Sweeper on Brush tears easily
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started out. Loving this. The vacuum works much better than I was expecting, the mop feature is equal to a light mop. Mapping is great although I haven’t figured out how to put up physical barriers yet. Mostly my fault haven’t played with it enough. The bad news I’ve used it maybe 6 times and the rubber “sweep” on the brush is falling apart. I have shoulder length hair it got caught up in the sweeper and ripped it. Life expectancy on the roller is 50 hours I didn’t even get 10. For this reason I am thinking about returning and trying a different brand. I paid too much for it to replace the roller monthly.

Avoid this brand if you want a vacuum that vacuums
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tend to become frustrated when setting up new technology if set-up instructions are inaccurate, vague or just plain wrong. Upon unboxing I encountered the first vague instruction: download the Ecovacs app; A search in the App Store yielded two apps by Ecovacs: Ecovacs Home and Deebot 2017...there was no "Ecovacs" App. I decided to try Ecovacs Home , completed the set up and then started the initial cleaning cycle for which there is nothing in the instructions or quick start guide that tells you what to expect. I didn't feel any exhaust coming out of the machine and it was so quiet that I figured it couldn't possibly be picking up anything...and I was right. I decided to look at the webs site and see if there was any information I may have missed and I was further frustrated by the fact that the website shows pictures of options within the app for my specific device that aren't in the app (that's two vague/unclear/wrong details). Finally I decided to go back through the app with a fine tooth comb; I found the additional help section where Brian S (Ecovacs Advisor) is giving a tip to leave the house while Deebot is mapping for the first time...which is odd because the instructions tell you to monitor the device in case there is an issue...that pretty much did it for me. This robot is listed at $629 on Ecovacs web site...for that kind of money, I think it's safe to expect CLEAR AND ACCURATE INSTRUCTIONS. I would also go so far as to expect consistently in the information provided in the trouble shooting guides...and finally I would expect a A VACUUM THAT ACTUALLY VACUUMS. This robot came home with me today...it will be going tomorrow. It took me less that 24 hrs to be totally turned off by this brand. Barely any suction at all, I observed it unable to pick up small pieces of paper several times, and after a "Full cleaning cycle" there was barely anything in the dustbin at all. This is my second robot vac, and ironically it exemplified the very concerns I had before I purchased my first robot vac which was a was a Neato Botvac D5 (GREAT VAC). I hopped on this for the mopping function, but that's trash too (won't even go there b/c this review would become a book by the time I was finished). When did $629 start getting you mediocrity? Would you pay $629 to someone for a job done less than well? The details matter with Tech, i.e. Tech his short for Technology which happens to be Technical which means specific, which Ecovac doesn't seem to comprehend quite yet. Avoid this brand.

Posted .Hi Jaymes,
Thanks for the feedback here and for reaching out to the support team. Sorry to hear your DEEBOT did not perform as expected. We would ask anyone experiencing these issues to try to following.
Your DEEBOT uses advanced laser mapping and sensors to create a precise map of your floorplan and detect objects as small as 2mm. When mapping your floorplan, please make sure to leave doors wide open, and do not move or pick up your DEEBOT until it returns to the charging dock. Moving your DEEBOT during mapping may cause it to lose the current map which would require restarting. Once your floorplan is mapped - and even during mapping - you can customize your cleaning with virtual boundaries.
Lastly, make sure you have the latest app and robot software. You may need to manually update your app from the app store. For the robot software, you can check for updates in the app settings, under the About DEEBOT menu. We certainly want every DEEBOT to deliver the experience we expect. If you decide to make an Ecovacs purchase again in the future and have any issues, you can reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions and we’ll be happy to help.

Great !
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own the Neato Wifi which is 4 years old, and with testing I left the Neato plugged in for it’s normal weekly routine, then after the Neato finished, I immediately used the ECOVACS which picked up a lot of debris that the $1000 Neato missed or failed to pick up. I learned that the more a product cost doesn’t mean it’s better than the lower priced.

