Weak battery life/Camera Mount failure
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Without wires and compatible with HomeKit, I felt the Circle 2 was my best option. While the software interface is good, there are two issues that trump my overall experience with the Circle 2. First, battery life is relatively weak versus what is claimed on the packaging. Already recharged the battery a couple times and lowered sensitivity to extend battery life. Second, when removing the camera to charge the battery the screws in flexible mount sheared off within the thin, plastic screw holes. I can no longer use the outdoor mount after a couple week’s usage. What’s worse, I contacted Logitech and have not received an update regarding a replacement mount. If you can find a better outdoor mount, the Circle 2 may be a good option in low traffic areas. Otherwise, it should be used primarily indoors.

Nice outdoor security camera
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like these logitech outdoor security camera, picture quality is great, the only issue I've run into is they drop wifi connection often and I have a strong wifi signal where both cameras are installed. The night vision on these is very good, and you an see for atleast a good 150 ft. I installed power outlets in my attic to avoid recharging the batteries which is great. The logitech cam app takes longer than it should to connect to my two cameras. These can use either 2.4 or 5 ghz wifi signals. I found the included mount to be lacking so I used some other mounts I had laying around and spray painted them to better blend in with my siding color .

Far from stable, not reliable at all!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logi circle 2 is a very attractive indoor/ outdoor security IP camera that is very simple to be setup (in theory). Pros: - very attractive design, well made. - 100% wireless, can connect to wifi easily, has a battery that should last a few hours and can be charged using the 2amp micro usb charger and cable provided, or any other Micro usb charger. - free cloud storage for up to 24 hours, paid subscription for added storage also available. Cons: - lets start with setup, after connecting the camera to the network via the app, it tried to get the updates a couple of time and gave me the error loading updates, please reset your camera. this was a bit annoying but easily fixable. - the Logi circle 2 is not reliable, i kept it on the charging station to test it for a few hours during the day and it kept disconnecting and showing as offline, and it was not a home wifi issue because I do have other connecting wifi devices at home that were working and were able to receive instructions from me while the logi claimed that its offline. - even when it is online, it did skip 4 movement events during 4 hours. and they were events that are long, like my wife came back from work and opened the front door with Logi not noticing or recording at all, or even when my son came back home as well. but it was sending me notifications of events (when my cats were playing close to that same door). I tried adjusting the motion sensor with no results. the image quality in general is good, the 2 way microphone and speaker is also very nice and it works when the camera is not offline. also on paper the Logi 2 supports Alexa (not Siri, or Google home). finally, I assume that Logitech will eventually fix the software bugs, and the logi 2 might actually be useful by then. but right now, it falls short behind last year models from better name brands and cheaper prices.

