Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the Botvac D6 Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum's app, suction, efficiency, and mapping capabilities. They appreciate the extended battery life and its ability to pick up dog hair. While some users find it to be a bit noisy, many agree that it is not excessively loud. The no-go lines are also seen as a significant improvement over previous models. On the downside, a few customers have mentioned that the vacuum occasionally gets stuck and that its navigation can be confused by furniture placement.

Pretty good robot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a Roomba, and Samsung robot and by far in terms of getting the job done Neato hands down but there are some cons. The vacuum pattern of Neato makes so much sense and honestly all of the robot vacuums need to follow suit. Instead of a random vacuum pattern and missing spots Neato thorough and goes in a snakelike winding pattern throughout the whole floor and is able to get every inch. It’s much quieter especially compared to the Samsung which is bulky the Neato is sleek even town to the charging station. What surprised me was I didn’t have to stop it myself! I tested it out first in my room and honestly after about 8 minutes maybe? It just went back on it’s own I thought something was wrong but it quickly and efficiently vacuumed my whole room before I realized it! Con: CONNECTIVITY ABD THE NEATO APP. The Neato app for ihone is just a joke honestly it’s only rated 2 stars and I see why. As we speak still cannot use it. When I tried to connect Neato to my network it took multiple attempts and I finally just gave up and I got a notification that it connected to my network after an hour but the app says the robot isn’t connected despite me getting everything setup properly. I tried to go through the steps again the next day same issue so I just decided to manually start Neato. It’s not good that the description is app controlled robot vacuum but the app is below subpar. Other than that overall good quality vacuum and my favorite so far. A remote would be a nice alternative.

Vacuum has really cool features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a lot I like about this vacuum. It has a long battery life, web application, and powerful suction. The web app gives you a visual map of where the vacuum has been. I have another brand and the suction and features are superior. So why 3 stars? This vacuum struggles to get back to base. I have used it 6 times and it has failed to complete the job without getting stuck and requiring human intervention. I have an area rug that it gets stuck on. It is pretty shaggy but my other model works around the rug. It gets stuck under my bed. There is a way to block off areas with the app but I have not been able to figure it out. Many great things and if your surface is pretty consistent, it might work perfectly. For me, it does not.

Could and should be so much better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for a little over a week now and so far, Im not impressed. In theory, the features are great. Square head for cleaning in corners, very good app integration and notifications, excellent laser guidance, several cleaning options and programmable No-Go lines. However, I still haven't been able to get this thing to create a floor plan so that I can program the no-go lines and for some reason when it returns to base, it never quite connects all the way, so instead of charging, its actually not docked at all, so the next I go to use it i have to charge it first. This has happened on every occasion that I have used it. After the third failed attempt to have a complete floor plan, i literally followed the vacuum with the included boundary marker to make sure that the vacuum only went in areas that I wanted it to. So after over an hour of playing a vacuum ninja, it appeared that the mapping was complete and it was headed back to base. Unfortunately, once again, it didn't seat itself into the charging dock, so the mapping was incomplete thus requiring me to start the process all over again. I haven't had the patience to go through the programming again, so for now it sits in its dock, charging until im ready to put back on my black belt and play ninja again. I gave this two stars because it picks up great, it gets into the nooks and crannies since it has a square face and the app is easy to use and works perfectly with the vac. If I could just get the floor mapping to complete, I would be a happy camper. However, until that day happens, I have to give this two stars.

