Worst vacuum wver
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst waste of money we have ever spent. We finally decided to spend a little more for a decent vacuum, all the ones we spent $100 or less on in the past were better built than this thing. The suction is great. Makes no difference if the parts don't go together to get that suction. And the canister won't unlatch. After 3 uses the handle broke.

Hair still gets stuck
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this just because of being sick of the hair constantly getting stuck in my dyson. This one it tends to ball up and cause the beater bar to "bounce" and I have to turn it off and clear the large clump from the brush area. It hasn't been clogging in other places like my dyson does. The suction level on this is quite a bit lower than I was used to with a shark or dyson.

This vacuum sucks... well...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I mean really well! The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Bagless Upright Vacuum really has some suction power. I live in a 2 year old home, and in a couple of places of high traffic, the new carpet had been crushed down. This new Bissell has revitalized some of that carpet, pulling the pile back upright. Setting up the vacuum out of the box took a second or two to double check connections. I had placed the instruction booklet to one side, as there are 'quick start' instructions on the end of each connection of the hose, handle etc. Made for a quick and easy set up. There is a slide guide on the handle that allows you to transition between high pile carpet and low pile carpet/hardwood flooring. That took a moment for my wife to get used to, as without that setting on hardwood floors, the vacuum would 'throw' dust and particles around, but switching the slider sorted that out perfectly. There is a switch that allows you to turn off the brush, enabling you to be able to use the very convenient wand for those hard to reach places. There is a 'detail' attachment, with a built in LED light, which is perfect for getting any dust and cobwebs out of the corner of the room, and makes it a lot easier to see them. There is also a motorized brush that helps you get rid of unwanted pet hair from sofas cushions and places that might be more difficult to get the vacuum into. As the name suggests, this vacuum is geared towards pet owners. I've owned several different major brand vacuums, all claiming they are pet busters. This Bissell actually lives up to that name! The technology that enables the brush roller to remain tangle and hair free is impressive! I have not found more than two or three hairs on the roller at all. It does a fantastic job of keeping it tangle and hair free! Incredible. And the cannister is easy to empty when you finished vacuuming, although being new, there was a good amount of static electricity in it, and I did have to reach inside the cannister to empty it. I'm sure in time it will just release the dust and debris straight into the trash can. There are LEDs along the leading edge of the roller which is a nice feature. I wish they were a little brighter, but they are very useful when vacuuming in darker areas, like on hard wood floors, or under sofas etc. It comes with a 30ft cord allowing you to get to most areas of your home without having to continually unplug it and move to another area. The vacuum has a small footprint and is very maneuverable especially on its small wheels, with a side to side pivot. This allows you to weave in and out between dining chairs with ease. There is a good range of motion with the swivel head, but not quite as low profile as some other vacuums I've used in the past, but then they didn't have anywhere near as good a suction as this machine has. So I guess there has to be a trade off somewhere. If I had one complaint about the vacuum, it would be the wand/handle clip mechanism. The vacuum isn't the lightest and with the back and forth movement of vacuuming, I can feel some 'give' in the handle, it moves back and forth inside the locking mechanism, so it doesn't give me 100% confidence in it's longevity, but time will tell. It does come with a 5 year warranty (which I signed up for right away - as I normally forget to register products and then end up not being eligible for warranty service. This was quick and easily done with an account online at Bissell.com). Overall, I am very impressed with the suction this vacuum has with its 120V motor. It's really made me feel like my carpets are getting a thorough clean whenever I go over them.

Excellent quality Vacuum, best choice to buy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bissell is by far the best purchase you will make for a vacuum. It is extremely easy to put together, and the filter that comes with it, is actually a febreze filter. So when you vacuum your house, not only will it look brand new, it will smell clean and crisp. This vacuum is made very well, you can tell the parts are quality. It has a very long cord, which is really nice because you do not have to keep plugging and unplugging around the house. It has a powerful suction that picks up all the dirt, does not fling around. You will be keeping this vacuum for years.

Not what I thought it was for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this was a regular vacuum, that helped with the pet hair. Well , I was wrong. The roller goes off when you are vacuuming and you have to restart the vacuum for the roller to start rolling. The price was high and not worth it.

Love the Febreze Filter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous vacuum cleaner was a lot like this one and lasted for about 9 months before the brush roll needed to be cleaned. After I cleaned the brush roll, the vacuum cleaner stopped working right. My hope with this one is that since the brush roll is supposed to be tangle free this will not be a problem. Either way, I won't be able to determine that for quite some time. I do like how easy this was to put together, that it has the Febreze filter, it has a long cord, the suction is quite powerful, the tank release is easy, and it has the ability to go from suction for thin carpet to suction for plush carpet. I especially like the ability to change the suction because I have one floor of my house with very plush carpet while the other floor has carpet with less plushness. However, the Febreze filter is probably the best part of the vacuum cleaner because I think it is the one thing that really stands out. It isn't a necessity by any means but it is something that is not available on every vacuum. However, putting the Febreze filter in is the most difficult part of assembly. The issue isn't getting the filter in but getting the lid back on the part of the vacuum that it goes in. It is difficult to line up properly and took several times to get it in correctly so I could lock it in place. Overall, it is a good vacuum cleaner that works well. Only time will tell if the tangle free brush roll works as I expect.

