High quality bagless vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I have to say I'm not a big fan of bagless vacuums. However, I'm very impressed with the quality and functionality of this unit. It was well packaged on arrival and easy to put together. It comes with four attachments and the hose disconnects to use the tools. The tools are some of the highest quality attachments I've seen in a vacuum. The crevice tool itself it about a foot long. One drawback is that the hose is fairly short, but it seems to stretch well. The floor attachment is compact and easy to maneuver in tight places. I'm accustomed to a vacuum that is very flat when going under furniture and this one doesn't go under short couches or beds. The entire unit swivels well to effortless cover all areas. The two small headlights on the front look cool and the overall look of the unit is nice. My wife just vacuumed the house with our bagged vacuum earlier today and I was surprised at home much dust and dirt the Shark picked up. Empting the canister is what I've always not liked about bagless vacuums, but this one definitely is the best one I've seen. The canister is designed in a way that when you open the bottom lid all of the trash comes out easily. There are three filters in the unit and all are washable so there are is nothing to have to buy maintenance wise. It weights thirteen pounds but is easy to pickup and carry around. The vacuum is about as close to perfect as I've seen in a bagless unit. Shark is good name brand and I plan to make this my primary vacuum and save on bags with my old one.

Shark Slim Duo Clean Great Product!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the Shark Slim Duo Clean tonight and tried it out. It has great suction on carpet and does really well on hardwood. My central vac leaves streaks on hardwood from the rollers and I don't like that. The Duo Clean does not. It seems to pick up everything from the hardwood also. I have always had to use a steam mop on the hardwood after vacuuming because the vacuum could never pick up all the dust but this thing seems to do that and I don't think I will have to steam mop afterwards. It is great on carpet also but any vacuum should do that. It is extremely light making it easy to carry up and down stairs. I have not tried any of the attachments but they should be easy to use. I do have some complaints though. I would have liked a retractable cord and 4 attachments were included but only 2 slots for attachment storage on the vacuum that I could find and documentation didn't cover that. All it said was store accessories on the post. I looked on the website as well and didn't find any guidance. So what am I supposed to do with the others? I think everyone wants to store all the included accessories on their vacuum. Overall though, I think it is great and would highly recommend. I have had many Shark products (mostly steam mops and love them all).

Vacuum with excellent suction power
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The initial unboxing of the Shark DuoClean Slim (Model #NV201) displayed an innovative look and style. The vacuum comes with four attachments, each designed to fulfil a specific task. An interesting, yet extremely helpful, feature is the detachable hose which can be used with any of the attachments. Dealing with standard vacuums, one problem people typically encounter is the suction ability (or lack thereof) when picking up certain types of things off the floor. While the Shark doesn’t have the suction power of, say, a Dyson vacuum, it comes far closer than any other vacuum I’ve used…and for a considerably lower price. Another nice feature is its ability to pivot, similar to the Dyson Ball vacuums. This can be especially handy when one has to deal with large and/or heavy objects (couches, coffee tables, etc) that are not easily movable. I starting out by testing the “standard” vacuum capabilities, which worked without any problems. Next, I attempted to vacuum up some pet hair, which proved an easy task for the DuoClean Slim. However, when it came to clumped hair, the vacuuming became a bit more challenging, as it had some problems picking up the clumped hair. Next, I tried the attachment with the finer hair, using it to vacuum Rice Krispies (kids will spill things). I could be wrong, but I’m thinking that, due to the fineness of soft bristles, that may have been the cause in vacuuming the Rice Krispies. This is NOT to say that the DuoClean is a bad vacuum…on the contrary, it is extremely good. When vacuuming what 99% of people will be using it for – dust & dirt – it proved to be one of the best vacuums I’ve had the pleasure (if one could consider vacuuming a “pleasure”) of using…one pass was all it took, as all dust & dirt was gone from the floor. Control and maneuverability, likewise, is excellent, primarily due to its pivoting. Looking at each attachment, individually, the dusting brush removed dust and buildup with ease, especially on cloth/canvas furniture. The wide upholstery tool made it easy to cleaning our couch. The crevice tool (used with the detachable hose) made it easy for cleaning behind the wall-hung flat screen TV, as well as behind the entertainment center, and around the refrigerator. Finally, the multi angle tool was perfect for vacuuming the top of cabinets, picture frames, shelves, etc. FINAL VERDICT: Overall, the Shark DuoClean Slim is a great product. I’d give it an 8.5 out of 10, recommending it for household use, as well as an office cleaning services. When it comes to vacuuming pet hair, while not as great as the Dyson Animal, it does come extremely close…and, need I say again, for close to half the price. The only problems encountered were when vacuuming clumped hair and cereal using standard ground level feature. Other than those two fairly minor “negatives”, I’d still consider the Shark DuoClean Slim as a brilliant product. If you’ve been looking for a new vacuum, the Shark DuoClean Slim should be on your “short list”. If you have pets, and have to vacuum a considerable amount of hair, you (realistically) have only two choices – the Shark DuoClean Slim, or the Dyson Animal. Both are excellent choices (I have a Dyson Animal, so I do know)…but the Shark will cost you approximately half the price. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

First-Class Slim Vacuum Cleaner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing and setup, was an absolute breeze. Typically, I will refer to the quick setup or manual but with the Shark it was a simple task of connecting a few components as they came out of the box. Literally within minutes the Shark was ready to roll. First impressions, the handle is a first-rate design allowing several comfortable positions to operate the vacuum. It is a compact design which works well for our use and storage. Design and look are brilliant, simply stated, it looks great. The included Attachments offer a good selection of cleaning tools, and the company offers additional attachments if needed. There is an accessory holder for two attachments. Cleaning; we had just vacuumed our living room a few days prior to when we used the Shark the first time. Impressively within minutes it had collected a significant amount of debris in the see-through canister. Two thumbs up on the power and cleaning capabilities. It gets the job done easily. The vacuum had two modes besides upright, one is Above the Floor mode where you disconnect the handle to reach areas above the floor. There is additionally Lift Away mode where you disconnect the vacuum “pod” away from the floor nozzle, handy for reaching difficult to get at areas. The unit also switches easily from carpet to hardware. It is a well-thought-out design which looks handsome in your home, does a great job cleaning and easy cleanup and storage.

