark! I love the cordless feature, it's very light & so easy to vacuum my floors every morning to pick up kitty litter that gets scattered during the night. I have hardwood floors & it picks up everything, the suction is awesome! I also have a thick area rug & it does a great job on that as well. And it's so easy to do my stairs without the cord. It comes with a nice amount of attachments & the battery lasts long enough to do my entire upstairs, plus the bin holds a good amount so I don't have to keep stopping to empty it. I had purchased a famous cordless version, it wasn't worth all the hype... the battery didn't last long enough to even do half of the floor & you had to hold the trigger the entire time! I returned it & bought my Shark instead, it's far above the rest! I've used this every day for over 2 years & it's still going strong!

A Great All-Around Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a small house, so I was looking for a multi-purpose stick vacuum. I've had Dyson products before and loved them. I've heard good hings about Shark and thought I'd give it a try. So far, so good. I think the only thing I'd recommend them adding is the bristle cleaning function that the Bissel has. Other than that, it's great so far. Light and the battery lasts like they say it does, about 20 minutes.

Freedom of Vacuuming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start by saying we have a $599 vacuum that "never loses suction" but pretty much the only vacuum we use anymore is this Shark. The cordless aspect of this vacuum makes it the quickest and easiest one to grab. It is lightweight so great for using on the stairs and cleaning window blinds. It is also great for getting the occasional cob webs in the corners. The battery life is very good. When I first purchased it I thought about getting another battery as usually this type of device would require two to get the job done but the Shark has great battery life. It does a great job too! Such a versatile tool and it actually cleans well! We have owned this for six months or so and are still very happy with it!
