    Not really cold brew

It's a warm brew, but not so hot that it's as acidic as a hot brew. It's also not as smooth as the 12hr cold brew. On the other hand it's 15 minutes if I forget to make a batch of cold brew. It comes with a nice quality vacuum sealed carafe so it doesn't need a bottom burner to keep the coffee hot. This also helps with keep the coffee from getting bitter when it sits around for a while. So far I've had 2 large cups of coffee and a large tea in the last two hours, brains moving at 100mph! I need it to since I didn't sleep much last night (have issues where I just can't sleep at all some nights). 1 was cold brew, this was almost as good as my 12hr as it was nice and strong and full of flavor. Second I did a traditional brew coffee. Ooooh it was hot! Added my cream and sugar and it wasn't bad at all. Just a bit more "dry mouth' from the acid than the cold brew but overall very good. Last was my tea. I just used a bag since I don't have any loose leaf. The Ninja automatically switches to tea mode when you swap filters and offers brew settings for different types of tea - black, white, green, oolong. I used black. I didn't really time it, but it seem it was about 5minutes to make the tea. The filter unit has a spring loaded "thing" that controls how long to steep tea (and coffee) to get stronger flavor. I think I'll try cold brew on the tea next time since I think it came out a little too acidic too. Holy smokes! I should have waited until later to do this review. Brain is wired, body tired and I still gotta do a new 4RM on OHP tonight. There's this thing that tells time in the stock... er, on the brewer and you can program it for a brew delay. This will come in handy on Monday have a liquid energy ready to go when I'm out the door. I used the frother too. My old cappuccino unit had a steam frother which warmed the milk while getting it all floofy. This unit just uses the wire type and does a decent job getting it all bubbly. I used half and half so no idea yet on how it'll handle whole milk or (my favorite) heavy whipping cream. It's been a while since I've been impressed by a coffee make and I've been through dozens from drip to french press to cappuccino makers to single serve pods. This is definitely one of the best I've used and will now the the official source of me not sleeping!

This is just a great machine. With the separate baskets for coffee and tea (loose or bagged) there is no concern over flavors blending. The water reservoir is good sized for the unit and a half pot makes plenty for my 34 oz. mug in the morning. The flavor of the coffee is good, albeit a bit strong, but that might just be me using heaping 'spoons' rather than level. I have not used the frother yet, because I went on vacation right after receiving this unit, but I expect to shortly, just to see how it works. The mesh baskets are easy to use and clean between pots, but I would think you could easily use cone style paper filters, if you so desire. Very pleased with the speed of brew, not too fast to make it weak, but not too long to make it bitter and overly strong. Full pot brews in about 5 minutes.

I bought a similar machine from ninja last year or the year before that and it was great but I sold it because I was getting rid of stuff. This machine is better then that one m. The only thing this doesn’t have that it had was a warning plate. This machine can make cold and hot brews of coffee and tea as well. Also can froth milk as well. There is two filters for the machine one for coffee and one for tea which the machine can tell automatically. Also great that it get rid of buying filters as well which is great

Ninja is truly a different coffee maker. It has so many features that make it stand out from other brands. I love the fact that this machine makes great coffee, but great tea too. It also makes speciality drinks that you can't necessarily make with a brand like Keurig. I love the variety of settings it offers for different kinds of coffees and teas. You have options to brew your coffee and tea strong or weak. It's easy to understand all the settings too. I'm not one that reads user manuals front to back and I like to figure out things on my own, and I was able to do this pretty effortlessly. Just like the Keurig, you have different cup size options BUT with Ninja, you can also make an entire pot of coffee! Which is perfect for me, because while I drink cups of coffee...I drink multiple cups and just have to keep using K-cups or filling up the water tank, etc...which is comes with a water tank similar to Keurig. It's removable, easy to clean and the container is clear so you can see how much water is left. It comes with a coffee measurer too that attaches to the side of the machine. I personally don't use it very often because I'm one of those people that doesn't do exact measuring but I did think it was very clever to include it for use if need be Honestly the feature that makes me very in favor of Ninja now is the frother. It allows you to make lattes easily and that's something I spend way too much money on at Starbucks. I love this machine. I've been strictly Keurig for a long time but Ninja has changed my mind. The fact that I can make a pot of coffee, tea or a latte all within one machine makes me a very happy caffeine addict, haha!

A fancy coffee maker for a fancy person

If you feel fancy, this is the coffee maker for you, I think. I've been on the single k-cup coffee makers for years now but am unsure why because I almost always drink more than a single cup of coffee. This is my first normal drip coffee maker in a long time and I'm really impressed with it. The water tank is very easy to remove to fill up (and a full carafe of coffee uses a full tank of water) so if you're entertaining and making multiple pots of coffee, it's really nice to be able to remove and refill the tank quickly and easily. It's not a dig on the coffee maker but my mindset isn't quite used to refilling the tank after each pot of coffee so I've made a couple of pots that were a quarter cup of coffee made with a full serving of coffee grounds. Controls are really simple too. A single dial cycles through the various brew modes. Another dial cycles through the size you're looking for. Then just press a button and you're off to the races. I love the permanent filters. There's a permanent filter for coffee and tea. I haven't made any tea yet but I am a big tea drinker than this will probably just make things even easier to make. You just pour the loose leaf tea (or tea bags according to the instructions) in the filter and select what kind of tea you're making and press go. Cleaning the coffee filter is pretty easy, too. Overall, I can't say enough good things about this coffee maker and I haven't even tapped it's full potential. I still have yet to make tea or a cup of iced coffee (the coffee maker I got doesn't come with a large cup for brewing straight into so I'm going to buy one first). If you're looking for a new coffee maker and this fits your budget, I say go for it. I'm not going back to my Kuerig anytime soon.