Little size. Big power.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been needing a new vacuum and originally wanted a hand held. The obvious drawback with one is the lack of suction and short battery life. So I thought what about a smaller “slim” upright? Well Shark’s latest and greatest fits the bill. The unit was easy to assemble. It took under 5 minutes and I was ready to go! Surprisingly, even though the unit is slim, it’s not very light. I think the powered brush is the main culprit but its heft didn’t really affect my using it easily. It’s quite powerful and offers either brush or brushless vacuuming. So it’s great for carpets and bare floors. You do have to manually turn the brush motor on or off as it’s not auto-sensing. The Duo brush heads make a noticeable difference, especially on hard floors. One small ding is that the brush width is quite narrow. I guess that’s good for getting into tight spaces but it did seem to lengthen the time to clean wider areas. Also, the built-in lights are angled strangely and could be brighter. Fortunately it comes with a detachable handle for cleaning high places. The extra tools (onboard storage for a couple) make cleaning my ceiling fan blades really easy and fast. Very convenient! Emptying the canister is also quite easy to do and the mess factor was kept to a minimum. Same with the filters that are accessible once the canister is detached. After one cleaning, the foam filter (not the HEPA one) was quite dirty so either I’m filthy or it gets dirty quickly...keep an eye on it. All in all it’s a pretty impressive little unit and the 5 year warranty is fantastic. It’s strong suction and small size are perfect for smaller living spaces. It’s size should also make it easy to store. It’s a pretty penny but still less than the other well known (English) slim vacuum and seems to clean very well!!

Another hit from Shark!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the Shark Powered Lift-Away Speed with DuoClean for a few months now and love the suction, portability and ease of use when clean with it... So I was excited to use this lighter, slimmer version of the one I already love. More or less of what I had described the Lift-Away Speed, the slim down version is a more compact, but still maintaining same suction power the old brother has. Vacuuming is a breeze now! Thanks!

Good vacuum, great under short objects
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to assemble (<5 minutes) with only three items to click together. It comes with four different hand tools. The vacuum cleaned my rug nicely and worked very well getting under the chairs and sofas and has a lighted front for visibility. The hand tools attach quickly and easily and work great!

This shark does the trick
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had used an orrick vacuum for several years and liked it for its weight and performance. This shark is light and performs really well. Pet hair comes right out of the carpet without fail. Carpet Already looks so much better with only being used for a couple of weeks

Very capable vacuum with just the bare necessities
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark - DuoClean Slim NV201 Bagless Upright Vacuum is a great vacuum with just the right amount of stuff that you would require in a vacuum with none of the extra flair. It is slightly larger than some of Shark's other vacuums and is therefore slightly heavier than what some people may be used to from other Shark vacuums, but it is definitely a quality product from Shark. The DuoClean Slim has amazing adjustable suction that is great for cleaning carpets or bare floor. Although it is not specifically built for pets it does an outstanding job of cleaning up pet hair due to it's outstanding suction. The light on front and long cord make cleaning around and under your furniture super easy and keeps you from having to plug and unplug to continue vacuuming. Overall this is a very capable vacuum with no extra frills that is more than able to do what is expected of a vacuum. I would highly recommend this vacuum for anyone looking to get a new vacuum.

Light, small but powerful!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I took it out I was a little dissapointed by the small size as that meant it was not going to be powerful. I have used this a couple of times and I am very surprised by the power it packs within the small size. The LED headlights are very cool feature. Used it on hardwood floor and carpet alike, both works flawlessly and I didnt have any problems. It is though prone to falling over though as the head is small as compared to the rest of the body. This vacuum is good for a small to medium size home or apartment. Anything big and you will have to empty the dust canister atleast once. Its easy to setup and use, dont need to go through the manual and all.

Versatile machine for hardwood and carpet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark DuoClean Slim NV201 Bagless Upright Vacuum is a solid machine which provides an easy-to-use option to switch back and forth between wood floors and carpet. Shark has really raised their game with this machine. The bagless feature is great as I hated dealing with bags with the older models. It's also a great alternative to more expensive vacuum models with similar features.

Nice Vac With Good Suction
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this unit. It was easy to assemble and it has good suction. The only drawbacks are that I wish the dust cup was a little bigger to hold more and there should be a space for each tool, but there isn't which makes you have to choose which to keep on board and which to store somewhere else. I tried even combining tools but couldn't find a good way to do that either. I like that you can lift the canister off to take with you to do cleaning and dusting but you still have to contend with the cord.

Good vacuum but w/design flaws
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum works well when it comes to the motor & debris pick up. Smooth transition from hardwood floors to carpet and is easy to empty. This model suffers from some very serious design flaws. The vacuum head is small (compared the rest of unit) so the entire unit is really unbalanced and falls over way to easily. The handle is not at a comfortable level, maneuvering it will take practice, the hose length is short (which causes the unit to fall) and lastly, there's not enough storage for the attachments. My unit came with four (4) attachments however the vacuum can only store two (2) attachments so now if I want to use the other two (2) attachments I have to lug them in my pockets, not very convenient. Does it work? Yes Is there better out there? Yes My recommendation...Dyson
