One pot cooking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja instant cooker is really several appliances in one BIG pot. Out of the box the It looks large and is intimidating. Fortunately, the “Start” instructions are very good. After you follow the “first time pressure cooking?” tag using the pressure function is very easy. There are two pressure settings high (meats) and low (delicate foods). The touch digital display is easy to use and the functions pads are well identified. The stove top sear/sauté functions have a temperature range from 150°F to 400°F which should cover most needs. The slow cook function should eliminate the need for a separate slow cooker Steam function is very handy and will allow for healthy cooking. It weighs nearly 12 pounds and requires a lot of storage place. But, you can eliminate the need for a separate slow cooker, steamer pot and rice cooker. The Ninja Instant cooker is really very versatile and the ceramic pot is easy to clean. The 6-quart capacity is large enough for my family needs. The hard part is learning how to adapt your recipes to take advantage of all the features. The booklet indicates there is a glass lid available for the sear/sauté function, but the web site did not show one for this model. The included recipe book is rather sparse but as more instant type cooking appliances get in use I am sure there will be a plethora of recipes to try. I am eager to try different foods with my new Ninja instant cooker. So far it is very impressive and certainly very fast.

Great quick meals!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first pressure cooker, and it has made my wife and I put our slow-cooker into storage! This thing works amazingly well, just used a few online guides for pressure cooking, and my first attempts (a roast and shredded chicken for chicken tacos) were the best I've made! So easy, and super fast!

Pressure cooking; changes everything
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So the instant cooking; via the pressure model... totally opens up the way you can plan meals. Ribs... in an hour. Stews... can be a nearly last minute thought The most tender chicken you can taste... The Ninja is large, can hold enough for a family of 5 or 6. Slimmer then other popular brands, so it takes up less counter space (and you can have two of them). One downside is that the power cord is integrated, so makes it a tad inconvient when taking the pot to the table. Piece of cake to use... just set, close, lock and go. On the counter, it looks slick and sleek, so you can leave it out and it doesn't look obnoxious. Comes with a second seal so makes it great to cook different types of meals, without worry.

Good product from Ninja
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very versatile pressure cooker. Has most of the features of the more expensive models at a much lower price. It is easy to use. It does but building up the pressure takes some time around 8 to 10 minutes (sometimes even more than that for very big quantities of food). So total time is almost same (give or take) when compared to stove top pressure cooker. For stove top pressure cooking, we need to monitor continuously for whistles, and turning off the stove - This you can avoid in Instant pot. Since it is electric pressure cooker with built in settings, it will automatically turn off the cooking for you , so you dont have to stand near by the stove all the time. Baby sitting not required. Manually you can adjust time and pressure as well. Great for people who want to experiment in their cooking to find out the fastest times for their cooking , which saves lot of time than to use preset functions. Delayed timer, which means turn on the delayed timer in the morning and by the time you come from office you have fresh piping hot homemade food ready to devour. STAINLESS STEEL inner pot - NO TOXINS, NONSTICK COATINGS, NASTY CHEMICALS etc in your food. Highly energy efficient and kitchen friendly - Less Electric bills. ONE POT COOKING ( multiple , if cooking multiple dishes by stacking) so less clean up. Overall, yet another good product from Ninja. Would recommend this product.

Great Pressure Cooker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja - 6-Quart Instant Cooker is awesome! Easy to follow instructions and extremely easy clean up make this cooker a winner. I have wanted to try a pressure cooker for awhile and finally got one. The handy "getting started" card was very helpful and gave step by step instructions on how to build and release the pressure to make cooking a breeze. We tried the Minestrone Soup and pork ribs and both were easy and delicious. The cooking and prep time were quick and clean up was easy. You can use it to saute or steam and also as a pressure cooker to make soups, stews, veggies and meats. I can't wait to try more recipes. Once you get the hang of building up the pressure and then turning the valve to release the steam, cooking is easy and fool proof. I really like the way the lid stores on the top to avoid laying it down on the counter. Great design!

