Good sound, ok battery, pretty good running buds
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a love hate relationship with jaybirds. This was my 3rd pair, from the bluebuds, X2s, this and also the Vistas. I’m a runner, biker and avid outdoors person. I need my buds to be sturdy, reliable, built to withstand sweat, rain, sun and daily use. The earlier jaybirds were pretty good for about a year or so and then 1 side would die. I wanted to get one dedicated for just my daily 4 a.m. runs, usually for about 1.5 to 2 hours per 6 days a week. The battery is touted to be good for 6 hours on 1 charge. I find that it’s less than advertised on volume of 60-70%. I keep the volume reasonable lower on these so I get pass through noise for sections of road running so early in the morning. Yet, on a full charge, I will only manage about 2-3 runs out of these before needing to recharge. This may be enough for a marathon but forget an ultra. On the up side, it’s fast charging. I was able to get about 10% battery after 15 minutes charging. The sound is also pretty good with these too, which is a selling point for jaybirds overall. The eartips provide an adequate and reasonably comfortable fit. Though it only allows you to wear these using the under ear position, meaning— the wires will dangle on the back and will not allow you to tuck this behind the ear. Two main cons, aside from those already mentioned, are the proprietary charging cable and spotty Bluetooth. You are out of luck if you happen to lose them the charging chord. Also, once and a while connection will drop, which I notice would happen constantly and very reliably on the same sections of my running route. I wonder if something is interfering with the signal? I don’t know why but it bugs the heck out of me that I would reroute often avoiding these areas. Not a deal breaker considering how cheap these are priced now. For what you get, it’s a pretty good deal. Also, I’ve ran with these in the snow and rain, so far they’ve kept up well and still reliably work well for my purposes. If you’re looking for good running and active buds, these are pretty good for the price.

Approrpriate for physical actitivity
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the earphones for a week, and they have been pretty useful for my needs. The positives about the earphones are that it has good sound, above-average battery life and the clearance price offered by Best buy is amazing. The mic feature is also good. The downsides are the absence of a clip, discomfort while using the earphones for a prolonged duration. And to add, I don't think the original price of 99$ is appropriate for this product. I am not sure if this is my case, but I am not able to connect the earphones to more than one device.

Must Buy Headphones
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these wireless headphones. I have tried numerous types of earbud type headphones in the past that never stay in my ears or the quality of sound was not what I expected. These are excellent in both cases. They meet and exceed my expectations in comfort and sound plus ease of use. I purchased a pair for my daughter in law also and she loves how they stay in place when she jogs. Thank you for these excellent headphones!!!

Good sound for $ - 1 bad flaw
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price these earbuds have extremely good sound not too pitchy good bass, I have very small ear canals I guess and the stay in my ears better than my beats. The one flaw I have found is I do not like the way it charges, it has a piece that you've got to snap in in order to charge it it's not a regular micro charge port and there has been a couple times that I couldn't find the charge piece in there for it renders the buds non-usable if they're out of battery so overall good sound for the money but make sure you don't lose that charge piece of snaps in

Great earbuds, but have some problems
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The earbuds sound great and come with three different ear tips that fit into your ear, and Jaybird even made an app to configure the earbuds more to your liking. The only problems I have are that the battery life is a little low, and that the neck adjuster comes off of the cord of the earbuds very easily.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is good goes really tight into my ear And that's probably the silicone that makes it soundproof, i personally don't like too much base that loud in my ear but for people who love good quality I would say go for it but it is my backup pair.

Good earphones for beginners
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This particular set of wireless earphones are decent in that you download the app the equalize sound to your liking. The dynamic sound bolstered by the earbuds are good. Only critical of the fact the earphones slide off your personel sometimes if you only have one earbud in.

Not the pro but...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't mind with very minimal compromises when comparing these to the Tarah Pros, you will be happy with these. At the time of writing this review, the pros are $60 more than these. Sound quality is very nice for being in ear buds made for running and sports. I can honestly say that the fit on these are very comfortable for long term use. The overall form factor on these are minimal, the controls are simple. Battery life is sufficient enough and I love the quick 10 minute charge giving an hour's worth of juice. Being able to connect these to 2 devices and not having to sync each time is a time saver for me. I love being able to switch from my phone to tablet very easily. My dislikes are with the application itself. I prefer not to get lost or to look at a whole bunch of advertisement for their other products when simply trying to change the EQ options. There is a noticeable difference when adjusting the EQ settings. I recommend you explore and modify to your own liking.

Good in-ear headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jaybird Tarah headphones are good. They are light, have IPX7 rating which means they are completely water/sweat resistant and sound pretty well. The battery life is good (approx. 5 to 6 hours) and they support quick charging so if you want to go for that last minute run, you will need to charge them for just about 5 minutes. They come with a charging cradle and special charging cable (unlike other wireless headphones that I have had so far where the charging was done using a Micro-USB cable). I think this is to achieve IPX7 rating but this definitely is annoying as I have to always carry around one more cable and cradle. I like the Jaybird app and how you can apply different equalizer settings based on the mood, genre etc. So far, the connectivity range has also been pretty good. Overall, I think they are pretty good in-ear headphones below $100 range. The fitness people will really like them but they are good for day-to-day use as well.

Bad quality of the cable
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headphones worked well, 2 months later, one of them is dead and does not play music. The cable under the microphone is broken, so to listen to music on both, you must press the cable in one direction. I only use them for the gym, so they are not used too much. Bad cable quality. Note: I tried to write a review the 27 of September, but it was not registered in the system. Also the bluetooth connection was very frustrating, dropped every minute, and sometimes it disconected suddenly, even with the battery at 100%.

