Great for a dog lover
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Dyson Cordless 2 weeks ago. I have an English Cream Golden Retriever that sheds. I vacuum daily and it is amazing how much it picks up the dog hair. I use it on the lowest battery setting and can vacuum for an hour with battery life to spare. I have the carpet and the floor tools. I think the floor tool is worth the extra money. This is an amazing vacuum due to the light weight and small size. It is easy to take from the closet and do a quick run without a cord. It lays flat to get under furniture where as an upright vacuum is too bulky to slide under a sofa. I also threw it in the back of my car to travel to my daughters house to use there. She loved that it was so quiet. Highly recommend! Worth the money.

Excellent vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent vacuum. The attachments make a huge difference. The suction is stronger than any corded vacuum I have used. You have to use it on level one or two for most cleaning jobs. It isn't necessary to use it on Max. The bin empties easily and nothing sticks to the inside which is a huge plus for me. The battery seems to last a long time in my experience I rarely lose a bar after doing my entire home, approx. 1000 sq. feet. Don't regret this purchase at all!

Great Upgraded Features!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I bought a V-8 Absolute in 2015 when we bought our house. I was initially very skeptical about spending that much money on a vacuum cleaner but my husband was insistent that he wanted a cordless, and at the time that seemed to be the best one. For a while, it worked very well, for our smallish house (1150 square feet of wood and tile floors, with a few area rugs). However, as time went on the battery power began to run out quicker, and there were other problems such as that the dust canister didn't want to stay closed easily and would sometimes open on its own, spilling its contents after I had vacuumed most of the house (causing much swearing). The cord wore where it attached to the vacuum, requiring taping, and eventually the sweeper head cracked. When we looked into replacing the broken pieces, we found that (surprise!) it was almost as expensive as buying a whole new vacuum-which is typical these days, but I was not very happy that we had spent $500 on a vacuum that lasted 3 years. That breaks down to almost $200 a year for a vacuum, which could buy quite a few Dirt Devils! I looked at a number of other brands, thinking maybe I would find something better, but none of them seemed to have the features of the Dyson, and my husband was still insistent that he did NOT want a corded vac (and yes, he DOES vacuum). So we ended up deciding to give the new Cyclone V10 Absolute a shot. I have to say after the first couple of months, I am pleased with the changes they have made from the one we had. The way the dust canister attaches and empties has been completely redesigned, so there is no way it can pop open by itself now! It is a little bit harder getting things off and on it but it overall it feels somewhat sturdier. While It IS a bit heavier, it is not a big enough difference to cause me pain or fatigue while using it (I have had shoulder problems in the past, and heavy vacuums definitely aggravate it). Also they changed where the charging cord attaches, so it no longer has the bend that caused the wear on the old one. The battery charge lasts plenty long for me to go through the whole house and do detailing as needed. I love the upholstery attachment, especially for vacuuming pet beds-it removes all the hair so I don't have to run them through the wash nearly as often. So overall, in terms of my needs, I am so far very happy with the revamped version. Only time will tell if it lasts better than the first one, but I feel the issues I had with the first one (other than the lack of longevity) were very well addressed in the redesign. Bear in mind this type of vacuum may not suit your needs if you have a large house or lots of carpet, and want to do it all in one go. For a small-medium sized house or apartment with mostly hard floors or low-pile carpet, it should work very well. The long reach also makes it easy to dust fan vents and remove cobwebs from ceilings and corners. I have to say, the Dyson cordless vacuums have changed my attitude about vacuuming. I used to say I hated vacuuming and it was my least-favorite household chore, so I tended to put it off. Of course moving to a house with hard floors has helped a lot in that regard, but I also don't mind taking the vacuum out for a spin these days. It only takes me about 10-15 minutes to give the whole house a once-over, making it easy to keep up on it frequently (usually every other day at least, and often a couple minutes of spot cleaning in between, such as around the kitty litter box). If you tend to only clean your whole house once a week, especially if you have kids and pets and/or lots of carpet, this type of vacuum might not do it for you, but for us it's a great fit.

Excellent and Powerful Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest I didn't think it was going to cut it as a deep cleaning vacuum, but after it was charged and I tried it, I was proven completely wrong. Its extremely powerful and easy to use; however, it will take some getting used to as you need to keep your finger on the trigger to vacuum. Since the head is smaller than a standard vacuum, cleaning a room takes extra passes, but nothing to sway my opinion of the latest from Dyson... highly recommended.