Outstanding little vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum works surprisingly well and has surpassed my expectations. It arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition. It was out of the box and charging within 5 minutes. After charging for a few minutes I then downloaded the Neato app for my phone and had the Neato D6 Botvac connected to the phone within 2 minutes following the instructions on the app. I picked up all loose items around my house and the kicked off the vacuum to run when we were leaving the house for a few hours. The initial cleaning took just over 2 hours to map out my downstairs. I got a notification when it was done and a map showing everywhere it cleaned. I was also able to connect it to my Alexa Echo in about three minutes and now just tell Alexa to have Neato clean the house. For as small as the vacuum is it can collect a surprising amount of dirt and items off the floor in the dirt collection bin. Emptying out the bin is a snap and only takes about 30 seconds. It is surprisingly intelligent also if it gets stuck somewhere it notifies you via the app. I received this product as a promotional product and as my first smart vacuum cleaner I have been very impressed with it and my wife has been just as impressed.

Great improvement over prior versions, recommended
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not an "I just opened the box and wanted to share my initial excitement with you all" review. I took my time to test it well before I wrote this. Keep in mind that I had Neato products for more than 6 years and this is my third unit. As you might have guessed, I must like something about them since I keep getting them. The very first unit was a non-connected model, meaning no connection to internet, just an old-fashioned "press a button here" to start. That first unit served me well for over three years, then in year four it broke. I had the BestBuy Geek Squad warranty on it, brought it to the store, got the full original price on it. Used that money to get my second unit, the original Botvac Connected. That unit still serves me well, no issues to report. Before I go to my newest addition, the D6, let me share some observations on the robot vacuums in general. What I have learned over time is that their navigation system, how it is set up, plays an important role toward your satisfaction with the product. What path will it take? Will it go randomly or use a somewhat established plan? What separates Neato from other competitors, as per company, is that their navigation system creates a plan and systematically goes area by area instead of going all over the place in random. I can attest to that, Neato travel path seems very well defined. The next question is can you control it remotely, via app? Say you're away and you want floor to be cleaned because someones now is coming later on today. My second Neato had the app and I was able to launch it remotely from the office, miles away from home. What is very helpful with the Neato mapping system is that it shows the actual self-created floor map so you can see what had been cleaned and what was possibly omitted or not entirely covered. In addition if Neato gets stuck somewhere (life happens), the map will show you the location of your robot so you can easily find it and get it unstuck. Plus you will get alerts via your app about what is going on with the robot (got stuck, returning to base to recharge the batteries, cleaning completed, clean my bin, etc). Neato also provides one magnetic strip that you can put on the floor to tell your robot not to go over it in order to prevent the robot to go to that area. But even with that magentic strip the robot might get stuck from time to time in the same areas. In my case it was under the sofa and sometimes between two big chairs (extensions cords were there). So when I found out that the new D6 has a new feature called "no-go lines", I got intrigued. Seemed to me like a perfect solution to avoid the robot getting stuck (which could be unnerving especially if you're not on location when that happens). So, just to get this new "no-go lines" features I had decided to try the new D6 model. In a nutshell the "no-go lines" feature does work perfectly for me. We have about 2,000 square feet to cover, with multiple rooms, doors and plenty of furniture and stuff, a typical house. You open the application, do the initial run (go to Menu, My Floor Plan, then No-Go Lines and start the program). After the robot completes the entire run (will need to cover the entire area which can take time) the floor plan will be created and you will get the notification of it. Next, from the menu go back to the floor plan and using your finger draw the no-go lines where you do not want the robot to go. That could include doors to other rooms (say utility or a bathroom for example) or around some pieces of furniture or anything else that would apply to your layout. after finishing drawing all the lines save them. To utilize the no-go lines feature YOU MUST start the robot from the application only (you could also start the cleaning directly from the robot, but the no-go lines feature would not work). In my case after creating the no-go lines I had several doors kept open on purpose and started the D6 from the app. It never got stuck, it did not go through the doors where the no-go lines were laid out, no issues with completing the cleaning cycle successfuly and without any hiccup. That feature alone, the ability to create the no-go zones is a decisive winner for me and it separates the D6 from prior versions of Neato and from its competitors. Now I do not have to worry about the robot not completing the cleaning cycle entirely on its own, I have confidence that it will get the job done. Another nice feature is that you can create multiple floor plans. That could help if you have multiple floor levels to cover. Even you can create various versions of the same floor plan, with a different numbers of rooms to cover. You have the ability to set up a schedule, on which days the cleaning should occur and the start time. There is a "gentle version" set for not hitting hard any object and the Eco version of the program to lower the sound level of the robot. Couple of other general comments. When using the vacuum robot you need to make sure that you empty the bin on a regular basis, possibly after each cleaning is completed. From time to time check the brush and clean it if needed. Neato brush can be easily removed and cleaned. How does it clean? Each subsequent version of Neato seems to be better at it than the prior one in that regard. We are happy with our floors, we did not manually vacuum them for years since we got the original Neato. Some corner areas might be missed or not entirely vacuumed but overall it does a very decent job. I can manouver very effectively between the legs of a chair, going back and forth trying not to miss an area. You could also select a "spot cleaning instead of entire floor. In summary, I am very satisfied with the improvements and the functionalities of the new D6. With the new "no-go lines" feature especially, the D6 looks like a winner to me.

