This robot vacuum works great. It does have trouble with thick shag rugs. I had to setup “no clean” zones for it to avoid the rugs. The mapping feature and iPhone app are great. Super easy to tell it what rooms to clean and when to clean them.

Should have got one a long time ago! Thing is a beast! The ONLY complaint I have is when it’s done and cleans out itself, it’s LOUD! But only for a few seconds.

After a short battle woth curtains and one sacrificed phone charging cable we learned the rules. Does a great job on our 2nd floor…90% carpeted floor and it handles it very well. BTW - those perfectly parallel vacuum lines are very satisfying!

This is a nice vacuum and seems to be very smart with lots of sensors. The main complaint is how loud this vacuum gets. Also, this vacuum was like a game in the morning when you are trying to find it and move it back to the docking station. Felt like it was always getting stuck or shutting down because of an error. The vacuum would get stuck on the bathroom rug. I went back to using the iRobot 7+ and it seems to function better then the 9. So far I am having less issues with the cheaper one. My home is mostly hardwood floors with rugs. The self empty bin is a must. Both vacuums are nice but I would recommend the 7+ over the 9+

Almost perfect. It did a good job of mapping my 2300 sq ft house. I have a German Shepherd, and FINALLY, I could walk around barefoot. There are only two drawbacks, really. It's really loud - louder than the Roomba 880 I was replacing. That's not a deal-breaker. But the reason I returned it - the green rollers were torn up within two weeks, and they are $30 to replace! Hair gets wrapped around them, and cut a permanent notch in the fins on the dark green roller. The light green roller will get all its shorter fins stripped away the first time the Roomba finds a quarter or similar object under the bed. If iRobot will fix this roller problem, I will immediately buy the next model.

Vacuum works and operates well. However, I have to question it's durability. This is our 2nd S9+, the first we had to return and have replaced after a week. It just stopped working and we couldn't get it to start.

It is a great vacuum, the one that I use for the main floor of my house. And I love that it self empties so I do not have to empty it halfway thru its run. The only thing is it is loud on the default setting, so I just run it when it will not bother my family.

I recently purchase this product. I had the I3 but wanted to upgrade to the Is-9. I’ve used it twice the first run went well unfortunately the second and 3rd run and had 3 error messages the second time I set it off to clean the house. I was able to map the floors which is a good start. Hope to get the problems resolved. I’m going to watch some videos and hope to be able to turn this around. It would be nice if you could rent this product before making true investment on this expensive robot. Here one of the 3 error messages I received: Error thirty-one (31) means your s Series Roomba® robot is experiencing an internal communication error. I’m hoping this will turn around before my warrenty period ends.

The Roomba s9+ is a beast!

I purchased my s9 as an upgrade from my old i7. What a difference! Significantly more suction power and the edge cleaner brush and squared off nose makes for a much more thorough cleaning session. Once you create your map in the app this truly becomes set it and forget it. I've programmed the cleaning cycle to begin right when my alarm goes off in the morning and have it clean the rooms in an order that doesn't impede my morning routine so we're not tripping over each other as I get ready for the day. When I am ready to sit down and get to work the s9 is already done and back in its dock charging with my whole house cleaned. As an added bonus, because of the quality of the cleaning, I don't need to dust as frequently as before. Love this product.

    Best robo vac yet

I have had irobot and LG robot vacs over last 3 years and this vac has improved in every area. More suction, better vac patterns, no more special towers or magnetic tape to keep robot away from specific area and the automatic emptying of the dust is a nice feature. I have not had to empty yet but bag has a cardboard closure that keeps dust in bag when you take it out of machine It also maps entire floor and allows you to divide rooms and name them so you can have vac only clean specific rooms that you want. I also got the mop that works together with this vac to mop after vacuuming if I want. Huge improvement over previous vac. Is very expensive but worth it to me. I have not had to run a vac in 3 years now.

I have owned a roomba for over 6 years. While my previous model was nifty, it was extremely inefficient and just bounced around all over the place. The s9 rocks though! The mapping is incredibly easy and accurate! I have a husky, and we run this thing daily. It does a great job. I do recommend doing map only runs a time or two to let it learn your home before running cleaning cycles. The price tag is high, but you are getting great quality here. The only thing I think they could improve is the noise level. The unit is loud. Still worth it to me though.

This is the best vacuum that I have had. I have a dog that sheds terribly, and this vacuum saved our relationship lol because I could knit a coat with the amount of shedding he did. Running this vac made a tremendous difference. It is loud but it doesn’t bother me personally. Because often times when I’m running it. I’m not in the same room. The only issue is the brush in the corner does get caught but hopefully in the coming years they’ll come up with a solution for that problem. I love it.