Simple & Versatile Home Security Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Design/Setup: The Logitech Circle 2 is small and versatile. You can place it just about anywhere including outdoors because of the waterproof design. However, certain setup locations, such as a wall outlet or on a window, will require an accessory which must be purchased separately. Initial setup was quick and easy for the most part. I did experience an issue where the required firmware update would not install and I had to reset the camera a couple of times for it to install successfully. However, the Circle 2 was ready to go within a few minutes after the firmware update decided to install, which was an automated and wireless process. Logitech did a great job with the sleek design and appearance of the Circle 2. I just wish the setup would have been successful the first time. Features: There are several great features that make the Circle 2 a solid security camera. Firstly, customizable smart alerts notify you when motion is detected. So far, the motion detection has worked every time, and it is nice to get notified when there is movement inside or outside my home. The downside is that this feature is a premium feature, so you will need to subscribe if you want to receive motion alerts on your device after the short 10-day free trial. Secondly, the Circle 2 has two-way audio, so you can speak into your phone and the audio will play on the camera, and you can also listen to any noise the camera picks up. From my experience testing the microphone and speaker, they work surprisingly well. The third feature I wanted to include in my review is the Logi Circle mobile app, which is what allows you to view video footage and access the camera’s settings. The app enhances the experience rather than hindering it by providing a simple interface with additional features such as a 30-second video recap of the day. The only downside I have noticed is that it can sometimes take longer than desired to load up the live video feed. Video Quality: The Circle 2 combines high-quality video with night vision and a 180-degree view. These features are exactly what I look for in a security camera. I am impressed by the Circle 2’s ability to capture high quality video with such a wide viewing angle, and it does not matter if it is day or night. Sometimes the video quality does not appear to be 1080p, but my guess is that you need to have a very high-speed internet connection to always see the video feed in 1080p. Most of the time, the video footage is not choppy and does not blur or cut out, so I can rely on the Circle 2 camera to capture high-quality video consistently. The only problem is that there is always a delay when loading the video feed, which can get annoying. Battery Life: One of my worries about using a wire-free security camera was battery life, but the Circle 2 exceeds my expectations by far. It is capable of lasting three months on one single charge. As I mentioned, the Circle 2 is very versatile, and having a battery that can last three months contributes to its versatility. It is nice to place it in the desired location and not have to worry about the battery dying anytime soon. Verdict: When it comes to versatility, this is one of the best security cameras on the market. You can place it just about anywhere and it will capture an impressively wide 180-degree view, not to mention three months of battery life. However, there are a few annoyances, such as the troublesome setup and time it takes to load the video feed, which prevents me from saying with confidence that this is one of the best security cameras overall. The Logitech Circle 2 is not perfect, but it certainly has a lot of potential. My hope is that future firmware updates will improve my 4-star experience to a 5-star experience.