Sucks (in a good way!)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third robot vacuum and by far the best one I've owned. The previous two lacked the suction that I truly wanted to see in a robot vacuum. The Neato has power that can actually come close to matching a regular upright vacuum (depending on the comparison). One of the selling points of this vacuum is, "Big Brush. Huge Difference." I agree with that 100%. One of my major complaints with other (cheaper) robot vacuums is they don't have full size vacuum heads/brushes. The first one I had had this silly little brush with three pieces that spun around. I don't really get what the point of it was supposed to be, but all it actually managed to do was push dirt and debris AWAY from the vacuum. The Neato actually has a head with spinning brushes like a regular vacuum that does what it's supposed to do...suck! Have you seen other robot vacuums that are round? Yeah, that doesn't really make sense to me since they can't get into corners. Hence the square head on this vacuum that can actually maneuver into corners. I have both tile floor and carpet in my house. I tried the Neato on both and found it effective on both surfaces. I think it had an edge on the carpet, maybe missed a few things on the tile floor. But overall it did an excellent job and navigated through my (somewhat cluttered) house very well. Bottom line is, the Neato does what it promises, and I was very satisfied with it (especially in comparison to other brands).

No excuses not to vaccum now.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Neato Auto Vacuum is an amazing piece of tech. In the box you get the Neato Botvac D6 vacuum, the power cord, a charging base, 2 different brushes, filter, boundary markers, and a cleaning tool. Set up is very easy. Connect it to charge, install the app (which thankfully supports Android and Apple), set up your account and follow the app instructions and thats it. The vacuum is great with the 3 dogs we have. If you have pets you know they are messy, shed, and one of our puppies seems to like to tear anything apart that he can. So while he is still learning its great to be able to get his messes cleaned up so easily. And since its automated things can be cleaned up without us even knowing, yet I dont know if thats good or bad. Now getting the puppies to not attack and bark at it is going to be a whole different task. Its funny at first, but gets annoying after awhile. Not the vacuums fault of course, just 2 rambunctious Corgi pups.Thankfully the elder one doesnt care as much. The vacuum is very powerful, and has great run time. No issues with it running out of juice before its done. Setting up the the floor plan and no go zones is an amazing thing that not many of these have that I am aware of. And its easy to do. We only have one floor but there is multi floor support for larger houses. Word of caution, be sure to make sure you set up no go zones where wires are, in our case we have some thin speaker wire that would have definitely got caught up in the brushes. So be aware of that. This is also a must for anyone that has health issues, or a hard time with normal vacuums. My elderly parents are getting to that point, as well as chronic back issues. So this is great for that as well. Overall this is a great way to keep your floors clean, pet fur and all, without having to worry about hurting your back, etc. Highly recommeded.

