I'm now a Dyson Fan Boy

I always thought Dyson manufactured very good products and their price point reflected that. Which in many ways, swayed me from purchasing Dyson and going for a lesser brand name that did the same job. I guess the old adage "you get what you pay for" is true, because this Dyson Cyclone V10 does the job, but does the job even better with excellence in mind. The plastic material they used for the V10 is very lite (less than 6 lbs.) and durable with most of the weight on your hands so it's very maneuverable with rotating ball on the cleaner head. Docking station is very easy to install once you find a stud for it and power source outlet to connect to. Suction power is amazing, simply amazing. Pretty much cleaned my entire 1 bedroom apt. with a dust full of cat hair between hard wood floors and rugs. Emptying the dust bin is one easy motion down so you can dispose of the debris without missing the trash can. Definitely charge it for at least 3 hours before use, so the battery cell is at or almost full capacity. Even though I only used it for 30 min., it will still give me time to use other attachments to clean furniture, drapes, etc. My first Dyson product is not a disappointment and looking forward to acquiring other Dyson products in the future (Fan especially).

I like the weight of this product, I like that it has three settings to use, I like that the battery last enough (on medium) to get through the whole house. I would definitely purchase this product again. I feel that it is just as powerful as my mom's Dyson which is the corded version. I am able to get into small places and reach places without having to bend over. The only thing that would make this better is a longer lasting battery which I believe is addressed in the more updated version but for someone who need to get in and get out and not feel like they have missed anything while getting a good clean, this is perfect. I took before and after pictures.

A few months ago, I was introduced to the cordless stick vacuum as a home maintenance device. I fell in love with them. I hate cords and so the cordless option for floor cleaning was an ideal product for me. The only issue I’ve had with the stick vacuums I’ve used is power. That problem has been solved with the release of the V10 cordless stick vacuum from Dyson. This vacuum is designed to be just as strong (suction-wise) as the bigger vacuums from Dyson. You can use it for small jobs or the entire house. Dyson considers it to be a ‘true’ replacement for traditional full-size vacuums. It’s flexible and can twist around obstacles in your home. It is rechargeable and will be fully charged within 3.5 hours. The V10 arrives in a brightly colored Dyson-branded box. I was actually surprised that the V10’s outer shipping box also had the ‘Dyson’ name on it. The box was easy to open and all the parts were packaged inside cushioned cardboard cartons. There is assembly required, but the main engine body is all one piece. Dyson makes putting the vacuum together very easy. They not only include an illustrated guide for the wall mount, but there is also an illustration for assembly of the main unit on the cover of the operating manual. The manual includes a full illustrated guide with written instructions in both English and Spanish languages I really like how both types of instructions are included. Some people work better with drawings and pictures than just words. So, it’s great that both are available. Putting together the vacuum is really very easy. The engine section snaps together with the stick body, which in turn snaps into the head of the vacuum. Even though the vacuum comes with a partial charge, it’s best to charge it up full before using it. After I charged the vacuum, I ran it around our house. There are three levels of power on the vacuum — one, two, and MAX. When I was on carpeted areas in our house, I used the MAX setting since a lot of our floors have thick carpet. We do have both carpeted and non-carpeted floors in our home though, so I had the opportunity to use setting 1 as well. Dyson referred to this as the ‘base’ setting. Suction-wise the V10 works great. I’ve had no problems with it cleaning the floors in our house. There have been a few times that debris hasn’t been picked up 100%. Sometimes it will blow debris around instead of being sucked into the vacuum. So, I have had to go over areas more than once in non-carpeted floors. That actually wasn’t a surprise though as most of my cordless stick vacuum experiences have caused that to happen. There are two features of the V10 that I feel are lacking. First, the vacuum won’t stand up on its own. While this isn’t really a big deal until you want to store it, I still wanted to note it here. Second, you have to hold in the power button the entire time you are vacuuming. I’ve had other cordless vacuums that allow you to lock the trigger in place so that you don’t have to keep it held in the entire time you are vacuuming. It’s not such a big deal if you are cleaning a small spot in the house, but if you are doing all the floors, it can become a chore to keep it held in. Other than those two things, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the V10. It’s a very capable vacuum and it has become a replacement for our full size vacuum. We typically vacuum the house — the high traffic areas — every other day with the V10 and then on the weekends we use the full size vacuum everywhere. This helps keep dirt and dust to a minimum in the house. Truth be told, the V10 can do the job, but it does take a bit longer because the canister has to be emptied. It’s a great vacuum and a welcome addition to our home.

Finally decided to spend $500 on a Dyson not knowing it would fall apart in less than a year. It has a 2 year warranty that is not consumer friendly when you have to drive 100+ miles to the closest warranty repair center or ship with paying extra shipping costs.

I really like the power of this dyson v10 motorhead! The suction is very strong and I see immediate results from my carpet. I never knew I had so much dust! The weight and wireless feature allows me to vacuum without dreading the setup. Everything snaps in place and seeing all the dust fill up the bin is very satisfying!