Not good enough.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to hear about the release of this camera, I really wanted to like this camera and I think it could have so much potential but after owning it for a few weeks I feel like all the pros are outweighed by cons. I waited extra-long to review to see if the kinks finally got worked out but for the most part, they’re still there. I’ll be honest I ordered this camera with the intention of recording video thru a window facing out towards a parking lot. Although Logitech hides the fact that this camera cannot record facing out a window in it’s FAQ’s, here is your warning. Even with the window mount I do not think this camera will work properly as an outside facing, inside of a window camera. Maybe you can get a better answer from Logitech but they seem absent when asked in their own forums. Pros: Wide angle camera- Able to view a large amount of space with this camera Quality of Video-Video quality is good on the camera at 720….when the camera works correctly. Settings and Options-Plenty of options that should allow the camera to be tweaked to a users preferences. Setup-Extremely easy to setup with my home wifi. Have only had issues with it dropping off of my wifi one time since setting it up. The camera seems stable in that sense. Cons: Mount- Plain and simple, it’s cheap, not sturdy and if mounted outside someone could likely throw a rock at the camera to knock it down or out of position. It’s literally a piece of plastic holding a heavy camera with some cheap clips. It’s not built for outside, which makes this a basically indoor only camera for those that don’t trust a cheap plastic mount. No 1080- Why is 1080 listed as an option but not available? The only option is 720. Live View-This is likely the only thing that the camera does well (see the next 2 sections) but it takes a good 30-45 seconds or longer to log into live view. That’s a long time. Also, Live View will automatically log you out shortly after you log in to conserve battery. So if you’re planning on leaving your wireless camera plugged in at all times and want to leave live view on to keep an eye on things, that’s not really an option that I have found. Settings and Options- This is a con as well as a pro. The settings are very hard to get set correctly. Such as, when setting a zone you cannot do so with a live video playing. So you have no idea if the zone you set it in the correct area you want it at. I resorted to setting up a zone on my work desktop by turning on the live feed, placing sticky notes where I want my zone, then going in to zone editor and placing the zone around the sticky notes I had set up on my monitor. I’m guessing this will be fixed by firmware update but who knows, it’s really silly that Logitech didn’t think that through. The settings also will reset themselves to other preferences. Want the camera to record a max recording length of 60 seconds? Great! That’s an option. However, it will reset to 10 seconds of recording soon for whatever reason. Recording- I set the recording sensitivity options to the highest available options since that was the only way that the camera would record (once again this camera is not made to face outside while mounted inside). It records, after events happen. Night vision does not work unless you are logged in and watching on live view. You will receive alerts where the camera records pitch black videos and then sends you an update. It also sometimes records videos with a pink hue. Also, as mentioned above, when you receive an alert from the camera it takes another 30-45 seconds or sometimes longer just to log in to watch the video that may or may not have recorded anything. Most of the alerts I got were the beginning of people walking by the house (for 10 seconds because the settings reset by themselves) or a car driving by. This is fine and what I expected since I had the sensitivity set to high. If you were to use this for security and someone broke into your vehicle my guess is that it would record the first 10 seconds of someone walking towards your car, then it might record more later depending on how long the break-in takes. My guess is most thieves aren’t going to sit in your vehicle or hang around your house for long amounts of time. The commercial Logitech uses to market this camera has someone seeing a shady person snooping around the house and them using the camera to speak to the shady person, scaring them off. Unless this camera is improved upon with firmware then that commercial is fantasy. The Day Brief option which lets you watch little pieces of recordings from your day is another good idea done wrong. Since the settings reset your recordings to 10 second max clips you’re left with a bunch of videos of the beginning or ending of events. Logitech Circle-This is Logitechs paid subscription service that you pay $100 a year to get more recordings or lack of recordings depending on if the camera decides to work. No way I would sign up for this until the kinks are hammered out by the company. Logitech customer support- Fail. When I wrote customer support about these and more issues I was having with the camera, I received an email in return explaining how to power the camera on and charge it for the first time. What? Do they even read the emails they receive? After replying to that message that they did not answer any of the questions I asked, I received another email saying that the issues I was having were known issues and that they had their people looking at them. I resorted to logging into Logitech’s own forums where I realized that I wasn’t the only person having issues. To sum all of this up if you need a camera to mount inside your house that may or may not work (only for recording things inside your house), takes a long time to log in to view, records black videos at night, that even though it’s wireless it’s really not built for outdoors (cheap mount)…then this is for you. If you want/need a camera for more of a novelty item I would look elsewhere. Unless Logitech really takes the firmware updates to this camera seriously, rolls up their sleeves and fixes the major issues with this camera then it will be just another great idea with poor execution. I’m sad to say I can’t recommend this camera to anyone until the issues are addressed and fixed.

Promising Wireless Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Circle 2 is a promising offering by Logitech, but unfortunately falls short of expectations. The camera performs well with activity notifications and recording quality while wired. The web client is responsive and plays video smoothly. Unfortunately, my primary expectations of using the camera wirelessly and with an app on my phone, fell short. If you setup the camera as a wireless camera it doesn’t detect motion reliably and often misses events. To test I walked in front of the window it is facing and the camera didn’t register any of the events unless I stood there for an extended period of time. Additionally, the battery drained 20% in 2 days far more then I anticipated. So I reconnected the charging cable (micro USB) and set it up for wired mode. Event detection is good when wired but the app (iOS iPhone 7) is buggy and playback is awful. The playback is so choppy it is practically useless. I really wanted to like this camera as I was looking for an alternative to the pricey Nest Aware. For now, I would wait and see if they can iron out the bugs with the app and improve detection when wireless without sacrificing battery.

Hopeful but not for now
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We set this camera up using the wire free mode, so it will look nice and neat. Set up is easy and quality is great. So, here's the scoop: Pros: - Easy set up - Great quality - Wire Free option with charger, no need to buy batteries - Push notification on movement detection Cons: - Very slow to connect for live view especially when camera needs to be awaken from low-power mode due to inactivity - Often times, camera is offline with no reason. It's within 15ft of powerful wifi router - I understand companies are charging for cloud storage, but certain basic feature shouldn't require to pay for membership - Battery runs out within a week. Yes, I do realize it is in a high traffic area (our living room) I don't think it's a reliable video camera at this point. Although, it already received a firmware update. Stability hasn't improved yet. I am hopeful with future updates, it will be more stable, and fast to connect to.

