|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been hesitant to try a cordless vacuum since I bought a Shark Cordless about 6 years ago and it didn't hold a charge very long and didn't have great suction. This thing is fantastic. We have about 2500 sq ft on our 1st floor and I was able to vacuum all of it tonight with this thing on a single charge and it still had 1 bar of charge left. We have hardwood and rugs. It has extremely powerful suction so much so I had to decrease it to the minimal setting to go over the rugs without picking them up. I have a central vac and used it last week. The dust container was full when I finished and I really couldn't believe it since I had just vacuumed. This thing does a great job (better than my central vac) and the battery lasts also. It is not heavy and easy to use. I don't think I could get better suction with any vacuum out there. I have to say Dyson makes great products and stands behind them. I have a Dyson fan and 2 heaters. The heaters had a recall and Dyson made the recall very easy. All I had to do was take it to UPS, they packed it and shipped it back and Dyson sent me the repaired unit in a timely fashion. Dyson is expensive but they stand behind their product and that is important to me.

Unfortunately, the charge does not last the time advertised. The best we have been able to get from a charge is 20-25 minutes. I would recommend getting a corded Dyson and staying away from the cordless.

Posted .Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson Cyclone V10. The new Cyclone V10 is our longest running and most powerful cord-free to date. It has three different modes that provide different levels of suction and run time. The lowest mode, which runs for up to 60 minutes, is recommended for hard floors. The mid-mode is great for cleaning carpets and will give you about 20 minutes of run time with a motorized floor tool. The max mode has the lowest run time and should only be used for heavy duty jobs and removing dirt hidden deep in the carpet.

I ended up taking it back and swapped it out for the 11 and have had that now about a month and it is okay but not great. It's good for the hardwood and tile

Dyson Cyclone V10 models feature three suction modes, providing sufficient suction to tackle any mess, on any flooring type. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job. Anytime there is a complete lack of suction in our cord-free machines, that would signify a blockage or clog someplace within the machine. While we find most problems may be resolved via simple, yet effective troubleshooting at home, this is certainly not the kind of experience we expect for any of our valued owners. Battery power is only on when the trigger is pushed – this means that the battery is only used for cleaning, and is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles.
Maximum power is intended for use on heavier debris and should not be used the entire cleaning time. Standard mode and medium suction mode provide you with a longer runtime and enough suction for everyday cleaning.

Battery problems