This great coffee maker is just like it's sister, Ninja Coffee Bar, only with the tea option added. Same great features as the Coffee Bar. You can brew coffee or tea in various sizes. A cup, travel mug, xl cup, or carafe. You may also choose a brew style, Classic, Rich, Over Ice, or Specialty. Tea types to choose are Herbal, Black, Oolong, White, or Green. Highly Recommend.

This is a pretty feature packed coffee maker. You can brew anything from a single cup to a pot with sizes in between. The unit is very simple to use and looks good on the counter. Features: built in milk frother, multiple filters for coffee or tea, multiple brewing styles. This unit has a specialty brew cycle that mimics an espresso "shot" of 4 oz. While its not brewed under pressure like a true shot, it helps create that style of drink while not having to have a separate espresso machine. You are able to brew tea by simply tossing in tea bags into the filter, or you can also use loose leaf if you wish. It is also able to brew "pod" style cups, without the use of an actual pod. Simple put in a couple scoops of coffee and select the cup size you wish to brew and you're done! The milk frother lets you mimic specialty drinks from a coffee shop. Keep in mind though, this is not a steam wand and it will NOT heat up your milk, only froth it. You need to microwave your milk if you want hot frothed milk. Over all, this is a good compromise of a machine. You are able to brew many types of coffee/tea, while only having one machine. Is it as great as having a special machine for each type of drink? No, but I wouldn't expect it to either.

Really awesome Coffee and Tea Maker!

I had given up coffee for a few years until my wife and I got a Keurig K-Cup Coffee and Tea maker for a wedding gift and I got back into it. Unfortunately K-Cups are pretty expensive and also limit your options so when I saw this was available I decided to take a chance on getting back into loose tea and coffee. This unit is very impressive out of the box and it's nice to, once again, have a clock and the ability to set a time for a morning brew. But heck, just having a clock is nice too. Setup is very easy but you'll want to read the manual for sure and keep it nearby when using until you get used to it. It's nice to have separate tea and coffee chambers to avoid cross contamination of taste. For starters my wife and I got some herbal tea and used it to brew. We noticed the "regular" cup sizes are small so we began using the XL size when we brew. It's really awesome to be able to brew all sorts of sizes though, something you are limited with the Keurig. The taste of the tea was phenomenal and the ability to make it strong or weak is something we didn't realize we had been missing using the Keurig. We have been using this for over a week now and we both love it, we still do use the Keurig but won't be using it as often. It's nice to have both. One con is a couple of times we've had some of the water not pour through when making tea, getting caught up in the tea chamber. The drink still made and water still came through, just not all of it. I think that was my fault though for not getting the filter aligned 100% correct. But I've had it happen twice now. Plus another con is having to clean it out after each use, but it's very easy. Overall this is a definite recommend from me, especially if you've just been using a Keurig for awhile. Keurig is nice but it's limited in function, thus the convenience though. But this gives you the ability to do a lot more experimenting and creating your own drinks. Speaking of which, the documentation comes with all sorts of really cool recipes, some involving alcohol which I really liked! Really cool!! Definitely check this out if you're a fan of cold brew as well as that's something our Keurig doesn't offer. Two thumbs up!

I replaced my keurig with the ninja coffee bar and i could not be more happy about it. its much more aesthetically pleasing on my counter and takes up less space. it does so much more than just brew hot coffee. i love the cold brew coffee feature and that it factors in the melting ice when preparing your drink. Great buy!

Incredible all-in-one coffee / tea brewer

The Ninja - Hot & Cold 10-Cup Coffee Maker is truly an incredible all-in-one coffee / tea maker. It has so many features and options but the machine pretty much takes care of everything and it really isn’t all that complicated to operate. It comes with two baskets (one for coffee and one for tea) which is great for those who often brew both but don’t want their tea tasting like coffee. The best part when it comes to this brewer is the cold brewing function. It does an incredible job of brewing cold drinks relatively quickly (it really does only take about 10 to 15 minutes) without watering down your drink. This function alone really makes this machine worth it and I highly recommend it!

I own the Ninja Coffee Bar® System with Thermal Carafe Model #: CF097 and I love it. I've purchased this to upgrade from the old to the new sleeker model and the additional features. I love that it has a separate basket for tea and that you can make different types of tea straight from the machine rather than brewing water and adding a tea bag into it! It knows what settings to use based on what tea type you've selected, it's easier to make fancy cups of tea with this version compared to the CF097 version. For coffee, it's still the same though! (No complaints there) My only con is the thermal one doesn't come with a heated pad, but the glass one does. And I personally prefer thermal over glass. I don't know why only one model comes with a heated pad, both should. Other than that, it's a 5/5. I'm a very avid coffee drinker.

At first it was good. Now the thing just leaks everywhere. Coffee all over my counter constantly. Highly irritated about this when spending this amount of money on a coffee maker. They said they can replace the entire base but I have to pay the shipping fee. I’m all set with that.

Pointless for Stainless Steel Carafe with open lid

Needs a better design for stainless steel Carafe lid. The whole point of paying more for Steel Carafe is to keep coffee hot longer but heat is able to escape through hole on top. Very disappointing. Waited so long for price drop and was so excited to use it. This was day 1 and already thinking of returning.
