This V7 came up on the Deal of the Day and I couldn't resist. I bought it for myself and let my daughter have my V6. Both are great vacuums. The V7 is quieter and I like the newer way to empty the dust bin. Definitely recommend this! It was a great value at the deal price.

We no longer have to haul the big vacuum up and down the stairs and it is fantastic about getting under and behind things that you could never do with a traditional upright without attachments. It also makes doing stairs a breeze. Best of all it has the assurance of Dyson quality. One of my best purchases of the year!

I/they like the ease of pushing it around the hardwood floors when vacuuming. The battery life was definitely showing decline, 20 min when new, Jan 14 to 3 min of use by April 20th. This is now used to vacuum up dust and dirt that has been pre-swept into a pile.

Posted .Hello Robe, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our cordless models feature a run-time enhancing trigger, hygienic bin emptying, and a variety of tools and attachments to tackle varying cleaning tasks. With regard to battery life on our V7, your machine features two power modes, regular and MAX. Right out of the box, the machine will be set to MAX power, which provides a generous boost of suction power to tackle more stubborn messes or larger debris. In this mode, your run time will be up to 7 minutes. For everyday household vacuuming, regular power mode will provide sufficient suction, along with 20-30 minutes of run time, depending on the tool being used.
Battery degradation over the life of the machine would be normal; we do recommend allowing time for the machine to cool after use (especially in MAX suction mode), as charging a warm battery can cause the life to deplete at a faster rate. Also, be sure the charger is plugged directly in to a wall socket, and that you're not using a power strip or extension cord. Not only is the Dyson V7 strong and capable, it is also incredibly easy to maneuver and light enough even for weak hands and wrists. The attachments seem to cover everything one might need and were especially useful for the car.