Great interface, but very dependent on the cloud
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PICTURE QUALITY One of the most important features of a security camera is the picture quality, and the Circle 2 definitely has that covered. The 1080p picture is very clear, even in low light without the night vision LEDs. This allows you to see the details of what is happening and a clear view of the face of the person. The camera is set at 720p by default and you will need to use either the app or the website to increase it to 1080p. Another notable feature is the wide field of vision, providing a 180 degree view of the area it is covering. This covers my entire backyard. In fact, I had to move it to the center of the window, otherwise the window frame would block a portion of the shot. FEATURES One of my favorite features of the Logitech Circle 2 camera is the "Day Brief". This summarizes all of the events of the day into a 30-second video clip. It's a great way to check out what's been going on around your home while you were gone. The Logitech Circle 2 camera does a great job analyzing motion events, detecting people and providing accurate notifications, if you pay for the $9.99/month cloud plan. Otherwise, you'll only receive basic motion notifications (low motion and high motion). The wire-free Logitech Circle 2 option includes a battery pack that allows the camera to operate for up to 3 months on a single charge, figured with an average of 5 minutes of recorded footage a day. It uses a separate, low power motion sensor so that it does not need to be "awake" to constantly analyze the footage. It's important to note that the low power motion sensor does not work through glass. If you leave the camera plugged into a power source, you can configured the camera to be "always on" and analyze motion using the video feed. When in battery mode, the camera can take between 15-30 seconds to "wake up" when you request to view the live image. Other "mounts" are available for the Circle 2, allowing you to take either the wired or wire-free version and mount it to a window or plug it into an outlet. However, these are at an additional cost and not included in the package. Support for Apple Homekit is said to be coming soon, but wasn't available at launch. Homekit support will not be available for the wire-free (battery) mounting option. EASE OF USE I'm surprised how many cameras on the market still require a plug-in -- or even worse, an Internet Explorer Active X control -- in order to setup and operate. Thankfully, the Logitech Circle 2 works with all modern browsers without any additional software, not even Flash! I was able to use it on my Mac and my Chromebook without an issue. The smartphone app allows you to configure most the camera's settings: resolution, alerting and power management. One feature you cannot configure in the app is marking the zones for motion detection. For this, you must login to the website (https://circle.logi.com). Events that have occurred during the day are shown as "bubbles" along the right-side of the screen. Grey bubble indicate low motion events (bird flying by, trees swaying in the breeze, etc) while the blue bubble indicate high motion events (such as a person walking close to the camera). The bubbles make it very easy to navigate between different events and the camera seems to do an accurate job of only placing important events in the blue bubbles. You can also filter the events if you want to remove the grey bubbles, for example. VALUE The Logitech Circle 2 has a lot of smart features, such as detecting people and making determination between what is normal motion (leaves rustling in the wind) and what is not normal (such as a person walking up to the camera). However, a lot of this functionality is dependent on the cloud, or more specifically, Logitech's servers. On the Circle's free plan, you get 1 day of cloud storage, unlimited streaming and downloads, alerts and day brief. In order to have person detection and motion zone alerts, you must pay $9.99 per month per camera for 31 days of storage, which -- in my opinion -- is a tad excessive for a camera that costs this much. There is no local storage on the device itself. If your internet connection goes out, nothing will be recorded and you will not be alerted of motion events (although, you will be alerted that the camera is offline if you enable that specific alert). If Logitech's servers ever go down, or -- worse yet -- they decide to abandon the Circle camera service, you'll end up with an expensive, round paperweight. For those reasons, I still prefer an IP camera that has local Micro SD card storage so that the camera is not dependent on a third-party. With that said, the Logitech Circle 2 definitely has a lot going for it: a great user interface for the app and website, great picture and viewing angle and accurate motion detection. If you have a solid internet connection and you want something that is easy to setup that only bugs you when something important happens, this camera fits the bill. Hopefully, a local storage option will be added in the future.

