Great chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great little chromebook. It's fast, super easy to use, light weight, the price is great and looks great. The only reasons it didn't get 5 starts is because the color is a little dull compared to my other screens (there may be a setting I can adjust that I'm unaware of) and the apps stay true to a phone dimension which I thought was odd. But even that is an easy solve by just going to the website rather than using the app. Overall it was a great purchase, and I've very happy with it

Wasn't enough for remote kindergarten
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought it for the pricing, thinking $200 should be sufficient cost-of-tech for a kindergartener. My daughter loved it - big screen, allowed [Android] Apps that she was familiar with like PBS Kids Shows/Games, battery life was pretty good getting her through most of the day, and we really liked that we were able to monitor and authorize all her activity remotely. But then she actually started kindergarten remote learning... Google Meet kept freezing and she wasn't able to Mute/Unmute consistently. The integration of Google managed school account was nice, along with all the tools, but our daughter was struggling because the laptop made it frustrating to interact with the class. We got the Best Buy service contract (because we figured she might break it the first year) so we brought it to Geek Squad and they told us there really wasn't anything to be done - the processor was just too slow. I'm giving it 2 stars because honestly we liked the product for the price point. I'm sure there are some people who may be able to use it without all the need of Google Meet, Zoom, etc.

Great battery life, good cam, cyber school ready
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is working great for my kids cyber schools. They are able to access and do everything that has been asked of them. This is so much better than the iPad that they would have been assigned from school. It's pretty simple to use. Battery lasts all day (but we keep them plugged in.) I'm glad we didn't go with touchscreen. The kids are learning to type and I couldn't be happier.

Watch out when you switch colors!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ll start this by saying I have no idea if this computer is okay or not. I will say that I purchased the ceramic white color on cyber Monday for my son for school. After purchasing it, I decided to switch to the chalkboard color and canceled my original order. I canceled my original order, then went to the same page where I purchased the ceramic color and switched to the chalkboard color. It turns out it was a completely different computer. The original computer I purchased is touchscreen and the screen moves around, while the chalkboard color is not touchscreen and the screen is different. The worst part is that when I asked to exchange it for the original computer I purchased with touchscreen, I was told by Best Buy chat that I cannot exchange it for the original price I had purchased it for. I’m completely disappointed that just by switching a color on the same page, I got a completely different computer. If it is a different computer completely, it should be on a different thread.

Lasted less than a week
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a couple days it froze up. The screen would freeze up, I could restart it and it would work for a couple more hours and do it again. I had not downloaded anything in it other than FB.. Geek squad looked at it and said it cannot be repaired. BestBuy replaced it. The next day the replace did the same thing. I went back talked to Geek Squad, they said it cant be repaired. I returned the second one and replaced it with a HP windows 10... Chromebook has not worked out all the problems yet....

Great for internet
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just replaced a touch screen chromebook with this one. Its nice for internet use but I wouldn't buy one of these for anything more than taking care of things on the internet. I do have Office 365 and it works fine with Office but if you are going to write more than a couple of pages, it puts a real strain on these and, after about 10 pages, I have to switch to a full powered computer because the lag is maddening. I'm sure this is perfect for kids that need to write 500 words for school. It only runs apps and the apps available are limited but its also super cheap as computers go so I wasn't expecting anything to complex. If you get the touch screen, the drawing apps are decent for a young person who has their eye on a Cintique. It'll give them the feel of drawing on a screen but, again, its limited. The operating system isn't hard to adjust to and there's no problem opening up documents on another computer. I use a Mac but I can send documents to PCs and they open easily. This hp works great and its a little bigger, thicker and heavier than my last one but I really like it. Its very portable and when its time to replace it, since everything is stored in the cloud, everything transfers right over when you sign into your account, so there's really very little set up. That makes it great for storing art projects or other projects that you want to be able to access from anywhere. I'm very happy with this purchase and will replace it without hesitation when it goes out in a couple of years.

Great Computer for anyone on a Budget
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Chromebook as part of a Black Friday sale for $112 (listed price is $249). I figured at this price I should definitely check it out. This is my first Chromebook, up until now I have been a Mac user at home and Windows user at work. Having used this computer for a bit now I can say I am definitely a fan of ChomeOS; it is very user friendly, simple, and elegant. Right off the bat the build quality of this computer is fantastic. It feels solid, has 2 standard USB ports, 2 USB-C ports (which is also how it charges) as well as a headphone jack, and micro-SD. The keyboard has a great feel to it and the 14 inch screen is a great compromise between size and portability (oh and by the way this thing is super light). From my experience this computer has been great for creating/editing documents and spreadsheets, surfing the web, checking email, and streaming Netflix/Hulu. As impressed as I am with this computer, there are two drawbacks that do ump out at me… The display quality leaves plenty to be desired. To me the display appears to be washed out and poor contrast, additionally, the keyboard is not back-lit. But in my opinion, the pros significantly out-weigh the cons. I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone with basic computer needs on a budget. Even at the full price of $249 this is still a great computer.

Nice for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is nice for the price. Fast, easy setup. Fast power on, long battery life. This can do everything I would expect. The only drawback for me was the buttons that are built into the touchpad. I could not easily scroll up and down. I also felt like the left touchpad button was getting weak after just a few days.

Works well so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this budget-priced Chromebook for a little over $100 on Cyber Monday and wasn't sure what to expect. But so far it has worked very well and is much faster than the Windows laptop I've been using for years, which slowed down a lot after some of the Win 10 operating system updates last year. There are a few things I can't do, like transferring files to my recorder, and I agree with one of the other comments here that the screen colors look a bit washed out. But overall I've been very pleased with the Chromebook so far. The keyboard layout takes a little getting used to (like there's no Delete key or CapsLock key), but I've added the help page on Chromebook key combinations to my bookmarks, and that's been helpful in making the switch.

Good student laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was given to me as a present for school. I have had it for a few weeks now, it has worked great. I have had no issues with it but sadly will be exchanging it due to the fact that it does not support my apple products. I can download apple music but not iTunes and with my recent phone upgrade i rather exchange for something that supports itunes until chomebook can accommodate.

Fast and easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a lot of time looking for the right balance of cost and features. This Chromebook is fast enough for day to day use and the battery lasts for hours. I leave it in sleep when I am not using it and I use it for hours at a time and I only have to charge it about once a week normally. It runs Android apps and Linux. As it only has 4 GB ram it is NOT for intense use. I do recommend it for anyone looking for a speedy day to day use without the need to charge it daily.

It's ok for $200
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Chrome book for my son to do his school work at home during the pLandemic. It's ok considering what I paid for it. The display isn't very bright and kind of matte. The keys feel cheap. It's not a bad Chromebook I just wish I had spent an extra hundred bucks for a little bit better one with a touch screen. A lot of his assignments require drawing diagrams and pictures. Battery life is great and you can charge it from either side with a USB-C connection. The sound is surprising good. The AMD processors are much more efficient than Intel.

Home schooling UGH
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed something for two elementary school age kids for unexpected/unplanned homeschooling (thanks Covid19). Easy for 1st and 3rd graders to navigate their school dashboard, zoom class meetings, and everything they need. Was skeptical because of how cheap they were. Seems durable, but it’s only been dropped a few times. Battery life is really good. I did purchase a wireless mouse after reading other reviews. Highly recommend that.

best value chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a larger basic chromebook, this is the one. It is definitely plastic and the screen is mediocre... but hopefully you clarly understand what you are getting in this price range. Battery and keyboard are very decent. Trackpad leaves something to be desired. Immediately connect a wireless mouse. CB's are absolutely the best for families if you understand what you are buying.
