They were easily assembled and turned on. The remote needs to be pointed at the base in order for it to work. On setting 5 out of 10 it is reasonably quiet. I will be interested to see how frequently I will need to replace the filters as they are not inexpensive.

Great Purifier/Fan for Home Office

I keep it on level 8 out of 10 and it keeps a home office/bedroom, approx 100 sq feet, cool all day. The air quality has also improved greatly for someone who lives in a metropolitan area with severe allergies. Only issue is syncing the unit to the app but not a big deal at this time.

I am noticing a major difference in the room air where the air purifier is located. Once I walk out the room, I can smell the difference. Looking forward to how this goes in the long run!

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Cool features a HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. The second layer in the filter contains activated carbon to capture household odors and volatile organic compounds like paint fumes. The machine also features a sleep timer, oscillation and 10 air speed settings.
Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

It doesn't have any fancy programming like I don't know being able to connect to an app. You can get a less expensive product that can do a lot more. You are getting a glorified fan. It's made from cheap plastic.

It's definitely worth noting that these machines will differ from our Dyson Pure Cool Link™ and our most recent purifier offerings which do offer connectivity with the Dyson Link app. Our app does offer additional functionality, along with the ability to control your machine remotely, without the included remote control. That said, Dyson Pure Cool™ is a great option for those who prefer a more simple design or do not prefer to have the added app functionality – but would still prefer a Dyson engineered purifier, along with the powerful and smooth air provided by our Air Multiplier™ technology. It's also worth noting Dyson Pure Cool™ will offer the same great performance, and purification provided by our Dyson Pure Cool Link™ models. While we definitely wouldn't expect our owners to be rough with their purifiers, you can also rest assured that Dyson machines are built to stand the test of time. I grabbed this one because it a few hundred cheaper than the latest model, and really I didn't need the app access that came with the more expensive version

A little noisy but cool

We purchased the Dyson. It did a nice job cooling the room BUT it was too nosy. One thing we didn't need was a noisy fan while trying to sleep. So I'd recommend it if you're not putting it in a bedroom.

The noise level on this machine, in the maximum airflow speed of 10, is 62 dBa. You will notice significantly less noise, on the lower airflow speeds which may be better suited for night-time use.