Wireless Circle 2 not useable for outdoor security
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera works very well indoors, but not good at all in outdoor environments like your front door, backyard, or driveway, etc. The Pros: Very easy to setup - charge it the battery, download the LogiCircle app, connect the camera to the battery base, and it sees the camera and walks you through the set up in just a minute or 2. Video stream (when it's working) is reasonably clear in daylight conditions. The 2-way voice communication works fine when you can get the live stream loaded (more on that in Cons). It has a number of attachments to connect it to a window, a plug, etc. as available accessories. Waterproof so can be used outdoors (just not wirelessly – see Cons below). If you pay for the monthly subscriptions you can see it's prior recordings of movement, people coming and going (when that's working), etc. Support is helpful (sent me a replacement camera after 2 weeks of terrible results, but unfortunately still had almost all the same issues) The Cons: (unfortunately there are a lot of these) 1) It takes 30-40 seconds to pull up live view. So, if someone rings your doorbell, you must wait 30-40 seconds before you can even see who it is (meaning you can likely walk to the door just as quick.) 40 seconds is a long time to stand there waiting (go ahead and hit your doorbell and wait 40 seconds you'd probably ring again or walk away). 2) You can only talk via the 2-way audio with live view loaded, so not very useful unless you have super patient delivery people. (see #1) 3) The battery life is AWFUL. Only lasts 2-3 days tops. I tried to get 2 different cameras working over the last 5 weeks and the battery would never last for more than 3 days. Tried changing sensitivity settings to reduce false motion recordings, but never helped. Also, I mounted this above my front door, so every 2-3 days I have to get a 6' ladder out of the garage, go to the front door, take off the camera, charge it (takes forever - see next item), and then go back out and put it back up, reset the position to where it was via live view (so it doesn't record cars going by on the street - only my door and driveway). Getting a ladder out every 3 days to charge this makes it worthless and infuriating. 4) It takes 6 hours to charge the battery (which was why I was so shocked that it only lasts 3 days.) That means if you don't have a backup battery, you have no camera on for 6 hours and have to get up there twice every time you need to charge it. 5) Motion recording - pretty terrible. It takes too long for the camera to "wake up" from low power wireless battery mode to start recording. Half the time it missed the motion (car pulling in or out of the garage, we walk our dog 3 times a day, so 6 times in/out - on average it would catch us half the time.) - This also makes this camera pretty much worthless as a security camera if it misses people coming in or out half the time. Sensitivity wise if you set it too sensitive it records something every 1-2 mins, default setting - very hit or miss and still records when tree shadows move on the driveway, set it to light sensitivity and you really miss everyone that comes and goes. 6) Night recording - AWFUL. I had this installed for 3 weeks and it never once actually recorded me leaving or returning with my dog on our night time walks. From a security perspective - night time is probably the most important time you actually need/want this thing to work. It did actually record some nice dimly lit to black colored night vision shots of my empty doorway (takes too long to wake up and missed us every time and that's only the 10-20% of the time it would actually record night events at all.) 7) Camera is "Offline" - this is practically a daily event. Sometimes just on its own and sometimes when you try to view live view - after a 1 min - 1:30 mins it would just say "Offline". Sometimes if you wait a few minutes and try again it would then come back up. Other times you have to remove the camera from the battery to wake it back up (get out the ladder!). Other times you have to manually reset the camera and re-set it back up in the app. 8) Subscription service (monthly fee) is essentially required. It only saves 1 day (today) of recordings in the Logitech cloud if you don't subscribe, so without paying for one of the subscriptions this can't be used as a security camera at all. Break-in last night? Sorry - all you can see now is today's activity. They are continually updating the firmware and app (3 or 4 times already in the 5 weeks I tried to get 2 of these to work), so maybe they will fix the above issues with future releases, but as of this writing it simply cannot be used wirelessly outdoors.

