Excellent Everyday Appliance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a previous model that did not have the automatic dirt disposal. This vacuum can doo the whole house with no trouble and does a very good job. Take the time to make mapping runs first and them setting up rooms and favorite schedules is very easy.

Pretty darn good, with few exceptions
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Living with my new Roomba for a month and 3 days, it's time for a review. Does great on hard surfaces, and picks up all the dog hair your furry family members will shed. Haven't tested any spots on my Ruggables sectional carpet with my Dyson to see if there is much left behind though. No other carpeted surfaces to test out, so hard saying how well it does for higher pile carpet. I did have an issue the other evening while it was heading back home to dock in an adjacent room that was fairly well lit, but the office where the dock is, didn't have a light turned on. In my opinion the room had enough residual light to be able to find its way back to the docking station...yet, it did not. It roamed around drunkingly, trying to find its way, but not ever really coming close. I had to pause what we were streaming, turn on the light, and yet it still didn't find its way. It went directly to the right of the dock, confused still, and decided to roam around for another 2 mins until I manually hit the home button on the unit itself. There should be a sort of homing beacon on the dock to communicate with the unit. 8/10

i7+ Compared to s9+
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an i7+ that didn't hold up. Replaced it with the s9+. It took forever to get a map of the house going on the s9+ and because I couldn't get all the cords out of the way it hung up everytime on my bed control cords. I ended up having to block off a bizarre area on the map that doesn't exist. Now that I have a map and can block areas from cleaning, it's all good. Otherwise, this is a dream, I just hope it holds up better. I think the reason I don't have to clean balled up hair from the wheel, the bars, and the arm all the time is it has enough suction to actually sweep this up compared to the I7+. The basket design is much better: easier to access, easier to clean and the filter doesn't clog as quickly. It cleans longer between charges. I would recommend this one over the i7+. Now if the filter replacements were reasonably priced I'd be ecstatic.

Very good vacuum for mid sized houses
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a 2 story house with about 5000 sq ft of vacuum-able space. The downstairs is about 3400 sq ft and the upstairs is 1600 sq ft. It struggled to map the downstairs, however, it did not have any trouble with the upstairs at all. So if you have a mid sized house in the 2500 sq ft range, then this is a very good robot vacuum for you. It cleans real well such that I have not had to deep vacuum since I bought this!

This is great with a few quirks
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To begin with this is a great sweeper. I like the home base having the bin as it saves on having to clean it after runs. It works well, but dont expect it replace a good cleaning by a hand held. I use this daily mainly for dog hair and general dust. It handles them very well. I have the Google next max and tell it to clean every morning while I go upstairs to do my workouts. The map learning does work decently well, but it seems to just love some rooms over others and takes many many training runs for it to learn the rooms. So the cons are that it does not do well around a table and chairs it constantly got stuck. I also have a medium pile carpet in one of my rooms that this thing just cannot handle. So I had to block this room off with barriers to not allow it in that room to clean. This also requires a good amount of light to work as its sensor is light based, which may be a draw back for some as you cant have it run at night unless the rooms are well lit. After all is said and done I'd still buy this again, because I love to just say "hey google, clean mud room" and off it goes.

Best Roomba yet
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding unit. We have had 2 other Roomba’s and this one just the best job by way. Easy to use. Easy to map the house, easy to create exclusion zones to keep it out of areas you want it in, and it empties itself.

Robot works great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this vacuum robot to get the little stuff I drop, cat hair and other stuff. It works great on carpet and hardwood. I learned to pick up the little stuff that could get caught in the vacuum when it picked up a cat toy. It does not bother the cat dishes, but it gets her toys. I called iRobot customer support because it started making noises after it got stuck with a cat toy. They listened to the operation of the robot on the phone and determined the cause of the noise. They sent replacement parts in a few days. The noise is gone now. Run it in training mode until it figures out your rooms. It gets caught while training and sends messages in the app. This works great as it helps me know there is a problem so I can fix it quickly. If I can't get to it when stuck, it shuts down so it doesn't use up all its battery. Now it runs with Alexa as I wanted when I purchased it. Its a pricey setup, but it works the way I hoped it would. Very happy with the purchase.