Quick and quiet cleaning!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never had a robot clean my home, but now I'm convinced! It was easy to setup, all you have to do is find a good spot with plenty of space to place the charging dock. Let it charge to full the first time and press the "auto button", it will start mapping your home. I would recommend to follow the robot thru the entire process. A little trick I did to have the robot avoid certain problem areas (for example where my entertainment center is, there are lots of cables and if you don't account this it will eat them or get entangled, also it will have trouble with area carpets as they are a little raised) is to carry with me the box it came it and I placed it in front of the robot to simulate a wall, that way it would think there is one and map it, and avoid it in the future. *Also, be careful to NOT PICK IT UP while it its on, or it will reset the whole mapping you have and done and delete it from the app! You will have to start over! I see a lot of people complaining of this, that their saved maps got accidentally deleted from the app. More than likely they picked it up (even when its not cleaning, you could pick it up while charging and it will delete itself). To do so, you must first turn the switch off.* Other than that, it cleans very well, the container got full after cleaning my apartment, so if you have a large house, you may need to dump it a few times, its not too big. The moping function is great as I have a hardwood floor kitchen, it cleans well leaving the floor just dump, as if you had moped by hand, just a little better. The app is great, you can setup cleaning schedules, create virtual areas and designate which ones you want clean, or the whole thing. I would highly recommend it to constantly clean your home. I'm having it do it daily, and then once a week I do a thorough cleaning, and definitely it makes it easier as everything is kept cleaner!!

Easy Set up, App-Tastic
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have, until now, always been a skeptic of having robots do my dirty (pun intended) work. I have since changed my tune. I cannot put into words the burden that this little guy has removed from my life. I used to, and still do, dread cleaning day. That hassle is now removed from my life. The awesomeness of this machine boils down to 2 areas in which this brand exceeds all other that i have seen. Set up/App Enablement, and the tech that is involved to support that app. With zero exaggeration, it look me 5 minutes to install the app, set up the unit and begin the first vacuum of my main level. As the cleaner drives around my house it actually creates a little blue print of your house showing floor changes (carpet/hardwood) and mapping out obstructions such as tables or couches, etc. You can set timed clean, isolate specific areas which need extra attention too. There are real time cleaning stats for geeks like me to view such as run time, sq foot cleaned, etc. After the first pass through of my main level was complete the dust reservoir was full, i was in shock. My wife and I are in heaven with this little guy making daily cleaning trips. The second area that makes me love this even more is the tech that is behind the bot. Many motion sensors, floor sensing tech to know when to switch between vacuum and mopping. The reaction time of running into obstructions was minimal too... if it bumps into a wall, the bumper senses the wall and maps it into the next route so it doesnt run into the wall again. I am beyond amazed with the tech behind this machine. All in all highly recommended and a major time saver!

Amazing Multi-Surface Cleaner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was curious and decided to try one of these robot cleaners. I came into this without any knowledge or what to expect. I am pleasantly surprised at the cleaning capability and how smart this robot is. If you have room in the budget this is a must have. Pros: Able to clean Carpets , Hard floors and Mops Intelligent , changes modes instantly across multi-surfaces Strong suction for carpets Very thorough on floors Software Easy to Use Features Runs quietly Extra bush and accessories Great battery life, I was able to run 9 back 2 back runs to test before Low battery warning appeared Strong cleaning bristles Cons: Small reservoir for fluid Small container for debris cleaner Charging is slow Setup: The setup was pretty easy, with an easy walk-through. Honestly at first it will feel overwhelming because the book is so thick and when you take it out of the box there are so many attachments. Do not let that discourage you as the setup will be easy and once you find your spot to place the robot everything else falls into place. Cleaning: The cleaning was quick, quiet and thorough it recommends to watch it the first time around in case it goes somewhere it is not suppose to or grabs wires. I have not had any problems on the multiple runs I had the robot do and it cleans corners really well. Maintenance:: The containers are easy to access and clean out when needed. The brush is also hidden underneath the hood to allow easy access to the brush. Overall very impressed of the ease of cleaning Software: Very easy to setup and provides alot of options including a map that shows a layout of the floor that has been cleaned. The initial scan takes time as the robot slowly goes over each section. However after it builds the map you can customize the map to exclude sections. The software has everything including a log showing past cleans / times. I was very impressed with how easy it is to use the application and find myself playing with it alot telling the robot to go clean. Overall I would strongly recommend this product. It is such a fun way to clean the rooms. Keep in mind however if you are wanting deep cleaning then a regular vacuum will be needed. Otherwise if you are wanting for everyday cleaning / scheduling then this is a great buy !