Dyson is number 1.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ever since I used Dyson, I’ve always loved their products. This vacuum does everything that needs to be done, the different heads are also a life changer. I use it for everyday use and it’s still working strong. I would always go with Dyson no matter what.

seriously impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remodeled my kitchen and did my flooring recently and dust was all over the place. I was dreading having the dust and mop all my floor but decided to do research on a vacuum that might help with specifically laminate floor instead. The Absolute has the hardwood flooring and carpet attachment, so I just had to buy it. After vacuuming, the dust was all gone! I didn't have to deal with dust sticking to my feet every time I walk across the room. I am seriously impressed. I will see how it goes for the next few weeks.

OK stick vacuum for small spaces only
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum work alright when I lived in a one-bedroom apartment, but it struggles to clean a small home with two pets. I have to empty the bin dozens of times and usually need to recharge the unit before the house is finished. Dyson customer service is awful if you need replacement parts.

Great for the first year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum worked great for the first year. But after that it didn’t work as well and didn’t have great suction. We cleaned it and have even bought replacement parts and it has never worked as well. But it is very easy to use and store.

Too little run time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time ever owning a Dyson and I went for this model even though I really was looking at the corded model. But was convinced by the sales clerk and another customer that this one could do the job. I was skeptical but I spent the extra money and took it home and it was exactly what I thought after 10 minutes on Max the battery died so I couldn't finish the job and then even on 20 minutes on minimum I still couldn't finish the job. I am taking this back tomorrow and will decide whether I try again a Dyson product with a cord or forego Dyson all together since this was my first one and it completely did not live up to the hype that I've heard of Dyson. Power is great but I can't keep recharging every 20 mins to finish my house. I got it on sale but for the money, I don't want to have to worry if I'm going to be able to finish cleaning before the battery dies.

Posted .Hi Tiffani, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Dyson Cyclone V10. Please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job. In suction setting 2 Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date.
I understand that you have initiated the return for your unit, however we would value the opportunity to learn more about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to [email protected]. We look forward to your correspondence.
Best wishes,
Kelly

Would be better if battery could be swapped
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The one failing of this product is the inability to swap the battery. This seems like such a no-brainer in today's world. Every other cordless tool I have, from Dewalt power tools to Black and Decker Lawn tools came with an external charger and at least the option to buy a spare battery. This is such a critical omission from this product, that I can not recommend it to a friend.

Posted .Hi Henry, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We know that suction is one of the most important aspects of performance for our owners. Extensive battery testing has shown us that batteries locked into the machine provide a more reliable electrical connection and provide stronger, more consistent power over time.
We would value the opportunity to address any other questions or concerns. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

Battery Power doesn't last as stated
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this vacuum after my shark gave out. Overall, this is a good vacuum with great suction power for being cordless. The only issue I had with the vacuum was that the battery power didn't last as stated (60 minutes). I conducted two tests after charging the battery over night (mid level settings) to find out that the battery lasted 0:20:24 minutes. If you can clean your house/condo within a 20 minute window, then I highly recommend this vacuum.

Not worth price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably the worst vacuum I’ve used. I honestly expected more for the price. The performance equates to a $50 vacuum. What they fail to tell you is that after 3 1/2 hours of charge, you get 8 minutes run time on max, 20 on medium, and 40 on minimum when you’re using the rotary tools. You get about 55 minutes when using the various crevice tools included. The vacuum feels nice and the suction is decent, but for $700 I’d like either the option to use it corded, exchangeable batteries, or simply a longer run time. I bought this to replace my big ball cinetic but will undoubtedly be returning this and buying the cinetic again. Maybe I’ll like this vacuum in a few years after they’ve made some adjustments but for now, it was very underwhelming. My house is about 1500 sq ft and it didn’t have enough juice to vacuum all my floors. Very meh.

Posted .Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The new Cyclone V10 is our longest running and most powerful cord-free to date. It has three different modes that provide different levels of suction and run time. The lowest mode, which runs for up to 60 minutes, is recommended for hard floors. The mid-mode is great for cleaning carpets and will give you about 20 minutes of run time with a motorized floor tool. The max mode has the lowest run time and should only be used for heavy duty jobs and removing dirt hidden deep in the carpet.
If you are not getting the specified run times, please contact us at [email protected],
include your name and contact information, and we will be glad to assist.

Absolutely ridiculous
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great machine. Absolutely ridiculous how much Dyson is charging for it. For the same price you can buy 2 robot vacuums with artificial intelligence onboard that will clean your whole house by themselves while you're gone or asleep.
