Customers are saying

Customers regard the Roomba s9+ as a self-emptying robot vacuum that is easy to use and great at cleaning pet hair. It has powerful suction and can be scheduled to clean. However, some customers find it to be loud, prone to getting stuck, and expensive.

I got an S9 and an I3 about a year ago, the I3 does the upstairs and works perfectly. The S9 does the downstairs and has never completed a job. Ive had to replace the wheel modules, the extractors, and the thing only runs 10 mins before it throws another error and i just give up and use my push vacuum until i give it another try a month later. iRobot won’t do anything to help, a support rep told me i should just go buy another one… Its $1000, youd think it would actually work or the company would properly support it.

This is not just your average disgruntled customer review. The manufacturers support for this item is dismal and geek squad won't do anything until it ends. I had this vacuum working for two week until it was no longer able to return to base and could not vacuum longer than 20 min and was getting worse. I am stuck with this vacuum until robot can send a replacement and they really have no idea when the replacements are coming. they won't admit it but this problem is a big software problem with most of their s9+ vacuums. so unless you want to spend 1000 and be stuck with a broken vacuum do not buy this product 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    Expensive and useless

The robot is pretty dumb actually, it bumps into furniture quite hard and causes wear and scratches espacially when it does some weird reverse move. If you care about your furniture be aware. It is supposed to have many sensors but the only one it really uses is the bumper, it is an expensive dumb useless robot. I have been patient and let it map the house but no improvement. I replaced it with another unit and the exact same thing. You have to prepare the house and babysit the whole time, it is not worth it. Save you time and money.

First day right out of the box, it would only backup and turn like it was bumping into something. Kept getting a bumper error.

We had an i7+ that had an issue with the roller assembly. We’d only had it three weeks. Not off to a good start with iRobot. We returned it but didn’t want to wait two weeks for a new one so we upgraded to the s9+ because it was in stock. It lasted 3 minutes before it failed. It keeps going on and off the charging base but won’t dock or take a charge. This one is going back too. For $1100 dollars, this thing is riddled with flaws. I love the idea of a robot vacuum, and I’m going to give iRobot one more try before switching to a different brand.

    Terrible Product

I have been plagued with problems since day 1. The robot routinely gets "stuck" in the middle of rooms for no reason. There are constant errors. Technical support is not helpful and just asks you to reboot over and over or repeat the same troubleshooting steps without identifying the root of the issue. They have replaced the robot twice over the last year but the issues always come back again after some use. I have come to believe that the problems are not with my robot but instead a serious quality issue with iRobot. With the high cost of this robot, I expect a much more reliable product. I strongly recommend against purchasing this product.

Purchased As New Received Open Box

I purchased this item as brand new. I thought that it was new when I received the item. It started to have issues recently, so I called the manufacturer to see if it could be fixed. That is when I found out that someone else had already contacted them about this exact robot. That person was supposed to return the robot to iRobot. They instead returned it to BestBuy and I assume got their money back. Bestbuy in turn resold it to me. Disappointed since I haven’t had this issue with Best Buy before. Now I will have the robot replaced by the manufacturer but it will be a refurbished one. I paid full price for a brand new product, unfortunately Best Buy didn’t deliver on that promise.

It’s fine. The battery only last a year which seems to be a common issue. I don’t think it’s worth $1000.

    If you have carpet, RUN!

I bought this and returned it within a week. I was never able to get it to run a full cycle in any of my rooms with carpet. Unless your house is 100% hardwood with no rugs or transitions, buy a different model. This roomba does not have enough clearance and would bottom out on the carpet. Additionally, the side brush was trash after a single use. Bad redesign that looks like it was rushed to market. Customer support was no help. Not worth the money.

The Roomba is a great, but the price is not worth the work it does. Roomba does a very soft cleaning which is not what my household needs at the moment.

After spending 35 minutes waiting on hold and another 30 speaking with support I was told that my issue with the $1000 s9 Roomba can not be solved because 'our products are not designed to work on carpet' However on multiple places on the irobot website I see them tout their carpet cleaning ability. Utter garbage and $1000 wasted! Do yourself a favor and read the 1000's of negative comments on their FB page