Incredibly smart robot vacuum!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: -Good suction and mopping -Great looking -Killer app and smarts CONS: -Sometimes doesn’t dock properly -Cleaning pad covers some sensors needed for mapping -Map sometimes gets randomly deleted. DESIGN: The Deebot Ozmo 930 is a great looking little bot. The body is all plastic, but the finish makes it look on par with many high-end vacuuming robots. The robot has a ton of sensors around the bottom of the bot and on the front, which helps guide it when cleaning. On top is the Smart Navi disk that it uses to produce a 2D floor map. Included in the box is the pad attachment that clicks on and off the bottom when using the mopping feature. This blocks some of the sensors needed to produce a floor map, which was a little frustrating so you will have to keep this off for at least the first cleaning cycle. The dirt bin is smaller than I would like but the bot seems to do a good job of stuffing it full of dust and lint. The bottom has two brushes for sweeping in dust and debris along with the pick-up roller. You can also swap this for a tangle free suction only solution for hair. Additionally, since this bot does mopping duty too, it has a tank for water that sits on the back that is easy to fill and install. Lastly, the handle on top is sturdy when you must carry it and sits flush along the top panel for a clean look. CLEANING: The Deebot Ozmo 930 has many of the intelligent cleaning capabilities you would expect from a modern-day robot vacuum. I’ll leave the app related features to the next section. First off, the bot does a great job of picking up dust and cleaning. Like other bots it can adjust depending on the surface increasing the suction for thicker carpet. Thanks to the mapping technology it can make a back and forth path like how a human would. I’ve been happy with the vacuuming capability – what is unique with the Ozmo 930 is the mopping capability. The bot comes equip with a water tank and mopping pad and it did a great job of spraying the floor and leaving little water behind. You can adjust the water spray in the app if it turns out to be too much. The mopping feature is an awesome idea that works well and means you don’t need two robots for different floor types. What does this bot do differently? Keeping reading to find out. APP+SMARTS: Along with all the cleaning capabilities of the robot, the app is among the most intelligent I have seen. It offers so many features which help heavily differentiate this bot from others. The great mapping technology in this bot is what enables all these smarts. From the first time you clean the Deebot Ozmo 930 begins producing a floor map which it retains. From the app you can see the map being created as it cleans. This is cool, but the selling points comes with what you can do with that map. You may have noticed that I have not discussed any barriers or wall accessories used to keep the bot out of certain areas. That’s because the Ozmo 930 doesn’t need any – from the map you are able to draw out your own virtual boundaries eliminating the need for extra hardware. The downside to this of course it that you need to let the bot run at least once before setting them up. Next, by taking the map data the Ozmo 930 can divide the map into rooms – you can later go in and names these. Did you make a mess in the kitchen – you can hop in the app to tell the bot to only clean that room. You wouldn’t vacuum your whole house if only the kitchen needed it right? Well, not the bot will do that too! You can also select custom areas to clean as well. The app does all the cool basic things as well like seeing the status, start/stop clean, and errors if the bot gets tangled. My only complaint with the app is since I live in the United States I would love to have square feet instead of meters – a small ask that could easily be addressed in an app updated. SUMMARY: This feature filled bot pulls many high-end capabilities down to a great price point. With a bunch of unique smarts and the double duty vacuuming and mopping capability this bot is perfect for anybody looking to make the jump with a product that is as comprehensive as they come.