Fun & functional but not as reliable as should be
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a dog. Our dog keeps escaping our backyard. We couldn’t figure out for sure how she was getting out because everything looked closed and tight like it should be and she’s small enough we couldn’t imagine she could jump the fence. Was a neighbor kid letting our dog out? Was our dog a descendant of Harry Houdini? Had she developed the ability to teleport? Aliens?!?!?! Enter the Logitech Circle 2 to unravel the mystery. I had long wanted a security camera for our home anyway and figuring out how our dog kept finding her way to our front porch when we’d leave was as good a reason as any to finally get one. Setup was easy enough: Just install the app (Android or Apple), power up the Circle 2, use the app to do the initial setup (initially over Bluetooth LE I believe), get the camera connected to your WiFi, and setup a free Circle account to access stored videos online. You get 24 hours of video event storage for free and can subscribe to more if you need it. I charged it up all night then placed it outside in a mostly shaded spot on our back porch where I had a pretty good view of our backyard. I had to adjust the motion sensitivity to just a little shy of max in order for the Logitech Circle 2 to reliably record events triggered by our little escape artist. With the sensitivity set so high I ended up getting a lot of cute but mundane video events of our dog chasing squirrels, birds, leaves, and shadows. The “day brief” feature though made it really easy to browse through the entire day in a compressed fashion find the point in the day when she was no longer in our backyard. Sure enough, after a couple of days of this I was amazed to see how limber and flexible our little Hairy Houdini was as she wiggled her way through a gap in the gate that I had already considered but was “sure” it was much too small for her. After enduring some deserved mocking laughter and “I told you so” from my lovely wife I was able to adjust the gate to make the gap smaller and, POOF! Just like that, no more dog on our front porch when we’d come home. Happy dog, happy wife, happy life. Way to go Circle 2! Here’s a rundown of my observations after using it for about a week: + Battery life is pretty amazing. After leaving it off the charger for 2 full days and nights of capturing all the excitement of the backyard life of a dog, battery had dropped only about 25%. + You can access the camera remotely through the app or a web page. With the app you can zoom and pan within the limits of the camera’s view, but I couldn’t find a way to do that on the web app. + You can take pictures of individual frames of video, or even download the entire video for your own archives and fun if you want. + Night vision mode. A nice idea but sometimes it doesn't seem to be engaged at all when it should be. I have several video snippets where the camera clearly detected something, and you can hear the audio, but the video itself is uselessly all-dark. When it works though it works pretty good, see attached images to this review for an example pics of the same scene at day and night. + Had some fun with the voice feature to freak my kids out when they were playing in the backyard and realized I could both see, hear, and talk to them through the Circle 2. Yeah, a cool and maybe slightly creepy “dad is watching” moment to keep them guessing. The Toy Story “So play nice!” Sid scene comes to mind. - My one big disappointment was that in the first 3 days the camera went “offline” twice, apparently just locking up, and the only way I could get it back online was to disconnect and reconnect the battery pack. It wasn’t lack of battery power, nor poor wifi because even when it’s outdoors it’s barely 10 feet away from its 802.11AC access point in the living room just a little on the other side of the same wall the camera is near when it’s outside. I love the overall simplicity and functionality the Circle 2 provides but if you can’t trust it to be stable then it’s hard to trust it with home security duties. I did verify I am running the latest firmware and I’m hoping the stability will be fixed in a future update. So it’s useful, but keep an eye on it. At least the app is kind enough to let you know “Camera is offline” so when it does go offline at least you'll know, assuming you have notifications enabled.