Another useful kitchen gadget
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like slow cooker recipes, and this little guy cooks them in a quarter of the time. If you are one who just does not quite trust leaving an appliance with a heat element on all day, this is a perfect match for you. It’s also really easy to clean compared to a slow cooker. The surface is non stick and easy to left out for cleaning. No bag liners necessary. It will break down chicken breasts and pork tenderloin in about the time it takes to come home, walk the dogs, and settle down for the evening! Flavors are the same as you’d expect, which is to say yummy!! This is NOT a true pressure cooker you can use for canning. It’s a crock pot on speed that is easy to clean!

Excellent home appliance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We tried to make the upside down cheesecake and it was easy and very tasty. It came with an additional rubber seal which is nice for different types of cooking. When you first use it. It will hiss and bubble like it is going to burst but after a few minutes that will go away. At first we thought it was defective but having read the manual it was stated as normal operations. I hope to make more meals soon as the idea of what it can do just changes the normal routine of family dinners and adds other fast options.

I actually cook now!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This instant cooker makes preparing decent food quick and easy. There are tons of simple recipes on the internet and this cooker is so easy to use there's no reason to eat from cans and boxes anymore. I just made some delicious chicken noodle soup last night and have never done anything like that before, ever. Start out with something simple like pulled pork and go from there. Excellent!

Great time saver in the kitchen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive always used a slow cooker and wanted to try to speed things up a bit without ruining flavor. First off it comes with dishwasher safe 6 qt pot, steam rack, and an extra rubber ring. I really like that they included the extra rubber ring. The build seems very sturdy and well made. The recipe book it comes with includes a few different recipes with instructions which is nice add-on. The book also includes a cooking chart in the back so save that. I'll admit at first I was a little overwhelmed but after reading the manual and quick start guide I felt a lot better and was ready to start using it. Everything I've cooked thus far has come out really well. Its replaced my old slow cooker as it really is a all in one device. It steams, simmers, sears, pressurize cook, slow cook, and keep warm when done. I can now cook things so much faster that my slow cooker took hours to do before.

Excellent for rice, veggies, or roast
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had heard of instant pots and pressure cookers, but neither my wife or myself had ever used one. The Ninja Instant Cooker is pretty nice. 6-Quart size is great for preparing a meal with friends. Instructions were easy, recipes were limited in the booklet but are everywhere online. Setup was standard for things these days, - pull it out of box, clean it, assemble, follow directions, eat. I think for 'starter' pressure cooker it's a good deal and for a couple, I expect it will last for years.

Takes Time To Preheat & NO DELAY Start
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always liked Ninja/Shark products. They make top quality products. This instant cooker is also top quality. I was sure I will love it. But the only thing I like about this is the non-stick ceramic inner pot. There are many things I DO NOT like about this Ninja Instant Cooker. For now, I am listing a few of them: 1) The power cord comes attached to the pot. There is no hook or something to wind the cord onto. The hanging code is quite annoying when we have to move it from one place to another. 2) One thing about these multi cookers is that nobody speaks/writes about how much time they take to preheat. If you take that preheat time into account then they are actually not fast(well at least for some dishes) nor are they cutting down your cooking time. But I stilled like my Instant Pot because it comes pre-programmed for different types of cooking. I just have to select what type of cooking I need. But this Ninja Instant Cooker is very generalized you have to think about how much time, how much heat you have to set it to every time you use it. 3) After the food is cooked this automatically goes to warm setting. There is no option to choose so as to make this cooker off on its own after the cooking is done. 4) NO DELAY START too. So you have to be there in person to start the cooker and again be there in person to stop it once the cooking is done and you do not want the cooker to go into warm position.

Do not feel safe using this Ninja Pressure cooker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the cooker, sat and read the book. Next day did as the directions said. I used 3 cups water and turned it on. 45 minutes later it was still pouring out the steam along the top edges! Finally stopped it, let it set awhile and opened the top. Measured the water left in the cooker and it was 1/2 cup. If the cooker is using THAT MUCH liquid, what happens when the recipe calls for less liquid? Yes, the knob was on SEAL. I am afraid that it will blow when the liquid is gone!! What a waste of money. I will NEVER use it!