Good robovac for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ecovacs - Deebot Ozmo 930 review. This is my first robovac, and have had it for 2-months, as of this review. The moping feature hasn't been tested, and I'll probably never use it. This is a decent vacuum for the price. It does a lot more than more expensive models, but there are some shortfalls I hope Ecovacs will fix with software upgrades. It does clean pretty well, but occasionally misses a spec or two. I have a cat and the Deebot does a good job. The dust collection cartridge is small, and definitely needs emptying after every use. I wish it was larger. It climbs up over my tall, ridged rugs, but does get hung up on lighter rugs, as the sweepers end up under the rug and it gets stuck. The battery runs low if I have it vacuum the whole house level. If the battery runs out, it will get to its base to recharge, then resume cleaning when its fully charged (this is an option in the programming). WIFI setup: I struggled with this for a long time, then called support. Support was very helpful, and I suggest calling support with setup support. FYI it cannot connect to 5 GHz WiFi, only 2.4 GHz. And if you have a duel band WiFi, you'll need to shut off the 5 GHz band before you can connect the Deebot to the 2.4 GHz WiFi. There is nothing said about this in the instructions. One of the things I would like Ecovacs to fix, is that its cleaning is inefficient - that is, it will clean most of a room except for a few small spots, then move on and work its way across the house cleaning other rooms, then return to the other side of the house to finish small patches it didn't do, then go back to the other side of the house again - inefficient battery use. I thought it would "learn" over time, but it doesn't. Ecovacs, please fix this! Another thing I would like Ecovacs to fix is the iPhone interface. The invisible boundaries works well, but the map of the house is so small, the lines and boxes you draw on the map with your finger are seldom placed correctly. This usually takes me several attempts, but once it's done, it's done. You can program the vac to run on any scheduled you'd like, and as often as you would like. This is nice. I find, however, that it's best to pick up as much stuff off the floor as possible prior to running the vac. It can suck up clothes and cat toys - and can get stuck on them. If you would move something to vacuum with an upright vacuum, these items should be off the floor, including ottomans - it just makes the Deebot more efficient. The mapping works well, and I like the back and forth cleaning patterns, as opposed to random patterns of some other robovacs. The laser used for mapping sits on the back edge of the vacuum, and sticks up higher than the vacuum body. When the vacuum backs up, it sometimes gets caught under low furniture. It eventually works its way loose. I was originally looking at the Ecovacs Deebot Osmo 950, which was twice the price of the 930, at that time (I got a great price on Black Friday.) The 950 has the laser inset away from the edge of the vacuum, so I'd think that would help it not get stuck. The 950 can map more than one level of your home, and I also believe it has a improved battery life and a larger dust collection canister. All good improvements over the 930. Overall, the Ecovacs Debot Osmo 930 is a decent robovac for the price. Overall, it's a decent rob-vac for the price.

Just about right!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this thing. It tickles me to brag about it and that I can set it to clean at a certain time or right away no matter where I am. It's important to understand that for an able-bodied person it is a luxury and that you're spending more than twice what a normal decent vacuum costs. I can barely justify that, but I'm not sorry I made the purchase. Have not tried the mop function and don't really care to--wasn't a selling point for me. Pros: -Decent price -LIDAR mapping -It absolutely picks up dirt, dust and debris. -Good app for control -It leaves nice even lines in the carpet which (I think) look nice. -The battery lasts long enough to clean my ~900 sqft in one go. -Quiet Cons: -Sometimes it gets hung up on the dining room chairs and takes forever to find its way out again. -Can't easily dump the debris bin--have to whack it or brush it. Dust and lint really sticks to the back of the filter when you go to empty the debris bin. This can lead to a big mess if you're not super careful (sticking your hands all the way into the trash can) when emptying it out. There may be no way to engineer around this, so it may not be a fair con. -Sometimes it gets hung up on slopes or tracks for sliding doors (I have to stuff pillows on round, slopped base of a chair because the vac will try to climb it and get stuck if I don't block it off)

Overall like the vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this one to replace the N79 model. I wanted the virtual walls option because the N79 would always get stuck somewhere despite any efforts to block it. So far it has been awesome. This one took several hours to map house the first time, but now its very efficient and is finished in under 35 to 40 mins using a specific cleaning pattern insteadofjust random. The only complaint is the suction power is not as good as the N79. I had regular or maximum options on the N79 and this one has no options. It does not clean as good but its not a regular vacuum either. It does keep dust and hair to a minimum until the next normal deep clean.

Does great with pet hair
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two cats and a dog so pet hair is a thing in our house. This vacuum and mop does wonders. Although our WiFi isn’t strong enough until we get our cell booster so I haven’t gotten to use it remotely yet but I can’t wait to get that set up so I can start it while I’m at work and can come home to a clean home. Also mopping setting obviously isn’t a deep clean or scrub but it keeps the tile floors fresh from minor dirt spots. Also got it on sale for 40% off which is why I scored it so high for value. Not sure if I’d have bought it for full price or gone with a cheaper model

