Customers are saying

Customers regard the Roomba s9+ as a self-emptying robot vacuum that is easy to use and great at cleaning pet hair. It has powerful suction and can be scheduled to clean. However, some customers find it to be loud, prone to getting stuck, and expensive.

Cool technology that just doesn't work.

This thing is a total piece of crap. It will work wonders for the first month or two. Then you'll notice it will slowly start to get "confused" in your house. You'll clean the sensors thinking that might fix it. You'll factory reset it. You will make sure the map is perfect of your house. Slowly this machine will unlearn everything you've taught it. I just had to pause mine for an hour to take a conference call. When I hung up and decided to send my robot "home" it got lost in my office spinning in circles. The robot's spinning arm thing is constantly shedding. You will eventually have a nub with no attachments that doesn't do anything to pick up dirt. The rollers attached underneath will wear out and replacements will very quickly be rubbed raw. My rollers are too smooth to agitate any dirt out of my rugs. Tech support for this company is non-existent. Their only solutions are to factory reset the machine, make it forget the maps it has spent time learning, and if that doesn't work they will have you send it in and replace it. I've replaced mine once, it worked fine for about 2 months, and we're back to the same problems. This kind of technology is cool and helpful when it works, but for $800 + the cost of the base station, this is just not worth it.

I have tried other brand vacuums and this is the best one habds down. I like that is not round so it gets the edges and corners better

    Piece of junk

This thing gets stuck so easily on rugs or power cords. I have an i7+ and it doesn't have these issues. This S9+ also has trouble figuring out the layout of my house. It drives into corners and then sits there bumping against the wall for several minutes. And their support is horrible. They just have a series of articles they read to you and have you do a few steps to attempt to fix the issue. And they won't followup if it doesn't actually fix anything.

Having owned a 600 series, a 700 series, an 800 series, a 960, and a 980, I have had many Roomba vacuums. They always last about two years, or less before something goes inevitably wrong with them. Thank God for Geek Squad Protection though. Today I took my 980 in and Best Buy swapped it out for this model. Upon setting it up at home, it will come off the base, do two circles, and then stop saying move to a level floor. Then when you move it, the error becomes that the bumper is stuck. Not what you really want for a 1200 vacuum. Really about to give up and just commit to vacuuming two times a week with a Dyson. iRobot support was kind and helpful. They offered to replace the vacuum but alas I think I am done.

    Louder than Prior Model

For the price I expected to get a unit straight from the box that didn't rattle when it's on. This unit is painfully loud due to the inexpensive bearings used in the design of the brushes. It feels heavier and more robust than previous generations. It however still can't seem to consistently navigate between a hardwood floor and tile.

Errors constantly; need to babysit when it does run. Issues started happening right after the 45 day return period was up. Very expensive paperweight. DO NOT BUY!!!

Have owned Roombas for years, had high hopes for this one. Made in less than a foot before starting to throw error messages. Don't waste your time.