Good but a little expensive!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What's in the box ----------------- BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo 2281 Dusting brush, wand, motorized brush, LED lighted crevice tool Pros ---- 1. Its Lightweight without the loss of suction 2. The roller is hair proof (does not roll hair on it) 2. LED on the vacuum 3. LED crevice tool 4. Looks good 5. Long cord cons ---- 1. Expensive, with a 100$ more you can get a Dyson 2. Not a lift away. Review ------ Assembly - very easy, no tools needed. everything clicks into place once you read through the instructions. Once put in place, its sturdy, stands by itself without support. The Cord winds correctly in place. Operation - Its simple, its a vacuum and everyone knows how to use it. Now, its got a turn-on/off switch on the roller which is great because i do not like to turn it on when cleaning rugs. The design is pretty good, i really liked the tangle free design of the roller. I do not have pets but we always shed hair and when you vacuum the floor, they always get stuck and i always have to use a scissor to cut these out on a regular basis. With this design, i am expecting that i do not need to. So far that's been the case. LED on the vacuum is very helpful at times when you are vacuuming at night. Interestingly the crevice tool also has an LED! I think its a good looking good suction vacuum, the only question is, is it a tad expensive?

Great vacuum for homes with pets
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is based on a house with tile / wood floors that have 3 indoor cats and a large lazy dog. Out of the box I was impressed, the vacuum comes partially assembled and takes minutes to finish assembly and have it up and running. There are 3 attachments, that work directly on the hose or attached to the wand. Sadly there isn't storage on the vacuum for all 3 attachments. I wanted to get the full pet hair exterminator experience, so I went ahead an installed the included Febreeze filter. I found it to be overpowering while using the vacuum, however it leaves the room with a pleasant scent, and the good news is that this is an optional filter, for those who don't prefer it. The vacuum has 2 switches on the body, one for power, and the other for roller on (carpet) or off, then on the handle there is a switch to adjust for low or high carpet. At first glance the vacuum is noticeably sturdy but not heavy, the cord especially, and the canister has a unique design so you aren't required to open it to pull animal hair out by hand every time you dump it. This is one of my favorite features, as I no longer have to spend tons of time cleaning out the canister. This one fully empties when you open the bottom. To use the vacuum, turn it on, to get suction you have to tilt back the handle and you're off. The suction is far better than expected, and I'd estimate one of the best ones in this price category based off of other vacuums I own. I was so impressed with the suction and ease of use with the hose, that I used it to clean my dryer vents and it did far better than my more expensive vacuum. The attachments are a lit crevice tool, a motorized brush, and a dusting brush. These are standard tools and work as expected. I was surprised that I liked the LED light on the crevice tool, having the extra light provides the ability to see under the couch or in the pet bed areas the make sure all of the hair is cleaned up. Overall I give it 5 stars for functionality, this is NOT an under-powered vacuum. My only complaint is that the third attachment doesn't have a holder on the vacuum.

Pet Hair vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned several vacuums over the years. This was my least favorite. It was constantly getting clogged and even scratched my floor. I returned it for another Bissell, as I love their products.

Better than the top tier brands
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bissel Pet Hair Eraser Turbo works and works almost too well. I have never seen the amount of dirt and hair come out of my carpet, so much it makes me sick to see. I have 2 top tier vacuums, one is a Dyson and one is a Shark, both with retail values over $500 and neither do what the Bissel can. To first help you on why the 4 stars then, it is simple, accessory attachment design. Why every vacuum company cannot design a vacuum to hold the hand held brush attachment is beyond me, it should not be hard to add a spot. This makes it a task to go grab it out of a drawer somewhere just to use it. Secondly, the brush roller still wraps up hair, not nearly as bad or as fast as the others, but still does. Back to the goods! The Bissel is LIGHT! This makes it so much easier to take it up and down the stairs and use it on the stairs. It also stays in its upright position instead of falling over with the lightest touch. The power this thing packs is bar none the best available, I cannot Express enough how strong this vacuum is. I tested out a room be going over it with the Dyson first and filled the container about a 1/4 way. I went back over it with the Bissel and filled the container! Gross!!!!! It picks up much more dust, deep down in the carpet plus the amount of dog and cat hair that the Dyson missed was appalling. The attachments work wonders as well, I have zero complaints on their designs or usability. Great job Bissel, but now I have $1000 worth of vacuums that are worthless trash.

Doesn't pick up much of anything!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum takes what you suck up and clumps it up into a ball and spits it back out. I am so disappointed that I purchased a vacuum specifically for "Pet Hair" and it does a terrible job of picking it or anything else up. I don't have a hoard of animals or a dirty house or crazy carpet - I literally do my weekly vacuuming and have to constantly go over the same spot multiple times and stop to pick up the clumps it spits out. Beyond frustrating; especially from a very reputable brand.