Great App but with issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my second robo vac that I owned after upgrading from the DeeBot N79S. This model was a big upgrade over the N79S. I really liked the fact that it mapped out the entire house and cleaned well. This vacuum is smarter than than my previous model as it cleans in lines without missing much it cleaned well. The mopping feature was ok but it is really not made to do heavy mopping , just light mopping with a pad . No for the issues I experienced. I could not get this vacuum to go over two large floor rugs I have with black borders . I have read that other robot vacs have the same issue . I contacted customer service and they recommended that I put masking tape over the drop sensors which did not work for me. Also, if the vacuum battery runs low during cleaning , it should go to the charging station , recharge and return to the spot where it left off. I could not get this vacuum to start cleaning again after recharging even though I had all App settings set correctly. My home is about 2500 square feet and this model just don’t haven the battery capacity to clean on one full charge. Probably better suited for a smaller home. I gave the unit 3 stars as for the price it’s a good deal but it just does not do what I needed it to do.

Great mapping, very poor suction
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vac does a great job mapping. I have seen reports that it just bumps into things and gets stuck, that hasn't been the case for me. I think the mapping is as good as it can get. I can follow the vac anywhere on my app and it covers everything, except corners. The suction is great when you first use it, but you are gonna need to replace the filter a lot to keep that up. This vac for the money has very low suction to begin with....I thought since I had all hardwood floors it would be fine, but I was wrong. The app is very slow. Mopping does okay. I have been using the vac without the roller to avoid hair getting tangled in it, so my last sweeping was with the roller and I had to clean it because it does tangle easily. However it does pick up better with the roller, just a little more work removing the hair afterwards. The water bin is small but works for me. The waste bin is also small, but I empty it with every use and have no issues. I have roughly 2200 square ft and it sweeps it all in one charging. Overall its good, but I think I would have liked more suction for the amount of money.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second deebot... an upgrade for me. I love the mapping/smart nav but there is no way to just control it directionally, it also seems to have trouble on the thresholds in the house, more than my old one. Most of this is nit-picky though as the vacuum and mopping work much better and picking locations after the mapping is complete it an excellent feature. I would definately recommend.

Almost perfect!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previously we had a roombah that was not a "smart" robot vacuum. This thing leaves it in the dust! Excellent mapping, unbelievable cleaning from our hard woods to carpet. Picks up EVERYTHING! Creates map on first run due to using laser vs a camera. We have three dogs and three cats. Two of the dogs are very hairy. (Great Pyrenees and Australian Shepherd) Our house is a fur factory and the Deebot cleans up their fur and all the leaves and other items they drag in. Issue one: Collection bin is rather small at least for us. Second problem is software needs some tweaks. Pausing mid clean to empty dust bin, the unit sometimes forgets where it is upon restart. Also need ability for multiple maps. Hair can build up on rollers so every third run we pretty much have to take rollers out and clean them but again we have a huge hair and fur issue so this isn't normal comditions. Highly recommended and hopefully updates can fix some of the little bugs and maybe make a self emptying version.

Works great around pets but moping could be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this robot vacuum as a gift for a relative that I'm staying with during the covid shut down. They have several kids with several pets. This causes a lot of dirt to get tracked into the house and sweeping multiple times a day. This brand of vacuum has worked overtime being activated many times through out the day to sweep up the hard wood floors of the house. It does a better job than a standard broom and dust pan has. It also handles room transitions that have differing floor elevations very well of quarter inch. This device handles pets very well as a it will continue to operate even if you have a playful cat or kitten hop on it for a short ride or try to play with the side brushes that pop out. If you have a cat or dog that just likes to lay on the floor it the vacuum will bump into them lightly but work its way around them trying to clean as much surface area as possible. The mopping feature is good but could be better. The mopping feature just uses standard tap water so this device will not get your floors cleaned up of a sticky spill. So don't go throwing out that mop you have. The mopping feature is more of a thing for making sure to pick up as much dirt particles as possible so walking your hard wood floors with bare feet feels really nice. If this device could handle a cleaning solution with water for the moping feature, it would greatly improve it's usability to dealing with minor sticky floors. The only other issue I've encountered with this device is it doesn't handle liquids being spilled on it. If you plan on using this around young kids, you might want to get the extended warranty with what ever retailer you get this at for that just in case situation with young kids. Had a cup of water spilled on the device by little kids and it messed up the bumper sensors with barely a month of ownership. It's almost certain if a decent amount of liquids gets dumped on this device that you will need to replace it.