    A Great Powerful Lightweight Vacuum

I've had cordless vacuums in the pass, but was totally unimpressed with any of them. Had a very expensive corded vacuum for down stairs and used the cordless upstairs because the corded vacuum was heavy and awkward to use upstairs. By what I thought was unfortunate luck, both of the vacuums stopped working in the same week. But it turned out to be fortunate luck, because I decided to give the Dyson Cyclone V10 a chance to prove its hype and worth. I was very skeptical, but knowing I could return it if not satisfied, I bit the bullet. So glad I did. This lightweight and easy to maneuver vacuum was even more effective at doing its job than the heavy expensive corded vacuum I replaced it with. I have primarily wood and tile floors, with one carpeted room and stairs. The battery last long enough for me to complete my 2500 SF home. Probably wouldn't make it if all rooms were carpeted, but the charge time is somewhat speedy. So, while the Dyson is quite expensive, it does an exceptional job in a lot less time than I had been experiencing with my 2 old vacuums. Recommend and would buy again.

I bought this for cleaning up hard to get areas in my house, the kind of areas that require more bending and kneeling, as well as cleaning up after pets. I honestly expected to be disappointed with it given that it is rather expensive for a simple stick vacuum, but it was on sale and I needed a new vacuum anyway. After I got it charged at home and tried it out, I will never be without one of these again. The run time is more than you think, but it is limited. Its power is WAY more than you expect and the versatility is the best.

This V10 is lightweight and maneuvers way more easily than even the Dyson Ball Multifloor I borrowed from someone. It has no problem going from my low-pile rugs to hardwood floors. The higher suction settings might actually be too strong for my carpet. Amazing. I can vacuum the whole house on a single charge using the low setting. It’s easier to vacuum carpeted stairs with the V10 than any upright+attachment since the V10 is cordless and because you don’t have to lug the upright with you. You just remove the long stick from the main piece, remove the head from the stick, and click the head onto the main piece. Life-changing. I agree with others that there should be a way to run it without holding the trigger. I just switch between left and right hand every so often. Not a big deal. If you’ve read this far you should just get it already, it’s worth the premium.

Lightweight and powerful, this vacuum is the best I've ever used. It's small size and cordless operation make it super convenient, especially at the office. I can't overstate how much easier this vacuum is to use than the usual corded vacuum. I'm able to clean ceiling air vents, desktops, and hard-to-reach areas much quicker. Operation is bone-head simple and very easy to empty the canister. Just looking at the picture on the internet can give you the idea of the size difference, but you'd be surprised how lightweight it is. I recently upgraded from the V7 and the extra battery life and increased suction power are definitely worth it. The V7 is still going strong after 2 or 3 years of heavy use so I think durability is good too. Highly recommended.

    Same Performance as Standing Vacuum

I've always thought that these Dyson vacuums were too expensive or any vacuum priced above $150 was too expensive. So earlier this year I had bought a standup Hover vacuum for no more than $100. That Hover vacuum was terrible from the get-go, didn't enough suction power to vacuum the carpet freshener and the air was getting stuck. So may the plunge and decided to buy the Dyson V10 cordless, it was a bit on the expensive side. But you get what you pay for it. This vacuum is easy to use and powerful as a normal stand up vacuum. And the biggest benefit is the cordless; not having to plug and unplug as you move from room to room, not having to wrap and unwrap the cord.

I had debated about spending the money on a Dyson; now I wish I'd done it years ago. I have used many different brands previously; nothing compares with this. It is lightweight, flexible, easy to maneuver and never loses power. It is easy to assemble and has great dust cup capacity. I clean it after every use, and at first found it difficult to locate places where dust/dirt might be. I persisted, and now can easily clean the unit after each use. I also want to commend the service and information about this product which I received from the Best Buy employees; they were not at all pressurizing and gave me such outstanding service.

I use this constantly. It is so great when people are coming over in a hurry because it is so much faster than sweeping. I have three young kids and when they eat it becomes a pretty messy situation. I am so impressed with all it picks up. I use this primarily on hardwoods and the rug under my kitchen table. It lasts for my rug and entire wood main floor which is around 2500 square feet. I have not had an issue with the battery and I keep it on max. I also like the fact it is easier to use on the stairs than a traditional vacuum.

It's light and agile. I realized I got lazy vacuuming because my vacuum is so heavy. This Dyson makes vacuuming so effortless. I use it weekly and have had to charge it only twice in four months. The manual recommends cleaning the filter monthly which I thought would be a hassle but there was nothing to it. It's powerful no matter the floor surface - carpet, wood or vinyl. I am now a Dyson fan! I will definitely only buy Dyson now.

This is a great vacuum and value when you shop the sales and price matching. I needed the 1 hour battery since I am using it as my main vac. I tend to clean one floor at a time, rather than the whole house in a day, so it works great for me. Wish you could plug it in and use it with or without the battery, but it’s light and suction levels work well for different parts of the house/furniture. Let’s hope it stands the test of time!!

I love this vacuum. It does a great job picking up stuff as long as not too large and it won't pick up pebbles easily or sometimes at all. It is light and easy to use, especially since no cord to drag around. It only lasts 20 minutes on maximum suction mode. Easy to rinse out filter when need to clean it. Eco-friendly reusable filter.