I would give it 6 stars.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an adopted dog that sheds really really bad. The hair mess requires daily sweeping. After 3 months my wife was done. I had to find a solution. I’m vacuuming as I write this review! No the roomba s9+ is. I’ve have had this unit for 4 months now. I absolutely love it. My entire house is hard floors with some area rugs. I was afraid the dog hair and different surfaces would be too much for a roomba. Not at all. When it gets full it goes back to the charging/emptying station empties itself and goes back to work. Be patient while it maps out your house. It took several hours, and I actually thought it had lost its mind while mapping my house. I had it map the house without running the vac to save battery usage. The little edger brush found so much dirt and hair under trim and appliances. I was disgusted! I have to change the bag and I blow out the filter in the vac about every other month. If you have a shedding dog, or just like a clean house, buy one now!!!!!

It beats my 980 hands down!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 980 that met it’s untimely death last year about the same the i7 came out. I thought that was the vacuum of my dreams because it emptied itself. Well I never got around to purchasing that one and then the S9 came out. I couldn’t resist any longer! I have not been disappointed! The only advantage the 980 had was it handled throw rugs better. The S9 has superior suction so it doesn’t manage those well. I can forgive that trait because it does a fabulous job on pet hair! I have a Maine Coon cat with very long hair and another cat with silky fine hair. It gets up every last hair, litter and more! Unlike the 980, due to the improved suction you do have to be more careful with shoelaces, power cords, etc. However, I can handle a little more caution for completely clean carpet, tile and wood floors!! It is on the pricey side, but with the new mapping technology once it maps your home you can program what rooms you want cleaned. No longer is the choice all or nothing!!

Excellent Machines
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We now have two roomba S9+s. We have one on the main floor paired with a Braava M6 and another on the second floor. The main floor is hardwood floors with some tile. The second floor is primarily carpet. The S9 is excellent on all surfaces. It is very easy to set up and maintain. The Braava M6 mop does an superb job on both the hardwood and tile floors. We also have a few persian carpets on the first floor. The S9 is great on them. We love that you can create very precise schedules and cover your whole house multiple times a day.

This thing is a beast!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried several other robot vacuums first, before deciding to pull the trigger on this one. I was put off by the price, but if you can swing it, it's worth every penny. It cleans very well, especially the pet hair. It's relatively quiet, and cleans each room in a very methodical precise way. Also, not having to empty the bin after each cleaning is a huge benefit, especially if you've used robot vacuums without this feature. The only thing that I'd ask to improve in a future model would be the battery life. It's just fair. For example, it can't clean my living room and one bedroom on one charge...it'll have to stop at some point during that "job" to recharge for a bit. It does pick up where it left off, so I guess it's not a deal breaker. For the price though, I'd expect a better battery life.

So this is what life in the 21st century is!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty amazing machine once it gets its act together. You do have to be *really* patient for the first week or so, as it takes several passes of several hours each for the robot to learn the full contours of your home. It makes lots of mistakes and assumptions in the process. But watching it learn, pace by pace, is incredibly interesting. It is noisier than we expected, pretty much the same noise level as a regular standup vacuum. The charging/emptying base is incredibly valuable. Overall, 5 stars and quite a sight to see the first time you let it loose. This is what the Jestsons had in mind!

Roomba
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device causes more work than just vacuuming the room manually. It’s for occasional use only, particularly when you’re not home. It’s way to loud for far to long. Also, you must ensure nothing is on the floor that could get sucked up and break the machine.

Thankful for our IRobot
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had our IRobot for just over 3 months now. We run it daily, every morning as our day is starting. It works amazing and has been a huge help in keeping the dust down and just the house cleaner overall. We have changed the bag out each month, but probably could have gone longer. It does need “help” sometimes, with two kids, two dogs and a cat, it has ran over and tried to vacuum up Nerf Bullets and we have to go get them out, or tried to vacuum up the kids cords or dog toys left out, he tries to keep going, but if his wheels are stuck he will turn off. We have Alexa and it has been great to be able to tell Alexa to have M-O vacuum the kitchen. The app works great and gives suggested cleaning zones and lets you set a schedule.

Best one yet
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this S9+ to replace my Roomba 980. I have been happy with it so far. I did have one issue with it...and after calling iRobot TWICE...and two techs later...they couldnt solve my mapping problem. I googled the issue I was having...and a poster gave a suggestion that worked. iRobot tech support used to be very good...but the two I spoke with this month..were literally morons. They were supposed to elevate my call to a senior support specialist..but it could take up to 48 hrs. The specialist NEVER called! The robot is excellent...the support staff on that one day in March 2023 was horrible. I knew more about the system than THEY did!