Intelligent and great little cleaner-upper!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To preface this review, I am a skeptic when it comes to using new technology for cleaning. Give me a broom, vacuum, and mop, and I'm fine. However, this little "Botvac" has begun to open my mind a little. My first thoughts before using this item was that it was going to fall down the stairs in my home (I live in a second floor apartment with stairs leading down to go out) or that it would get stuck under the bed and make it a pain to remove. Also, I was skeptical about how much it would actually vacuum - I've had a Dyson for a few years now. I couldn't be more impressed with this thing. After the initial set-up, connecting it to Wi-Fi, and downloading and linking the vacuum to the app on my smartphone, this little thing "mapped" out my entire apartment by roaming around. It has sensors on it, which allow it to "sense" stairs and stop itself from falling down. It also does a great job getting itself out of a jam, such as when cleaning under tables and bumping into chairs. Occasionally, it has become stuck under my dresser, but there is a feature on the app where you set limits for the Botvac on where not to go. Of course, it won't get absolutely everything in corners or underneath furniture, but these definitely saves me time on vacuuming or just needing a quick clean. Great product!

Very smart but can still get stuck
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup. Perform well. Smarter than Roomba random algorithm. Initial learning of floor plan needs the user to watch over and definitely requires the use of the magnetic strip. Once the floor plan is learned, you can just draw no-go line on the map to block area you don't want the robot to go and this work well. One major flaw is the raised round laser cover, it will think it can fit under cabinet but the raise round laser cover will cause the robot to be stuck under the cabinet. Because of this, magnetic strip must be used during initial run and later use the app's no-go line to prevent the robot from getting stuck. It will be better if the app allow the user to direct the robot to vacuum a specific point or area.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Neato Botvac D6 is worth every penny!! It does an outstanding job picking up cat hair & dirt. I would definitely recommend this product & the best part of owning a Neato robot is the fantastic customer service team they have. If you do run into a problem the Neato customer service team (William, Dermot & Cairan) are there to solve your issue. Truly they go above & beyond to resolve your issue, I actually do not recall any customer service that I have ever used anywhere that has been so understanding & accommodating as the Neato team was!!! Support wasn't helpful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really really really want to give this 5 stars, but I can't because it doesn't work properly with my network, making this smart vacuum pretty dumb. Like one of the other reviewers, I have a Linksys Velop network, but unlike his case, support has not been helpful in getting it to work properly. When it works, it cleans so well, but when it doesn't connect to my network, its a big paperweight. I've reached out to support twice - the chat was unhelpful as the guy wanted me to split my mesh network in two, and the email support hasn't replied after a week of sending in the request. Frustrating - because if this could be fixed like the other reviewer's was, I would EASILY give this product 5 stars.

Great Robot Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally got this as a Christmas gift yesterday. I downloaded the app and did the programming process. I live out in the “country” so we have satellite internet at home, not sure if that’s what was causing the WiFi set up to be a long annoying process but once it was done everything else was easy. So far after one run through our house I can say I LOVE THIS PRODUCT but like I said it’s been one day. It’s so easy to use, it did bump into a few things here and there but after that first time in that area it would stop before hitting it again. It collected dirt that I never knew was there. I am giving it a 5 star again it’s been Day 1 with this product and it has blown me away. We shall see how this product does after a few months.

fragile. falls apart after a year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this last year around Christmas time when it was on sale. This vacuum was great until it was not. i ran it every day, cleaning the sensors and brushes weekly. now it gets stuck in every impossible way you can think of. it gets stuck in open corners, tries to back up onto chair legs. it wasn't long after that the wheels started making a clicking grinding sound and i needed to replace both wheel assemblies. maybe a bad firmware update? wasn't worth the money for the frustrations and annoyances it caused. i'll replace the wheels and see what happens but buyer be warned. these are fragile, should be made better, and should be easily repairable or be self aware when in need of repair.

My father is 70 yrs old and does not know how to do this. And I am in Ohio while my father lives in Florida. Absolutely horrible customer service and they do not stand by their product.