Good Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Logi circle charge didn’t hold long at all. I keep it plug in at all times now, I don’t have to deal with losing the charge or camera going dead. I have installed both of my cameras inside at the glass window. The pictures will show daylight and night time. I have a dusk to dawn light on the front porch and back side of house. I also have a motion light installed on back side of house as well. The sliding door picture doesn’t show motion light just dusk to dawn light. One of the cameras are at the sliding glass door, which hangs down from the outer trim of the sliding door. I do have the Logitech alert and I used the black hanging part from this camera since it no longer work and installed it on the Logi circle (basically screwed it in). The other one is at the front door looking out of the half moon window. I hope this helps.

Logitech dropped the ball on this one...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying that I have been a logitech fan for many years. I have purchased from them countless mice, keyboards, speakers, headphones, cameras, remote controls and more. But this camera really let me down, at least from the first week of using it. There isn't much good to say about it that I have found so far, but I will try. It does look pretty neat when its mounted on the wall outside my front door, and the 1080p video quality is really good during the day. The software that gives you a day brief in either 60, 30, 15 or 6 seconds is really neat and you can certainly save a lot of time with this. However and unfortunately, that is where the good stops. My first week of using it, I have already had to recharge it from a "low battery' warning. Logitech claims that the battery should last up to three months or so. Maybe in time that will be the case, but I just don't see it happening. The motion detection that it has seems to be a little slow to actually turn on the camera and start recording. I was able to walk all the way up my walkway (about 15 feet), get to my door and stand there for a second, then turn around and walk back. The video that was captured was me walking away. Not that great if you need to identify someone who is at your door or just stole a package from you. That can probably be improved with over time via firmware updates though. I also had a few cases where the video is did capture (during the day) had a magenta hue to it. Also, the delay of the app (and actually the Web interface on my laptop) to connect to the live view of the camera so that you can use the built in speaker to talk to someone at your door takes forever and a day to actually connect. I have tried it on both the same wi-fi that the camera is on and also my fast LTE connection on my phone. Again, something else that could probably be improved upon with updates. I am very disappointed with the night vision being only rated for 15 feet as well. I did hear that if I added an illuminator, than that could help out with the distance issue. I can't really recommend using this to watch over your cars or your front porch over night though. Another complaint I have is with the mount, the camera seems too heavy for the swivel part and I have come home today to a camera facing down, I think a little wind helped push it to that position. Also, if someone can reach the camera, they just need to twist it and take off with it, seems VERY easy to steal. Overall, with the price you pay for this camera, I would expect more from it. Again, a lot of this could be bugs that Logitech will work out and make it a great camera.

Quick and Simple Set Up
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech Circle 2 Wire Free Camera is a second generation product, and it shows. Instructions are pretty sparse, because, quite frankly, detailed instructions are not needed to have this product up and running. I had it out of the box and connected to my Wi-Fi network in less than 10 minutes. The wide angle picture is quite detailed and offers a clear view of the area being observed. I have not yet used it outdoors, but it could be used for for that purpose as it is designed for all weather applications. The camera has a short usb charging cord, which concerned me at first, because I assumed the camera needed a constant power source. Wrong. This wireless model fully charged overnight, and can be moved around from place to place for up to three months before having to be recharged. Using the Logitech software, I am able to monitor the live picture from virtually anywhere in the world, and, for that matter, have two-way voice communication through the camera. Nice. For approximately $100 a year, more extensive monitoring services, including greater storage time, can be had. You are limited to 24 hours of activity without subscribing to the more extensive service and storage. This security camera works like a charm and is dead simple to use. I love it.

Posted .Hello ! Thank you for the 5 star review ! We are very glad you like the 180 degree field of view and the picture quality provided by Circle 2. Your Circle 2 Wire-Free’s battery may last up to 3 months when the Default settings (Settings > Camera Mount) are selected and assuming normal usage, which is an average of 5 minutes of recorded footage a day.
Circle 2 Wire-Free has a 6400 mAh rechargeable battery. The camera uses a motion detection sensor to go into a low power sleep mode when there is no motion detected, conserving battery life and only waking up the camera to start recording when the sensor detects motion. The camera is not intended for continuous recording.
Usage parameters that impact battery life include the selected resolution, LED use, the amount of time spent live streaming, and number and length of recordings.
Other factors that impact battery life include your home network's Wi-Fi strength and location relative to your camera, ambient temperature, humidity, and more. Please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions. We will be happy to help ! -Marion from Logitech