Solid Performer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 3rd pair of Jaybirds over the last few years. My first pair were the original Jaybird BlueBuds X, the X3s and now the Tarah. As the headphone jack starts to become a thing of the past, it’s nice to see some quality wireless headphones at a more affordable price point. The design on the Tarahs is pretty typical for the Jaybird line. They look similar to the X4, albeit clearly a lower cost option. Thankfully, they kept they were able to maintain the IPX7 waterproofing – so no need to worry about sweat, splashes or even brief total submersion. With 6 hours of play time, the Tarah is no slouch. I’m not a huge fan of the proprietary charging cable, unfortunately also different from the X3, X4, or even the Tarah Pro. All that being said, I actually like the design on this charger over the X3/X4. Overall, not a bad set of wireless earbuds for the price, the sound is acceptable, the mobile app is great for managing customizable sound profiles and unlike previous generations, I also find the included silicone ear tips really comfortable. My only complaint seems to be a returning issue I also experienced with the X3’s. They seem to reconnect intermittently causing an interruption in audio. I was really hoping this issue would be resolved with the Tarah. That issue aside, a solid setup and a reasonably priced set of quality earbuds.

Perfect sound, tricky fit.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 4 different brands of Bluetooth headsets and a couple of wired ones. I must say the Jaybird Tarah version has become my favorite despite one thing I don’t like about it. Sound: this has better sound quality than the pricy brand name I have. Clear highs and deep lows for a nice full range sounds. Accessories: the charging dock is proprietary so a regular usb charger won’t do. The App: i love the ability to adjust the sound settings to any presets or just create my own. Jaybird has done a great job with the app. It’s highly versatile and well designed. Now to the one thing I don’t like: it comes with three different size buds but the only thing is different in size is the outside piece while inner piece is almos the same size on all. Still they do a great job at keeping the headsets in place. It’s not an issue significant enough to remove a star.

Preferred These Over Beats
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used and compared this product along with the latest/top model Beats wireless in ear headphones and I could not tell much, if any, difference in the sound quality. Used both of them for walking/jogging, lifting weights, mountain biking and around the house listening. The Beats may have had slightly more bass but the overall sound quality and clarity of the Tarah Jaybird met my needs. The cord joining the Beats earbuds is rounded so it rarely clings or sticks to your neck when you turn your head to the side. In contrast, the Jaybird cord is flat so there have been times when it stuck to my neck when I turned my head and there was a slight tug of the cord against my ear. In ear comfort of each brand was essentially the same. The ears "wings" of the Tarah, which goes into the outer rim of your ear, works in keeping the earbuds securely in place but you have to get used to the feeling. I was drawn to this Tarah brand/model because it is IPX7 waterproof so I can use it in the rain, while canoeing/kayaking, etc. without worry. The Beats were only sweat proof, I believe. I use my headphones alot doing outdoor activities so the wireless/cord ear phones were my preference over using truly wireless earbuds that could get lost easily. There is an included, small clip at the base of the cord of the Tarah that can attach to your shirt/jacket collar for added security. So far, my headphones have never become disconnected from my ears nor fallen off during ACTIVE use. Phone calls work and sound well with both the Tarah and Beats. Both were easy to pair to my iPhone using blue tooth. Each time you turn on the Tarah, it tells you how much battery level you have. I believe the Beats held a longer charge for longer playing time than the Tarah, but the use time of the Tarah suits my needs and I just charge it if/when I need to. The Tarah has a slightly different/non traditional USB charger that serves as a cradle that you place the volume control into. I have not had any issues with it. In contrast, the Beats used a standard micro USB cable. If you lose/damage the charger for the Tarah, it would be harder to replace than the charger for the Beats. Beats gives you a carrying case/bag for the headphones. The Tarah does not come with either. Audio controls on the Beats are controlled on the base of the ear bud itself. In contrast, the audio controls of the Tarah are controlled on the short panel on the wire about two inches down from the ear bud. I was initially concerned that the slight weight/balance the panel would be distracting but I got use to it. Audio controls for each brand were easy to use & straight forward. I bought this new product/color option on a clearance price which was roughly half the price of the Beats product, which I ultimately returned.

Solid Performance for the Price!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently lost my trusty old Jaybird X2s (after something like 5 years of consistently good performance) and needed a replacement set ASAP BUT, I wasn't ready to commit to true wireless and I didn't want to spend a lot of money at this point in time. Enter the Jaybird Tarah buds! Knowing that Jaybird makes a quality product, made it easy to take a chance on these buds (especially because they're selling for $50). The Tarahs came nicely packaged like the the X2s did and they were easy to get set up and running. So far so good! They sound good, they fit well, they charge quick, the charge lasts for a long time, and again, they were only $50 :-) I haven't spent much time with the Jaybird app - it's really just an equalizer setting and frankly, the buds sound good out of the box, so it generally doesn't occur to me to run the app and tweak the sound though when I have done it, I've gotten decent results.

Everything You Need in a Workout Headphone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not an audiophile; I have a pair or nice noise canceling headphones for travel, and looking for a solid set of wireless earbuds for workouts. I tried the jump to some high end "true wireless" earbuds and while the sound quality is better, I was in a constant state of anxiety while running with them. As sweat built up they always needed adjusting, and it was almost impossible to scroll through music without breaking stride. Low and behold after a year, trying to adjust on a bike ride one fell out and I now have a high end one-ear earbud. I just got back from my first run with the Tarah's in 80+ degree weather and so glad I made the switch back to earbuds with an external controller. The sound is just fine right out of the box, (I haven't messed with EQ yet), the earbuds are soft and extremely comfortable, and most importantly they stayed completely put in my ear. For 1/4 of the price of my "active" wireless earbuds. If you're looking for a no frills tool for the job, you absolutely cannot go wrong with these.