Wow, this thing has helped me out a LOT by automating my daily vacuuming chores since I got a dog. She sheds massively, and even though this place has two Dysons (one per floor), I legitimately couldn't keep up with my dog quilting the floors (and frankly any flat surface) with dander and hair. Enter the Roomba: yes, it's kind of stupid, yes its algorithm learns a house via perimeter mapping and obstacle detection by literally colliding with things (versus using LiDAR / lasers), but alas. The Roomba keeps my place tidy and requires minimal intervention: maybe once every two days I have to rescue it from sucking up the corner of sheets drying on the rack or a rogue sock I forgot to pickup before starting the clean cycle. Would recommend highly.

iRobot is the best of those robot vacuums, and the Rooba never cease to surprise me with updates: bought a 880 back in 2014, then a I7 in 2021 and now a S9 just for the second floor with carpet. And all 3 rumbas are still running! Wow! The 880 cleans the garage and the I7 the first floor. Don't have to manually vacuum the house for years now. Most impressive: I have a Golden Retriever, and Rooba takes care of it!

It was fantastic, 5 out of 5 stars for the first few weeks. The s9+ ran on schedule and I noticed that my house was overall cleaner than when I manually vacuum. I made some furniture changes however and noticed that the s9+ started having difficulty cleaning certain areas or completely ignoring areas where furniture used to exist but no longer does. (A training run was required to fix this) I then found a better place for the base and the s9+ had difficulty returning home, even after multiple training runs. I eventually had to delete the map and run multiple training runs again to get the s9+ to find its base consistently. For this reason, I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. If you live in a very static environment, then it does a great job. If you have clutter or move furniture it will skip areas based on previous runs or struggle to find its base.

We have lots of foot & paw traffic. Everyone is too busy to vacuum. Decided to try the iRoomba to help make life easier. Let me tell you, LOVE this vacuum. Simple setup. Easy to use. iRobot maps your house so you can tell it which area or areas to clean. You can actually see your carpet “fluff” up as it’s vacuuming. You can see the difference! I can schedule run times, tell it which room, rooms, or everywhere to clean. After it’s done, you can have the iMop m-6 start immediately after. I’m in love with both products. App is very easy to use. Can’t rave about these items enough! Highly recommend purchasing.

Bought an i7+ and reviewed it earlier. It's great on hard floors and rugs. Exception is pet hair on rugs. Picks up a lot of hair but leaves hair tufts all over the rugs. Returned it and upgraded it to the i9+. Great machine - more power and 2 power settings. Even at the lower setting, it outperforms the i7 on pet hair on rugs. I have tile floors in kitchen and bath. Rest of house has rugs. Never leaves more than 1 or 2 tufts, mostly none. Mapping is excellent. Easy to set up. Love the 'don't go' zones. Never gets stuck. Easily climbs up on throw rugs. Got pet hair and rugs? This is your machine.

Love this vacuum! I bought this for my birthday in November for full price, since NOW (at the time of this review) it’s going for about $400 less than what I payed for. Little jealous of the new price, but I’m actually ok with it since it’s a Great product! Suction, this one of the most powerful robot vacuums out there. As a great example I own a cordless Dyson V11 to vacuum our carpets but I ran the roomba on high power on the carpet and then followed up with the Dyson. I was amazed how Dyson didn’t pick up much after that, and this Dyson deep cleans better than most uprights. (Sorry if I’m going off topic much) Back on the Roomba, after 2-3 runs of whole house cleaning it will learn your house so you can label the rooms so you can then clean each independently or in groups of your choice. Sometimes Roomba acts odd, confused sometimes that may annoy you but it’s only small occasions. BIG MYTH BUSTER the Roomba works just fine even in total darkness (once it learns the house) it even can navigate to selected room in darkness. The clean base really cleans up the robot dust bin really well, it even cleans the dust in the vacuum filter very good. ONE BIG KEY thing to note if you have your Roomba with the side brush for your hard floors, BE SURE TO UNTANGLE IT WHEN IT GOES BACK TO THE DOCK. What I mean is that the Roomba for some reason tangles up the side brush when it docks and can really wear out the side brush really quickly. If you have only carpets then I suggest to just take off the side brush entirely. It is slightly noisy on hard floors but not too loud in my opinion. Definitely not quiet enough to watch TV or call in the same room, but enough that you can easily talk to someone while it’s running. Well this has been a long review thank you for taking sticking around this long, it’s a great product. Little pricey but it’s the best robot vacuum I’ve used to date.
