Excellent little printer. Set up is very easy. Works like a charm.

First, I've always considered HP to be the standard for printers, but I've never had one for home use. I wanted a laser printer that would do both two-sided printing and have a legal size paper printing option, but didn't want to pay a king's ransom. This one fits the bill perfectly! It was a little more expensive than I wanted to go (but only a little bit), but I have ZERO complaints. Set up was easy and the output is clean and crisp. I'm not printing all the time, so it does take "naps" - but when I hit the print button, there is very little lag time before it wakes up and gets to work.

Been a fan of HP for years as they make reliable quality printers. This model is no exception as has given me good service and no problems. Double sided printing feature helps conserve paper.

Even though I would have prefer a black laserjet printer this model is super great--easy setup, easy printing, especially double-sided. Overall I am pleased with purchase.

I am IT guy. This is not the first time buying and setting up this model. It took me more time to set up due to computer won't detect this unit thru wired Ethernet network. Hard to describe, but just make sure you are knowledgeable to do the wired connection.

A good product if you are printing a long story, etc., as it prints double-sided. This printer frequently stops, requiring me to power-off / power back on and then the page I need will print. Also, my needs require continuous single pages, but I've found I have to be very slow in printing "print now" and wait for previous page to completely print. Not terribly happy with this.

Not as sturdy as my LaserJet 4, which was built like a tank and lasted 15 years. However, love the duplex feature and hoping this will last me just as long as my previous machine.

This printer was up and running in no time. Print quality is first-rate. The first page comes out very quickly. Solidly built. I am glad to have purchased it.

I got it for my 24-year old, still a student (now grad student) and it is almost exactly what they need. We have had very good luck with HP Laserjets (we are on, I think, just our second one from before that student was born, maybe third). It is hard to really know how well it works until ten years later when it is still producing prints at low cost without problems. Otherwise I would give it a 5. The only issue so far was a bit of trouble getting it connected/fully functional, although I think that problem has been resolved.

Talk about solid, reliable, and fast!!! This one is just what I was looking for. I am very happy with this purchase!!!

Relatively easy to set up although I had to go to the HP website as the automatic links didn’t do the job. Good basic copying is what you get with this laser printer. Advertising led me to believe it was an automatic two-sided printer but Nothing is automatic you have to take the paper out and re-submit it, albeit to a special receptacle which does make it a little easier

This is everything I wanted in a simple small-office printer. It was very easy to setup, and easy to network, and the speed and image quality are excellent for the price range. The only check mark in the minus column is that the paper tray capacity is kind of small. But if you're doing high volume printing you're probably not looking at this model anyway. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone for a small-footprint one-color printer at a reasonable price.

We use this printer at work. It is capable of handling everything we have thrown at it so far.

In recent years HP printers are either high end or low end. Not much choice in the middle. The HP LJ Pro 404dn is just about the middle. A decent printer that is reasonably fast. The printer is easy to setup either on the network or USB. The paper tray is a tad small but most home printers have small trays these days. The LCD panel is nice to have, esp for home network setup.

Easy to set up & extremely fast! Relatively small footprint. This works great for our small office environment. It replaced a prior HP Laser 3030 that had been heavily used. Only 4-stars (as I wish we could have optional color capability at somewhere near this price point). Jim

Seen what the 1 star reviews say about this printer and I have to say that these ppl are always looking for something to be unhappy about. I highly recommend this model. Prints Super quick with no issues. I bought my 2nd one recently after 2 years of owning the the first one.

I've just been using this printer for approximately one week and so far I am more than satisfied with it. The speed is good and it appears to be a durable printer.

Replaced my previous HP laser printer with this new one. As with the previous, this one was easy to setup. I love the performance, very fast, and crisp, clear text and images.