Excellent quality and long battery life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great small camera, with a birds eye view. The setup process was very easy, just had to download the logi circle app and pair them up (the camera must be plugged in power for this process). You can assign an area number and also sign up for the Logitech account (you could store videos there). Pros: +Very small and unobtrusive +Has a very wide angle +Can detect movement so it only activates and records when a person is in the area. +Has night vision which is very clear. +Great battery life. Cons: -The mounting system is kind of flimsy, some times my camera just goes all the way down by itself and records the floor :( Due the last con, I may have to fork out and get their optional window mount which is like a suction cup I guess so I can mount the camera on a window. The battery life has been stellar, you can program it so it only activates by movements (which you could setup to any movement or a persons movement). You can have it record all the time too, however I think that will kill the battery really quick. I paired it with my home's wifi and I can check in my home from work from either my job's wifi network or my cell phones LTE, which is great to check on pets or when someone from maintenance comes in the apt!

Posted .Hello ! Thank you for the 5 star review ! We are very glad you appreciate the Circle 2's 180 degree field of view and night vision feature ! We are sorry you are having issue with the mount : we are looking into this. In the meantime, you can take the roller ball mount off : the camera will sit on a table or shelf without the camera tipping over. You can also mount it on a tripod from the port on the bottom of the camera. Please email us at [email protected] or call us at +1 (646) 454-3200 if troubleshooting doesn't solve your issue. Good system could be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I like the system, the ease of set-up and the app. However the reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the mount. Every day I have to get a ladder to fix the mount. The weight of the camera and wire-free adapter is too heavy for the mount Logitech is using. I have the camera mounted to a vertical face and every day the camera sags out of place because the mount bearings can't hold the weight of it for long. I will have to rig up something to give the camera more support to keep in the location I need the camera. Some of the reviews talk about how long the system takes to send a notification or adjust for lighting. I have found this to be true as well but believe it can be adjusted in a future firmware update. I have also ordered the 15ft extension to turn it into a wired unit to see if I can set the system to be on all the time and not have to worry with it waking from sleep when switching to live mode.

Sweet-Sleek-Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera has been in my home about 8 hours and I am thoroughly enjoying just opening up the app to watch my living room from a bedroom away! It's wire-free! I can put it by my dog's kennel, in a corner on a shelve, or outside (it's weatherproof)! I'm amazed at the picture and video quality and I have had two other kinds of in home camera systems and they do not match image quality. Let me be real and say I got this guy specifically to see my pups while i'm away and I cannot wait to be able to use the mic feature where I can talk to them over the camera. I haven't invested in any of the accessories but that window mount and the wall mount look amazing. Take a look at my little guy yawning and catching him in action and look how well it blends with stuff on a shelf. It isn't an eye sore and it blends so well. I'm really enjoying camera and can't wait to get another one for my patio.

Worth the $$$

Great web cam
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The things I like about this are: 1) resolution is great - 1080 2) flexible options for use 3) inexpensive 4) free cloud option 5) field of view (180 deg) 6) weatherproof I bought it for my FiL who has 4-5 older Linksys webcams monitoring wildlife. We added the window mount and put it high in a transom. Setup was dead simple. The only issue we’ve had is that it sometimes requires a couple attempts to connect to the wireless network after unplugging it. I’ll prob get one for myself the next time they go on sale.

Great image, terrible every other way
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't believe any other positive review here. These cameras had lost almost 30% battery life in two days. How on earth would they last 2 months! Almost never detected motion through glass. Connection time for live view was 30 seconds to never. And the video service through a browser was unusable. Image quality is their only virtue. Chrome, IE nor Safari would playback video. Returned and bought Nest Outdoor Cams which work flawlessly.
