Expensive and cheaply made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this vacuum, about 6 months ago, to mostly pick up dog hair off the hard surfaces. I was really excited about the features and made this my "go to" vacuum. I also own a Rainbow, which is fantastic, but cumbersome to put together for quick cleaning. About 2 months ago, I noticed the Shark APEX was not cleaning as well as it used to. It worked ok on carpets, but was worthless on the hard surfaces. I continued to use it, only on the carpeted areas. It turns out that the soft roller, the orange one, stopped spinning and this is what the issue is. I had my husband call SharkNinja to troubleshoot this and we were told that we needed to buy a replacement part for over $100 with shipping and taxes. This seems a little excessive for a $300+.00 vacuum that is only 6 months old. We were informed that the warranty does not cover this part. We were also informed that this issue is only a 1 in a million occurrence. Lucky us. We'll be installing the new part, but if anything else breaks, this will be headed to the dump! Buyer Beware!

High performing garbage.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this vacuum for arrox 3 years. We have gone through 3 power heads now. The first one they sent for free. The second one I payed for and the third one I refused to pay for and after about a day of going back and forth with them and after I threated to report them to the BBB they caved and gave me the third. First two heads the front roller gave out the third now the second roller is going out. WIth all of these interactions of course they tried to say i was miss using it. I was not. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats and all the reviews and ads claimed that this would be appropriate for this. We do the proper upkeep to keep it running well. That obviously did not help. They just make crappy products. Customer service is an absolute joke. I have had cheap 80 dollar vacuums that have lasted far longer. It works well what it does work but it breaks down far too often. Do not waste your money on anything shark.

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am super happy with this thing. Especially on hardwood floors. Sucks it up with ease and it doesn't blow it all over the place like my old vacuum. It's a lot of money, but if you have several animals it's well worth it.

Despite all the attachments, I'm not attached
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited about this vacuum. I initially thought lots of attachments would be wonderful...I was wrong. There are places to attach two tools. It comes with 5. One of them kept falling off. My Dyson spoiled me. It was super easy to use the hose to get into the far to reach places but with the Shark it requires an attachment to do that job. Overall the vacuum is lighter weight, but big and clunky. Lots of features but it isn't very intuitive to use. I haven't been impressed and would go out of my way to discourage others from trying it.

DO NOT PURCHASE - absolute garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This company is a joke. The floor nozzle hose is worn out (has multiple tears in the hose at the elbow in the brush bar floor nozzle. They claim to have a 7 year warranty. The warranty says everything is covered except for the filters. When you call they will tell you it is not covered. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS VACUUM!!! BUY A DYSON.

DON'T BUY SHARK: defective design and bad support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This model suffers from a design flaw. When vacuuming on carpet, the brush roll and floor nozzle (entire bottom part of the unit that houses brush roll) shuts off and back on quickly & frequently. Working with Shark product support for over a month and the problem still persists. I've gone through a total of three brand new units and four floor nozzles (which they insist every time is the problem but it's not). I've been without a properly working vacuum for over a month going in circles with their product support. Also, their warranty doesn't cover the floor nozzle so they'll ask customers to pay for the part which is $80 plus shipping.

Dont buy.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great vacuum, if the front roller didn't mess up so often. Within the span of 6 months bought 2 different vacuums and both had issues with the front roller. Dont have time or money to try for a third so just returned and bought a Dyson. Sad because I really liked the vacuum. Hopefully shark fixes the issue.
